I think it would be kinda funny if she was to watch a whole bunch of tv kung fu movies or jet li movies and then try to use it in real life against someone with some fighting experience... she would get destroyed so badly. Martial arts in movies are often exagerated and would never work in a non choreographed situation. Not only would she not have any wirework to help her out but she would also lack the strength needed to perform a lot of things.

but.. hey it's tv, so i guess she'll probably end up like neo

Would you do any different? Don't get me wrong, I would def. start with Bruce lee, Jet Li and Jackie Chan Movies, but then I would go to Boxing, Kick boxing and UFC fights.. i figure after 2 days worth of movie mania, I would be good to go.

Now, I do agree, that a month or two in the Gym would def. not hurt though..

if she watches pride or ufc, then there is some hope i guess... but kung fu movies use improper forms and techniques that "look good"

i don't know... i just can't help thinking about that dude from kung pow that was thought wrong and basicly just loses all his fights.

I guess the big question is does her power enhance her normal physical abilities? IOW, does her body replicate any motion that she see's any person do, or is it limited to motions that she can perform in her current physical shape? I would think that after seeing other powers like Niki's, it is very possible that her body allows for her to recreate any physical movement, which could really enhance her strenght and flexibility.

I'm thinking she needs to watch some 3 Stooges movies...that would be hillarious!! Nyuk nyuk nyuk!

I wouldnt get too worked up about a TV Comic Book show and reality. I had a similar thought but then I realized that "maybe her mutant brain fills in stuff or can ad-lib other moves she knows when she leaves big openings, if the guy takes advantage". In a comic book, where the power isnt real anyway, you could always argue it makes her better than the person she is watchnig and/or fills in gaps or any other explanation.

Even if it were limited to realism, it would still be nasty. I dont mean for the Kung Fu either. Have you ever seen videos of those guys who have like 20 speed loaders on their belt or whatever and they have speed shooting contests to see how many bullets they can put in an apple 20 feet away in 10 seconds? Those guys are scary. If she could be a fast-shooting queen from watching, that'd be WAY scary.

Hey what about serious street knife fighting? I saw a documentary on asian knife fighting techniques. They demonstrated by having a guy wear a white paper suit. They had a street fighter with dull knives dipped in red paint. In about 1 or 2 seconds at most, he stepped up to the guy in the white suit and stepped away. It was so fast. They stopped and examined the white suit and all the major arm and leg arteries had been "marked". They went on to say that in the real fight, the person using that technique just made his lethal strike and then hoped to live for 30 more seconds while his opponent would bleed out. There are some pretty nasty things she could learn to do, comic universe or not.

They'll probably have her stick to martial arts. If they do, they still need to have somebody shoot at her and figure out what to do about that, because even in a comic, that'd be happening. BANG!

she needs to watch The Matrix and learn Trinity's suspended-in-the-air crane kick laugh.gif

Watching UFC wouldn't help her much with that skinny body of hers. Watching exagerated kung fu movies would probably be better for her since she'd learn practical technique, exagerated or not, that doesn't require her to have that fit body. Though practical southern kung fu (that aren't as popular in movies as the modern acrobatic styles) as well as aikido/jujutsu grappling would fit her body perfectly well for her to kick some ****** without needing to rely on brute force like many UFC fighters does. It's different to learn a technique by watching it be done in air then being done on someone else. She'd probably become a good fighter just by watching set practice. (I´m a martial artist studying southern kung fu arts, san shou and wrestling while being an instructor in tai chi).

That is something I wondered to, I am sure her body alters itself temporarily to make her able to pull off whatever she wants to do because while her body is in nice shape now its still doesn't have the necessary conditioning to pull off lots of moves so her body must change to do said moves. Like the wrestling move she pulled off, if we tried to do that and knew how to do it we could still fail because are body isn't conditioned to pull that move off...as wrestlers do a TON of training to pull off all there moves so seamlessly. So with that her body has to adjust to pull off stuff..its the only way it make sense for her to be able to do such things.

... because all the other superpowers on the show make complete sense?
