OMG, this is the best new thread smile.gif

Ok, I'm so SICK, SICK, SICK of the HRG protecting Claire storyline. Are we going to have to see this same lame boring story EVERYWEEK since season 1, ep 1 about HRG trying to protect Claire? GET ON WITH IT ALREADY! Sheesh!

And because of that, I can't stand HRG/Claire anymore. Ya ya, their relationship is lovely, but come on, LET"S MOVE ON!

And one last thing...if HRG really wants to protect Claire, why the heck, in the world of all places, did they move to LA? Shouldn't they move to somewhere remote?

cajun accent giving me shutters

Any other cajuns out there that are shuttering over that accent?!

And whats with the county remark?!? They are parishes NOT counties!!

They are not representing new orleans very well I must say..

It did sound like they were trying a little too hard to me - too much of a Southern twang. But then I'm from Baton Rouge, not New Orleans. I guess their accents could have been worse so I won't complain too much. smile.gif

I didn't catch the "county" remark - that is pretty dumb if they had that in there.

I liked the episode, definitely better than last week's. But I still hate Sylar.
lauryn
If I have to go through another Claire/West love scene.. i might throw up.

Overall though, really liked it.

I also agree though, with the accents.. they were bad.

OMG... Please... make the whole Claire/West storyline stop. Please get on with making West a part of the company or whatever you have planned for him. I can't take much more of this guy.
tyler1007
- West. He needs to die. Seriously. Can HRG still pop one in him?

- Maya and Alejandro have potential, but they need to start doing something.

Those were my only real complaints.

I think they mishandled the whole Katrina thing. While I like the realism Kring is adding I feel like the whole thing should be implied more. It felt rather blunt, kinda like the way they add the Nissan product placement. Its not like its slipped in there, its more like "So here it is, and its all in the open". What did anybody else think?
roguebot
I want to know why the writing has deteriorated so much. Especially in the scenes involving new characters. Did they rush through everything because of the writers strike that's coming up soon?

neah, that part was pretty realistic I have to sadly admit. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't hear THAT word! Its still on the news nightly, in papers, radio and people still constantly talk about it.

They did mess up and said her county was destroyed and in LA we don't have counties, we have parishes. It would seem like a slight boo boo except for the 24/7 CNN coverage for months about the parishes being messed up laugh.gif

That's possibility since some of the continuity seems to be forgotten. They need to tighten up things more.

Claire should know better than be hanging with somebody like West. He's really pushy on the powers part, and just because he can fly that means he's not a potential obsessive stalker type?

Especially since you just know he's gonna turn out to be a plant.

I understand Claire's a teenager, but she's still an intelligent one. Don't insult her character with this plotline.

Kind of glad Sylar ran into the Honduran duo since their plot's been really dull, though they gonna explain how he ended up there? It looked like he on the Lost island or something last week.

And please don't tell me that Monica's gonna be this season's Charlie... even though it feels like that's being implied here.

West's lines are especially bad. "I mean I can fly, you can regenerate..." Thanks for breaking it down for the dumb audience, West.

all im ****** off about is the absence of niki

mad.gif

i mean they barely reintroduce her last ep.

I thought it was a great episode, but I would have gladly traded less time with West/Claire for more info from Angela Petrelli if given the option.
Insight
I'm frustrated because they're all over the place. There's what, at least 7 active storylines?

1) Solving Kaito's murder
2) Haitian/HRG/Mohinder infiltrating the company
3) Twins + Sylar fleeing Mexico
4) Micah in New Orleans
5) Amnesiac Peter
6) Claire adjusting to California + West
7) Hiro in ancient Japan/Ando in modern

Plus other potential/impending/partial storylines
* Matt/Mohinder/Molly apartment life
* Niki heading to New York
* Bob and the company
* Daddy Parkman and the company
* Nathan and his scarred face/family issues

While obviously many of these have overlapped, the writers are really all over the place. They need to tighten it up a little bit.

This week they started consolidating a little, combining Sylar's story with Maya + Alejandro. They also are trying to incorporate Nathan's issues storyline into the quest to find Kaito's killer. But it's not quite enough, they need to reign it in just a little more.
madmab
West/Claire reminds me too much of the awkward Anakin/Padme relationship that practically ruined the Star Wars ep I-III. He's annoyingly bad when in stalker mode and barely tolerable in romantic mode.

Nice to see the threads starting to tie together a little although some of the dialog can be contrived and ridiculous at times. But I still love the show when the do manage to string things together.

I believe that this can't be escaped, given the nature of Heroes.
This is how the first season was... several storylines at first, then they start to intertwine. I'm actually pretty glad they're weaving much earlier in the season than they did last season. In season one it seemed as though they quickly tried to make ties near the end, and it was all too fast. I like the pace it's going at right now.

I'm defending laugh.gif
But in the spirit of the thread, I'm so tired of Claire/West kissing scenes already. PLEASE at least show a different angle? Please? Or have West meet her dad already, I want me some drama! Or or have Claire get all suspicious-socks on HRG! HRG is all over Claire's business, so Claire should have a bit of a peak, maybe at that painting...

Secrets, Secrets, Secrets! How long is HRG going to keep hiding things from Claire. How about this for a line: "ClaireBear Look at this painting. This was done by a guy that could see the future, who was special like you. If you join the cheerleading squad and go around daiting boys right now, someone is going to put a bullet in daddies head."

I mean after last season he should realize that she can handle more by now. West is a very annoying in the current role, and his interaction with Claire really dumbs her charachter down.

I second that. Thank you. Now I finally know who creepy and awkard West reminds me of - creepy and awkard Anakin. Buh - their script and storyline ruined the entire movie. Let's kick West out of the show - where do I sign?
iWANEX
I don't know why everyone hates West. I'm actually loving Claire/West's scenes. I hope they keep the actor on the show!

There.

Also, they need to bring Niki back and kill Hiro. I hate Hiro so I'm glad he wasn't in this episode. His storyline is THE worst this season.

I'm loving Maya/Al's storyline, specially now that they're with Sylar.

Also, WRITERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, stop using people with the same powers OVER AND OVER again. There are plenty of powers to explore. Aggg, now this new girl is like charlie. West can fly like Nathan. Stop it NOWWWWW

Yeah! Have the writers forgotten about season 1 episode 17? I thought HRG and Claire came clean with each other in that episode? Why is it that HRG is still hiding so much from Claire?! I admit that West is hot but with his flying & snoping powers, you'd think that he notices HRG already.

*Also hoping for HRG to kick West's butt!*
madtheo
I was so happy to find this thread and see that there are other people out there as sick to death of the Claire storyline as I am. I loved her first season but now between her whining about her restrictions, her overprotective father who STILL can't trust her with all of the information and the teenage hormones running rampant, I'm bored everytime she pops up. As of right now, I do still like HRG but Claire - not so much. Save the screen time for stories that are actually going somewhere.

Speaking of stories that are actually going somewhere, maybe the wonder twins will finally become more exciting to watch now that Sylar's entered the picture. I can only hope...
isitmondayyet?
heck, i'm just glad that Sylar learned a new trick

killing someone by hitting them on the head? didn't see that coming!

The Claire/West scenes are fine. The only problem is the HRG/Claire dynamic feels like deja vu. But I bet this will be resolved by the end of the chapter (around episode 10) - unlike last season where the "secrets" went on until episode 17. Also, HRG's own "take down the company" storyline better start picking up soon... him just acting as Claire's father isn't good enough...

Now onto my actual venting... the Katrina montage superimposed over her face was super lame. That is all.
bman
The Katrina montage was a lame homage to the city. We know what these writers can do and know they could have done it better. It would have taken sending a crew down to NOLA, filming walking down some of the streets in neighborhoods showing the makings still on the abandoned houses, water marks that still show, etc and just blue screening Monica et al in. Her nightmarish memories would have been better served with personal memories of braving the storm rather than cnn stock film. Folks this ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO HER CHARACTER, her memories wouldn't be from the outside but from the inside. Amen to county vs parrish and the accents.
roxyquicksilver1
My only complaint? Just have HRG shoot West. PLEASE! He is annoying, creepy, stalker-ish, and does it bug anyone else how big of a height difference there is between him and Claire? Also, I am SICK of these cheesy greenscreen and kissing scenes!

No. If he has to die at least wait until Sylar can get his ability.

I think the Twins + Sylar ties with the whole Virus plot but that won't kick into gear until halfway through the season.

Maybe she sees things in terms of television and that's connected with how her power works.

See, now I think it's great that they did that. I'd be annoyed if they did it the other way.

If every character had to have a different power, the writers would have a hard time coming up with stuff eventually. Also, it seems much more "realistic "(as it were) this way. If these things ever were to really happen, I would think lots of people would have similiar powers.

Also, we don't know the depth of West's powers yeat (or maybe even Nathan's, for that matter) and Charlie and Monica only seem similiar so far, in that Charlie remembered everything she read, and Morgan can DO things she sees on TV (maybe not just on TV, but that's all we know so far.)
KristoffSka
I just cannot stand West.

Plain and simple. He is like something straight out of The OC or Smallville
Shizniddle Snap
I have stated my dislike for West since the first time he appeared.
He is named after a cardinal direction for God's sake.

Creepy and weird.

West needs to die or turn on Claire or something soon!

Sylar should be able to fly, and this way Nathan lives too.

Sylar plus flight equals bad medicine. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a living Nathan and dead West. But if Sylar gets flight, it would be too easy for him to reach other powered people (if he can even remember how to do it and get his hands on the List again). He'll have an arsenal of powers in no time. As for West, I'm hoping for an incident involving a jet engine. But that's me.

uh... actually, this doesn't really have anything to do with this topic, but roguebot, that South Park Heroes thing you have - does anyone else find it amusing that the only one that really looks like the character is Cartman Parkman ?

probably not

happy.gif Two pages and no one's complained about Matt yet.

dry.gif I'm finding him a jerk right now, and since I've never liked him all that much, I dunno if that's going to change anytime soon. Kept pushing Molly to look just a little bit farther one too many times, what building, what floor, what room... It was the Nightmare Man, hense her worst nightmare and the whole time she's complaining that he can see her and he was going to get her and Matt just kept pushing her... Blah. Jerk.

lol, on the other hand this isn't a rant about the show, I just don't like Matt very much.

Now that you mention it, Matt did annoy me when questioning Molly about the Nightmare Man. He's a cop, for crying out loud and it's his dad he's looking for. It should have been enough to find out what apartment complex he was in. She even got the floor he was on. He didn't need to know the number of the apartment, he could have figured that out on his own. Sheesh, talk about a lousy cop. dry.gif
