5 out of 5...that ep was amazing!
lauryn
Pretty much the same as DOG

AWESOME!

Especially the Sylar scenes.. but I'm biased.

Fantastic episode. My only complaint was that it was too short!
Frostburg
Tonight's episode was straight-up UNBELIEVABLE.

There has been a lot of debate over the quality of season 2, but in my opinion tonight's episode blew away any single episode from last season.

One interesting angle to take with this is to point out the fact that Hiro and Peter's storylines were not featured. Weak points of season 2 so far?

I want to watch this thing six more times tonight.

I'm telling you, I was enjoying season 2 already, but now I feel like it's not only matched season 1, but eclipsed it.

Though it never left, Heroes is officially BACK.

5 out of 5 even with no Peter...now thats a good episode. When its 5 with out him
thepoohguy
I agree 5 out of 5. By far this was the best episode this season so far. Absolutely awesome.

When will they ever give us a two hour episode? That would be awesome! Especially for a finale!
soupcan58
5/5 for me. This episode definantly is the right way for the season to go, with a couple plot threads I wasn't expecting, AND a great cliffhanger ending. This felt more like the first season than any episode so far this season.
tyler1007
4/5. A good episode, still not without its problems, but definitely a good one. It's a lot better than the past three episodes, but that's not saying that much.

Oh right, the best thing about this episode was that it didn't try to tackle a million different storylines and get lost in them. I liked that. And Monica is definitely the best new Hero in a while.
Trynitee
Hands down...the best episode so far!
HeedTheMessenger
There seem to be more storylines this season... maybe it's just me. But tonight we didn't have any Niki, Hiro, or Peter. It was Matt/Nathan/Mohinder/Molly and the history of the "12", Claire/Wes/HRG, Noah/Molly, Alejandro/Maya/Sylar...

I guess it's probably the same as last year... hmm.

5/5 for me, it was the best this season for me so far.

Wow, I guess I'm going to have to break the consensus.

While next week looks to be pretty damn good, For me, after three great episodes, Season Two has delivered the first dud of the season, which has been extremely rare for the show in general.

Aside from fantastic The Sylar & Twins shenanigans, there was almost nonthing that really kept my interest. Monica is very likable but her lil cousin/brother/whatever and the hammy heavy handed Katrina symbolism left me annoyed. Micah is doing alright, this is the first time we've really kind of seen him without his family and he seems to be pretty shy, nonthing wrong with that but he just kind of took up space here, understandable, the focus was on introducing Charlie's spiritual successor. I also soured on the Molly, Mohinder and Matt segments this week, I try not to tell myself they need to rush this but the two dads thing, everytime they cut away to them in the apartment, I just want to see them switch to one of the different characters. Their story is most likely going to pick up alot of pace soon but the reveal of Matt's old man being Sylar's better left me dissapointed, as snobbish as that sounds when we haven't even met the character yet, it left me underwhelmed. Out of all the characters to have more Daddy issues, I was hoping it wouldn't be Matt.

I couldn't believe it when it ended.. it was so fast and I wanted MORE..what a terrific episode.. On some other site a few people wrote that they hated it..it was slow..there was no action. I just think they want a SuperHero vs. ? rather than an absorbing drama. I LOVED it..esp. Sylar (but of course smile.gif ) -- excellent writing and pacing.
LouisWu
Yeah def a 5 of 5 from me
Loved how it set up the rest of the season, and I actually didn't realize until the last commerical break that there was nothing about Peter and Hiro. Didn't miss what was going on with Hiro but I did miss Peter a bit. But the story progressed nicely and more questions arose then were answered. Awesome!

Huh?!? I didn't catch that. Which episode did they show the picture of Sylar's father? Was it the one where he went back home to visit his mother?

I loved how much was revealed in this episode and how many questions it left. 5/5!

You misinterpreted.

Molly has described her bogeyman as being far worse than Sylar, hence "Sylar's better".

On a more positive note, Dania Ramirez is really working her butt off with every lil bit they've given her, I already liked her before Heroes but she's really starting to come into her own.
Apocrypha
Much better. I love Nathan's scenes in this episode. His interaction with his son, his mother, and Matt were fantastic.

Monica turns out to be the better new character. I'm surprised because I thought Maya would be the one.

Sylar actually makes Maya/Alejandro's story fun. I can't help but smiling when I saw his 'dead skunk' act on the street.
MikeH
I think they introduced the twins too quickly. I don't despise them, but it wasn't until this episode and last that their story line started being interesting at all. Coinicidence that it became interesting as soon as a loose tie to the main thread happened? I don't think so.

I watched Dania's part with Sylar again, but this time w/o the sound on..she is a terrific actress and I think I'm gonna enjoy watching her from now on.

..but that's the way Tim Kring works.. This season is gonna end up more awesome than the last, I tell you smile.gif

I think this is not nearly as strong as the average episode last season. I do think some elements from this episode have the potential to turn the season around, but they were not handled properly. However, the potential is there, so I've got my fingers crossed.

I'm still going to give it 1/5 for now, though. Lots of things have potential. When they seize the potential and actually make episodes where my friends and I aren't rolling our eyes, that's when the score will go up.
dxgarten
A much, much better episode than last week. There are still some badly paced/acted scenes, mostly involving Claire/West but the rest are pretty good. 4/5
Pr4t4
undoubtedly, unarguably the best episode ever.

I mean, wouldn't you agree? Almost every scene is a climax!

These are the things I am DIEING to find out: What happens to Molly, Hiro and Peter.
pngaou
Haha, I don't know about best episode ever, but this was definitely a pretty interesting one. I'm glad that things are finally speeding up.

Parkman is finally more involved. Claire and Noah are having trust issues that actually mean something. Nathan shaved his beard (which, although means nothing, is visually nice). Micah's cousin has a freaking awesome ability (I really hope they have her do martial arts stuff). Sylar is intertwined with the twins.

Good things happening on the show.

yeah, that's for sure.

I think Claire and Noah are gonna lie to each other a lot. Claire has already lied about West, and Noah is probably going to lie about going to Odessa, Texas. Huge trust issue.

Btw, I am excited to see Kristen Bell on the show. Wonder what powers she has. Hmmmm... Man, I can't wait another week. I want it now! (I am so spoilt)

Pretty damn good episode overall.

LESS WEST, MORE MONICA!
kwister
i think it wasnt the BEST, but it was great as always.. the producers sure loves t keep us in all the suspense and anticipating the next ep!

Great episode.. loved every bit of it!

-yay no caitlin/peter. : D
SacredKnight
Best episode of this season. Doesn't beat Five Years Gone though. smile.gif
Troy
I agree that it was the best episode this season, but not the best ever.

I really enjoyed this one, and up until now, I was thinking this season was a bit of a dissapointment, but I am glad that it is getting better.

Looking forward to more episodes like this one!
Shizniddle Snap
Great Ep. but the best ever is "Company-Man"
JadeDestiny
I agree..we really got a lot more information, and saw several of the characters storylines move forward quite a bit.

4/5.

MUCH better than the rest of Season 2, thus far. A HUGE improvement over last week.

I reserve 5/5 for eps like "Company Man" and "Five Years Gone", but this was almost up there.
Gelert
I agree.

Probably the best episode of S2 for me, not quite perfect though.. hmm.. I'll give it a 4/5! cool.gif
herlepras
Best epiosde of season 2 so far and without HIRO and Peter too!,
I'm impressed that the story/plot moved so much in 1 single episode![The 12,finally]

Hmm,I/m pretty sure HRG's going to Odessa,Ukraine!

An unforgetable episode! I divide this episode into 4 categories:

1) Category one : A Steamy Pile of AWESOME!
- THe 4 M and N (Molly, Matt, Mohinder, Mama Petrelli and Natan) Amaizing, the best arch of the season so far in my book. And althought they gave some explanations, i think is a red herring (darn, all this making us think!) Awesome moments of the episode.
- Sylar, Alejandro and Maya are now partners in crime! come on, is that cool or what?!? This arch is gonna become better than kool aid!

2) Category two: A basket of goodies
- Bennet and the Haitian are going to Odessa. Our two favorite ex company men on the road again! Now if they find Claude and let him join them, the boys are back in town!
- Mr. Muggles... a ball full of fur fun! got to love that furrball!

3) Category three: It's an ok, but not by much
-
Monica. I don't know, the power of imitating what she watches on TV. Ahem, my daughter have that power then, to my eternal worry. Is not a power, is called been 10 years old! Need a little more work, but has potential.

4 Category four: More Painfull than passing a Kindey Stone or giving birth to a ball of barbwire
- West and Claire. Gosh, that was the more painfull thing I have ever seen on TV since blink.gif ... well, ever! Great thing for an MTV reality series, painfull in Heroes. Hope they cut down on it a little.
- No that awesome image of gorgeousness called Niki! But understandable, Ali Larter was probably filming Resident Evil when these episodes were been film. I will not take points out of that.
- No Peter and No Hiro: Understandable too, with so many archs going on, they had too much exposition already in it was time to give the other arch a break... still and a Heroes episode without Hiro or Peter is like having lobster without butter... great still, but could have been better.

I said it in other threads that this episode will be the one equivalent with Season 1 episode 5 "hiros" as the one who was gonna get the ball rolling. Could have been a perfect 5 if not for the Claire arch... oh what the heck, I give it 5/5 anyway. cool.gif

I am a huge fan of Nathan; I find his character to be one of the more complex ones on the show and to see him getting involved is awesome. This episode was easily the best yet; you can actually see the plot going somewhere, as opposed to just trudging along. The only problem I have is with Monica. Don't get me wrong, her character is cool, but there are too many characters as it is withouty introducing another that seems capable of turning into a bit of a main.
GOPEANUTZ
of course if would vote 5/5! The best episode if you asked me, good action, intense scenes, a lot of questions also, but the episode end quick even my download went rapidly laugh.gif I guess it was too good =D

oh oh and not to forget the Nathan scenes, i love him ^^ and his character gets better.. and better..
Eleo
I liked this episode. I think Monica is my favorite character right now, and I think her power is awesome. This episode had lots of cool developments. What else can I say? It was nearly perfect.
Mattyb89
Ahh after a slow first few episodes the series finally starts to pick up again, episodes like this are part of the reason why people watch this show. Not saying this was the best episode ever though. Firstly, too many M names I mean Maya, Monica, Matt, Micah, Mohinder, Molly, Monty. Well Ok that doesn't detreact from the episode but I'm just saying. Monica is totally a cool addition to the show and her and Claire together would be nice mexcept her brother is annoying and it was a litlle Katrina preachy as a previous poster said, but nothing too horrible. Sylar actually won me over but, he really needs to just stop killing people. I was agreeing with Alejandro during the whole Gabriel scene. What trouble will Noah get into, I bet it'll be better than Claire and West, I miss Zach. Matt's whole father thing almost crosses the line from "OMG" to "Too much" and Nathan is awsome. Ironically it seems so far this season Claire, Peter and Hiro the perineal favorites of the series seem to have fallen from grace some , since in the first season they were the most loved. Hopefully their issues get resolved soon. Though I'm sure it will if the series continues with good episodes like this.

4.5/5
Rebel
My vote 5/5 for Season2, definitely.

When this show is at its best its not only cool in an X-men meets X-files way but in the way the charachters move you.

So I have some awards to give out.

A.TECHNICAL AWARDS
1)Kudos to Series creator Tim Kring for the script and to Directior ADAM KANE (great job!) best over all production design, including sets and FX. Also wardrobe--I liked Monica's Burger Hostage garb. Also Best cinematography, editing and pacing thus far. Everything flowed together seemlessly. Nothing bored me, I was interested and involved in all the stories, I had sympathy and interest in all the charachters.

B.Most Achingly Touching Scenes
1) Nathan seperated by the gate from being with his sons.
2)Lovely Monica staying and brave and positive in the face of a world that seemingly wants to keep her down :"just be glad you have a job." Up yours, buddy!
3)Sylar remembering himself as Gabriel Grey and telling his new traveling companions. He was looking for a moment, truly repetent, wistful and deeply sad at what he has become.
4)Somehow by playing off Sylar we finally see the Twins as sympathetic charachters with essential differences--world-wise Alejandro and sweetly, innocent Maya and feel their desperation and gratitude.

C.Just Wonderful
1)HRG and the Haitian teaming up again and off on a mission.
2) West and Claire kissing in mid-flight between the Hollywood signn letters.
3)Mama Petrelli.
4)Matt, Mohinder and Molly

D.Inspiring LUST--Kudos, again, to Wardrobe for putting Zachary Quinto in black "wife-beater" t-shirt, black pants and boots. I didn't think it was possible to make someone more beautiful but somehow Zach has done it. Zach is not the most "pretty" of the men on the show. That award goes to Sendhil--must he wear a t-shirt when getting up out of bed?--but without a doubt Mr. Quinto is the most rawly sensual and magnetizing of the men for me, though Adrianis a very close second.

I agree that "Company Man" and "Five Years Later" are seminal to understanding the important arcs in the show so I give them a different category and rating all together.

Now the question is can Elle (Kristen Bell) rescue Peter from his dull captivity among the phoney Irish mafia.

My Complaint--next time they do a World Tour send a Cinematographer to Shoot Background plates for FX and do some location compositing especially when you plan on having a major set location be in another country. It will help "sell" the set.

2/5

Heh, ironic.

Anyways, I'd actually give this a 4.5, but since it's in whole numbers, I'll give it a five. It has its flaws, and while Sylar's meeting with Maya and Alejandro is a pretty big stretch, I like where it's heading, and they make the twins even more interesting. I also absolutely love how everyone's already beginning to converge, and in ways beyond simple familial bonds (save for Micah and Monica).

I like Claire and West's romance too. While most people are sick of it, I find that some romance is necessary, and West is a good guy, just with a big attitude.

The best one...though I suspect Fight or Flight will trump it...so much will be revealed. O_O
