So, once again, I get the feeling that the initial reason in founding the Company was to set up something to protect or provide for their special children, not necessarily further their own designs. I got the first inkling when Angela said to Kaito something along the lines of "What have you done to protect your children?" and tonight when Parkman's father said to Nathan "Which son are you, the politician?" I also remember the chapter title for this arc as "Generations" and think that this is where the show is going, to tell of the plans for the founder's children (the new generation of Heroes), not necessarily to discover what the founders had in mind (the older generation). It's likely that the initial meaning behind the Company was a benign one, that this group thought that they were unique, found out that their children had powers and wanted to protect them. Then they found that there were more people out there that had powers, and the founders split along the lines of keeping the Company as it's original mission (Mr Petrelli and Charles Deveaux?), vs those that saw the power in harvesting those with powers to do the Company's will (Angela and Linderman?).

Just my take, any thoughts?

But don't most of the recounts we get (Linderman, Maury Parkman, Kaito) they say they found each other and wanted to change the world/help people of their kind. I think that at the realization that it was genetic, they had their children in mind, but that may have been down the road from the formation. I don't know. Maybe we're both right.

Interesting theory, tex. Makes a lot of sense to me...I guess we will see in the next few episodes whether this theory holds water.

Well, said. I think that they found themselves as stated by Papa Parkman and that their original intentions were to save the world, but like Linderman stated - some had lost their way. Papa Parkman verified that HE had lost his way and became selfish in his own pursuits.
Now the the Original 12 split [exact numbers for or against - unknown] and maybe THEN the company was formed in order to control the specials so that no one individual would exceed any one of their powers, I think Bob said that some "specials needed to be eliminated(?) because their power was to great.
The real meaning to this season so far has been indication by Sylar's lack of powers but his intent to be special is still there, hence the murder spree; and of Peter recognizing that he has powers, but yet is tempted to not use them to "save" but to maybe serve his purpurpose. Kinda like the whole "Generations" them that all were special and banded together but have split to serve their ow needs. IDK
