This episode we saw that Parkmans powers will mature to just more than mind reading...Therefore I maintain that Michah's power will eventually go beyond machines and he will be able to understand powers as Sylar does!

I'll grant that maybe we have been given evidence that the powers are going to expand and grow as the characters age, but what this means for any particular character isnt really something we can predict with any certainty, maybe instead of his understanding of sytems expanding, his control over machines will just grow to the point where he can build stuff without actually touching any components or maybe he will eb able to transform machines into different machines, who knows.

He'll be able to command trucks, lawn mowers, and vending machines, ala Maximum Overdrive.

What did Sylar know how to work? A WATCH...one of the MOST intricate machines there is!

I still say Micah is a jr. Sylar...

"But Morpheus, not everyone believes as you do..."
"My beliefs do not require them to..."

Uh, have at it...

Here's my thoughts:

Last year, back when we didn't know Micah's power, Noah drew his character with the title, "The Repairman". At the time, I was hopin' that that meant he could not only be a technopath, but also heal people.

That would be kinda cool if healing people ends up bein' an "extension" of his abilities, since he seems, as a boy genius, to be "wired" well-enough to develop/evolve some more.

It is interesting that you think so. I remember when I saw Micah place his hand on his cousin it seemed as though he was trying to heal (or "fix") her. Do you think that could be another direction that Micah's power could go? Or do you believe (as I do) it was because of his cousin's specific power? Her mimic ability seems very machine like to me, and I thought as I watched that scene that would be the reason Micah thought/ thinks he could help her...

What do you think?

First Sylars power is very different from Micah's.

Micah can communicate with machines, as a result he can make them do things even if they can't do so at the time like how he got the "out of order" phone to work. This coupled with his high IQ allows him to fix machines up as well.

Sylar see's how things work and as a result can fix things like a clock, he could probably fix any machine or whatever with his power. But beyond this he can see how people have powers and as a result change his body to have said powers through consumption of there DNA or something else entirely.

Micah's power would never evolve into a power exactly like Sylars.

At most Micah could learn to communicate with living things, controlling them, optimizing them..etc. He wouldn't develop the power to take powers ala Sylar. He might find out what makes people have powers by there bodies telling him such information but its doubtful he could change himself to take/have said power.

Look at Linderman, he can't heal himself but he can heal others. The opposite is true with Claire, she can heal herself but not heal others. So even if we took the giant leap and believe Micah will learn to manipulate living things like technology it still be doubtful he could use said power to allow him to gain powers.

I love how people see Micah pat Monica on the back when he says I wish I could fix you or whatever and now there like ooo he can heal or effect living things or ooo he can become like Sylar.

Its called grasping at straws people... dry.gif

he couldn't though, that's why he said "i wish i could fix you" or something like that

edit: ah you beat me to the post

I should have clarified: My question was just a general inquiry as to what my fellow members thought/ think. And... I do believe Micah was trying to "heal" Monica, but couldn't. I just was curious if the other member's agreed. No worries; it was an honest mistake on my part for not being clear.

Do we really know Linderman couldn't heal himself? It's possible that neither Peter nor Claire would have survived DL's attack. He got hit in the same place the stick, and glass hit.

Well I did theory that Micah may one day be able to edit/program specials powers.

Since the brain is really a sophisticated organic computer.

Sylar finds something broken in person's power he opens heads. (Not for the said persons benefit)

Micah just edits them just like a PC user.
