Yea i also thought of this right after the car got stolen. I guess what i was thinking is more how the border guards wouldn't notice that the registration and insureance were under a new name. Actually now that i think about it i don't think they would check stuff like that at the border, only their ID's. Not to mention they would have been dealing with the Mexican side of the border, which i am just assuming, doesn't stop to many Americans from coming into their country and spending money.
I guess it probably wouldn't be too hard to get their then.
actually, all you need to do to get into Mexico is pay the toll and cross
at the Mexican customs, if you have anything to declare, you just stop and declare it, they usually just check and since objects to declare tend to be medicine, foodstuff, etc, they usually don't make a big fuzz
the problem is that there are random searches, but although those are somewhat often, there's always enough cars crossing so as to lower the chances of getting one
