Matt: I can't even bring myself to knock on this door.

[me: Nathan should knock]

Nathan: [knocks]

[friend: whaa?]

Matt: [looks shocked]

[me: thank you Nathan!]

Nathan: You're welcome.

[friend: did you write this?]

Right now, Nathan's going through grief worrying about Peter. But, once you take that out of the equation, we see that Nathan is not a punk and does not back down. He's probably thinking, "my mom's in jail for what this guy probably did, we came all this way to Philly, he left you 25 years ago, and Molly's in a coma...and you can't knock on the door? My brother is the king of emo so I can handle you, therefore...**KNOCK KNOCK**"

oh, i loved Nathan in that scene. the way he knocked, the way he kept behind cover, the way he grabbed the shotgun and de-shelled it right away ... even breaking into the closet (although it was a stupid thing to do, heh)

he was pretty much "in charge" through that whole exchange

For a man who can read minds, Parkman is not the brightest bulb in the box.

Well if it does turn out his exwife is pregnant with his kid and he didn't read her mind to find out the truth, then yes, Matt is a tad on the ditzy side.

nah. what i think is that his dad's mental projection was overwhelming, and he thought she was really there, not realizing, "hey! this isn't real, my dad picked my brain for this info and is using it against me." same thing with nathan. that scarred/burnt man is just a manifestation of his guilt, and he knows it. but when everything around you changes, down to the feel, sound, etc. it's hard to separate reality from imagination.

How is reading her mind supposed to tell him who the father is? A blood test is the only thing that's gonna do that.
