I think Noah Gray-Cabey is such a talented piano player. I wish I knew what song he played on the piano. Anyone know?
Eleo
Yeah I'd like to know too. It sounded familiar but I don't know what it is.
Rail24
I play piano and Micah's song was familiar, however I don't know the name.

My guess is that it could be a piece from Beethoven..this is going to bug me to no end until I find out!

It was too "pretty" to be Beethoven, imo.

My husband (who is a classical violinist; both his parents are pianists) suggested that it might be Chopin.

That would be my second guess if I was wrong about Beethoven.

Yeah my first guess was that it might be Chopin; his pieces were always aesthetically pleasing.

Just curious, I know Noah Gray-Cabey is a very talented pianist who learned at a very young age. I wonder why they didn't give him a harder piece to play on this episode? I mean, I know we only saw a few seconds, but I think those few seconds should have shown him playing more difficult stuff to show off his real life talent (he basically played the same beginning part over again after stopping to talk to Monica).

It seemed familiar to me as well...  It could have been an original piece that was just in the style of a well known composer, but considering how much classical music is in the public domain, I don't see why they'd do that...

My girlfriend has a background in classical music (just short of her Master's degree, and time spent in an orchestra as well as working backstage).  She hasn't seen the episode yet, but I'll see if I can't find out from her if she knows the piece.  If anyone I know has a clue, it would most definitely be her :)

Anyway, I saw that Noah Gray-Cabey has a web site and en e-mail address. I sent him an e-mail asking him what piece he played in yesterday's episode. If I get a reply, I'll be sure to let you all know. smile.gif

Probably so that the actress could copy it. If the piece was too complex, she might not have been able to pull it off, especially when she sped up.

Obviously that was a double, it wasn't Dana. They said that she needed a double to do her hands in the piano, no one can do it THAT fast as she did unless they're classically trained for years.

About the song. I'll have to check the partition to see if I recognize it, I had 8 years of classical piano training so I might know it. Can't tell you out of the blue just by listening to the song, but maybe if I can catch some of the notes, I might be able to find it.

Must get a screenshot first or so.

Darn... I was hoping to find out what that piece was.

It sounded very familiar - its harmonic structure reminds me of an orchestral piece (a scherzo from a Schumann symphony), so I won't be surprised if the piano piece is also by Schumann.

See if you can request a screenshot of the sheet music in the screenshot request thread...I will do the same.

It's possible that the piect may be by Schumann...I've been looking all over the net for possiblities, but didn't check Schumann.
