Is it possible that heroes who are related have similar powers?

Consider:
1. Matt's telepathic power and his Dad's mental "I can see you" power.
2. Micah's electronic wizardy and his cousin Monica's "electronic TV" learning (not clear at this time if she can super-mimic anything she sees or only things that are shown electronically*).
3. The Super Twins viral propagation/prevention.

However, Hayden's is different from her Mom and Dad Nathan. Micah is different from D.L. and Niki (although you can argue they all have "manipulation" type powers). And Nathan and Peter have different powers. In these cases, perhaps if a family has multiple different powers, then other family members will have similar power to 1 of the multiple powers that's "available".

Yes, I think it is possible, but not always the case. You proved that point in the second half of your post.

It is also possible that some people have no powers even if they are family members, such as Simone. She didn't have a power (that I know of).

I think it's just like any other trait. Both of your parents can have blue eyes, and can produce a child with blue eyes... but there are recessive genes that could give you brown eyes or green eyes. I think the same thing happens with powers- sometimes you inherit a trait similar to your parents (brown eyes from hazil eyes), but sometimes you don't (blue eyes from green eyes). It just depends on the two parents and the genes...

At least that's how I see it.

I think it's pretty safe to say Monica can mimic any movement she sees. It would be way to cheesey to just have her mimic movies. . .

What I want to know is that if this will be a deliberate thing (similar genes/similar powers) that the writers will use again and again. Or will it simply be something that is used if convenient (for a storyline/character) but otherwise ignored?
