They're doing a better job of hooking them up so fast now since his actions are becoming more convincing. I think most girls Claire's age would probably fall for a guy after he told her he didn't want to see her hurt with that cheesy flight save.

he's causing it, yes, but claire could easily just tell HRG what's going on... the truth is always better out in the open, because then you can deal with it a whole lot better than if you just let it boil under the surface until something bad happens...

LOL - every time Claire and West came on the screen, my husband was like, "Gag..."
I think it would be cool if West turned out to be a Company spy. I mean, he's just sooo perfect, saying all the right things... it kind of reminds me of how Eden drove me nuts at first. She was so sweet and cutesy with Mohinder, and then she turned out to be a bad girl working for the Company and I was like THANK GOD! But I don't think that will happen with West. After reading that graphic novel where he's flying around I think he is telling her the truth. Time will tell though.

I actually like West, he reminds me of some of my friends minus the semi-stalker vibe, and this whole entire set up makes sense to me. Look at it from the teenage perspective, dates/relationships in High School move faster than Indy Cars. So West being so sudden isn't that out of place, I been asked on a rather major date by someone I had only know for a little while before, now while it didn't last it still shows that when it comes down to relationships teens are irrational and go on impulses and emotions.
And come on people it's a television show, give it a break. Each "1 day" episode occurs a week from each other in real time so we kinda expect to progress as though things happen for the seven days between.

Because he's horribly cliched and as no relevence to the plot (at least at this point). It doesn't hurt that the actor playing him is annoying, or that the character is just a less interesting Zach.

1. for cliches, doesn't matter how cliche'd you are or how many you use, as long as they work... obviously they did...
2. no relevance to the plot? well, seeing as he is the cause of claire's lying to her dad, he could be, unintentionally, the death of noah bennet... i'd say that's a pretty big plot point...
3. as for the last bit of stuff, it's personal preference... I like west's character, mainly cuz he reminds me of me, minus the flying lol... and he isn't less interesting than zach, I think he's more interesting what with the whole getting kidnapped by HRG and all...

I don't know.
I think it's pretty cool what he can do, and how he is using his powers to give Claire a picture perfect romance on one side... but then I generally feel he is being WAY too pushy. I don't like when he opens his mouth, basically. He has horrible lines, first of all. Like waaay too obvious. And then he's not respecting Claire's choices. He thinks he knows what's best for her, and doesn't trust her judgment. Mind you West, your girlfriend is a very smart lass, yeh? Maybe you can trust that when she says no, she's got a reason.

West is super creepy.
I don't think he's making Claire lie to her dad, I think she desperately just wants to be herself and she perceives Noah as trying to make her be someone she's not. Now that the cat is out of the bag and creepy West knows about her, she feels like she has someone she can be herself with. Too bad she never got the brochure on how to avoid stalkers.
I agree with those who say this is a cheeeeeeesy love story! Those flying scenes are so campy! Give props to Hayden for doing her best to make it seem straight...
I really like the Claire storyline, but I hope she doesn't spill her guts to West...both figuratively and literally!

I personally think that they are setting up West to turn out to be a bad guy/traitor. Based from the desperately wanting to earn Claire's trust thing. Seems a little too fishy if you ask me. I think West knows more than he lets on. Maybe even knowing that HRG is Claire's father. Not improbable considering he keeps on floating around Claire's house and spies on her.

West and Claire hooking up is about as logical as Mohinder and Matt being in love
. She was the homecoming queen at her last school and he's the creepy guy that stares in girls windows and stalks them. The actor is really wrong for this part. There's no way I can see their romance working. The writes are forcing this and its really lame.

Nope. He's pushy, now Claire's lying to HRG again, and... He's reduced Claire's storyline to a sappy, unbelievable, rushed melodrama. Also, Heroes is better than all these cliched lines. If you want to set them up in 4 eps, at least be somewhat original.

Yeah, I'm thinking he's a plant. Been very pushy to Claire, and seems like he might be trying to fish HRG (and possibly her for the Company as well) out by using her. He didn't seem surprised when she mentioned her dad, and he had to have seen him when he pulled up at school. Plus, all that urgency to her to trust him? Still coming across as obsessive stalker. It does come off as rushed, and Claire's gonna get burned in a big way. Only regen powers don't work for emotional burn.

I agree the whole West / Claire thing is getting old. I dont watch the show for a disney channel teeny bopper peter pan fly around show. There better be something to this, they cut to the two of them every scene. They could have skipped a lot and done something else, he better be working for the company or die soon!

Think about this whole thing from West's perspective. His outlook on life is such that he sees people in only two categories, the ones that do what they're told and the ones that don't. His first meeting with Claire was when he almost ran her over, which piqued his interest (in my opinion). I know Noah was there at the time, but West didn't look at him. I'm pretty sure he'd have recognised him if he had.
I don't think West's a company spy because he had been bagged and tagged. Surely, if he was (even if he was employed after the injection) Noah would have known about him and been more careful about where they relocated. So no, I don't think it's that.
Bear in mind that as far as West knew up until now he was the only person who could do something extraordinary, and now he finds this girl who's just as odd as he is. The poor guy's just looking for someone to be himself with, he said as much to her at school.

Yeah I don't totally trust him yet but I do think the creepy vibe might just be the acting of the charachter, not that he is really creepy. And I only base that on the comic.
But doesn't he totally remind you of Peter Pan? Boyish good looks, throw caution to the wind attitude, even the way he flies. Just need to put him in some green tights and give him a sword and he'd be all set. I'm suprised he isn't calling her Wendy on accident.

I dont like West. He has slightly less of a Stalker vibe, but only slightly. I still think he is unstable. When Claire said "Its my dad" and for a moment West thought she was talking about whoever kidnapped him (and she was, but quickly redirected it) ... man I thought he was going to SNAP.

He's a wild card and I bet he goes all nutjob before its over.

West annoys me enough that I'm stepping out of my normal lurker role to actually whine about him.
He's just too smug and smarmy for me to like him, and aside from his stalker-vibe he's seems very manipulative. He strikes me as very phony, knowing all the right things to say, but maybe the phoniness is just the performance by the actor.
The Claire segments were among my favorite in Season 1... sadly, now I just cringe in anticipation of this guy.
In my mind, the only 2 ways that West can be saved are:
a ) He's a plant/spy/agent of the Company.
b ) He exists to give Sylar the power of flight
