Any scene with Sylar in it. He saved this episode for me. Enspecially the part where he is talking to Maya's brother knowing full well he can't understand English. Best. Villian. Ever.
Also when Kensei says the line "You taught me how to heal myself but now you wounded me deeper then any sword could." or something to that effect.

Yeah I liked when Kensei said this. You saw just how much it hurt him.. even if he goes evil we still can feel bad for him

Cutest Line by far:
Monica: "My own personal Oprah"

Most badass scene of the Season:
When HRG first got to Ivan, and started speaking in Russian... he may have had a horrible accent, but he sure SOUNDED confident, which made it so cool.
Kitsune
"She's a shiny new toy, and she's all mine."

I mean, it's not just how pretty Sylar was when he said it, it's how half his face was shadowed and there was blood on his face and he had the most delightfully disturbing half smile and oh sweet Christmas my ovaries.

It's not right when I fangirl over a serial killer. Not right at all.
Raine
It's okay. It's not our fault, he's too cute for us not to.
MoonBlade
I gotta give it to the ending, right when Peter opens his eyes to the desolate scene..my mouth dropped and I was like blink.gif 'OMG! Not again!" (in a good way, mind wink.gif ). Truly unexpected.
CharlieNakamura
It kinda made me sad, but I did think the part where HRG shoots the Russian guy - and says he knows this condemns him to Hell - was pretty cool. HRG is best as a ruthless badass. He is willing to do whatever it takes, and that shows how high the stakes are.

Also, I have to admit I was happy that Hiro got to kiss Yaeko. Yeah I know, it's dumb and he's wrecking history for a girl he can't have, but at least he got to kiss SOMEBODY. Too bad that's all he's gonna get. dry.gif
Sheindie
Best Scene: as usual, SYLAR! .. he just dominates the screen.

Best lines: When Mohinder stood up to Bob

Honorable mention: Thanks to Debbie, I now have the term "tubette" stuck in my head. Now I'm getting crazy theories that maybe karma will strike Debbie and she will develop superpowers similar to the Blob (the power to be really really fat). smile.gif
Dr. Chaos
Best scene? HRG putting poor Ivan on ice with the new future revelation close behind.

And while the show feels like it has a rough time really trying to get a cool feudal japan story down sometimes, I thought Masi's busting his acting chops and really making Hiro look tortured with his recent decisions was well done.

I don't particularly buy into the romance myself but Masi is doing his damndest to make it work.

*Kensai gets stabbed*

"I know, it really isn't fair"

Best line of the episode. I believe this is Kensai's first best line, so congrats to him.
EdensDemise
I'm with all the ones listed here.

My top three were the

"She's a shiny new toy and she's all mine."

And the other two go to Kensei.

First for the, " I know, it's not fair."

And his line about Hiro cutting him deeper than any blade ever could.

I'd even go as far to say that Sylar had some competition in this episode for scene stealing.
DaFreak27
Kensais first best line was moments before when he comes up to the guard and says you wouldnt happen to have a swordsmith in there would you

Best: "Miss, did you see any -- flying masked man?" I'm not a big fan of the Claire and West thing, but I just loved how that bit played out. Only thing that spoiled it was Claire afterwards showing remorse for what they'd done to the head cheerleader. (Is the relationship between these two starting to remind anyone of the storyline of "Heathers"?)

Worst: Sylar's whole "I know you can't understand me" speech. Not since Richard III has a writer felt it so necessary to have a villain explain that he's a villain. I've been not-so-secretly hoping that Sylar (excuse me, Gabriel) had somehow begun to reform because of all he's been through, and that any killing he's doing now was purely for self-preservation. Failing that, I was even starting to hope that he might kill Alejandro because he's falling for Maya, and that by having her brother's power he'd make her dependent upon him.
YellowJacket
Ivan: "...you'll condemn yourself to hell!"

Gunshot. Body flying, still tied to chair. Blood spatter everywhere.

Noah: "I know."

I sat straight up and all but cheered! A great sequence! Almost a Punisher quality about it. Wonderful!
Warrior10
Yeah that scene with HRG and Ivan was great.

Mohinder thrashing Bob's lab was an excellent scene too...he redeemed himself for his almost gullible ways.

Best line:

"I want to kill the b-tch" - irish girl
baottousai
i hated the line where irish girl says to shes going t kill the ******... it's just so stupid and it sounded so weird coming from her sleep.gif

i was so sad when HRG killed Ivan... i feel so bad for him =.=
kitty
"...you'll be condemned to hell'
"I know,"

Loved this one because the way he said "I know," was like he was already condemned to hell and there was nothing he could do about it.

"I know you can't understand me, but I'm going to tell you the only reason why I'm helping you. Its because of that delicious power... And when I get my powers back, I'm going to kill you, and even if it doesn't work, it'll still be worth it because your sister is a shiny new toy and she's all mine"

Ok please, who *didn't* like this line?

"You're like my own personal Oprah,"
made me lol

I've gotta agree with you on Masi. I've hated this whole Hiro/Yaeko romance thing from the beginning, but the look on Hiro's face when Yaeko realized that he was the Kensei she fell in love with and when he made that decision to kiss her despite the space/time continuum, I just couldn't help but awwwwww.

Best scene: Claire and West's prank. I laughed out loud.

Worst scene: Mohinder's temper tantrum, I don't why but it made me roll my eyes. It seems that the character recently is doing nothing but stalling, much to the detriment of the good actor portraying him. Not show-killing, but a weak spot of the episode IMO.

Best line: "She's a shiny new toy, and she's all mine." Yes everyone else said so, but it's true.

Worst line: How many times do we have to hear HRG say "Take memory X, take it all, leave nothing." Jean Luc Picard called and he wants "Make it so, number one" back on the top ten list of most used phrases in a show. Can't HRG say the same thing but in a different way? I'm sure the Haitian knows what he wants and the viewing audience isn't clueless either...

My 2 cents
dwhite16
One of my favorite lines was when Debbie was watching tryouts and she said something like " Do you realize how painful this is to watch?" I think the whole scene was painful, so I had to agree.

I liked that scene too....though did anyone else notice that the guard was the same guy that Kensei had paid to pretend to be him in the battle where Hiro first appeared? I found that to be a little ironic. smile.gif

The only scene that really bothered me was the police officer asking Claire is she had seen a flying masked man, and Claire just answers it like its a normal question, as if flying masked people are common or something. And I highly doubt any police office would've been taking it that seriously. As soon as she started talking about a flying man, the officer would've checked her sobriety level!

If someone asked me that, I'd look at them funny and ask them to repeat that. "Huh, a flying what?? Are you on drugs or something? "

FAVORITE LINES:

1. Kensei: ""I know, it really isn't fair" (After getting stabbed)

- I know Sylar's line is way cooler but I just love the way Kensei said this line! Anders is simply great!

2. Sylar: "I know you can't understand me, but I'm going to tell you the only reason why I'm helping you. It's because of that delicious power. And when I get my powers back, I'm going to kill you and your sister and it'll be all mine. And even if I don't, it'll still be worth it because your sister is a shiny new toy and she's all mine."

- Uber creepy! Sylar is a genious when it comes to delivering creepy lines. He is definitely one of the best villains ever. I know some people hate it when villains explain their evil plans but come on! He's saying it to a guy who had no clue what he's talking about. That made the whole scene creepier!

3. Kensei: "First you show me that no weapon could harm me then you cut me deeper then any blade ever could."

- Poor Kensei...I really felt for this guy. Even when they revealed that he betrayed Hiro I didn't hate him at all.

4. Ivan: "You'll condemn yourself to hell!"
Noah: "I know."

- Perfect delivery. Jack Coleman was born for this role. He's definitely one of the best characters in this show. I love how he has this 'loving dad by day; cold-blooded killer by night' kind of thing going on.

5. Monica: "Support, advice and now gifts. You're like my own personal Oprah."

- I just love this line.

WORSE LINE:

West: "Just tell your dad that you met an awesome guy and you need extra time to make-out."

- blink.gif ***puke***

FAVORITE SCENES:

1. Noah killing Ivan.

- That was one intense scene! Jack Coleman was simply amazing!

2. Sylar's little speech in front of Alejandro,.

- It's a creepy Sylar scene...need I say more?

3. Peter teleporting to the future.

- It was totally unexpected! And I have been waiting for ages for Peter to use Hiro's abilities. When he teleported, I actually yelled "yatta"!

4. Claire and West's flying masked-man prank.

- That was a fun scene! Evil but fun! Someone said West and Claire was starting to remind them of 'Heathers'...well, I definitely agree. Although West is no Christian Slater.

5. Monica doing some gymnastics moves.

- I just love Monica's ability. And I'm glad she's doing something cooler than jumping on ropes!

WORSE SCENE:

1. Claire's cheerleading routine.

- That was painful to watch! dry.gif

Peterelli
Sylar Wins. Hands Down.

He is a great character and, yes, he saved the episode from being quite a bad one with his speech.

Yep, I also have to go with HRG's scene. I just wanted to post more about Why it was so great.

Others have mentioned the exchange just at the end:

"You will condemn yourself to hell!"
*bang*
"I know."

But there are other factors:

The pause before HRG said, "I know." He had also, slightly lowered the gun. It was clear, then, that he almost wavered, ever so slightly. This weighed very heavily on him. There was that brief moment, as he teetered on the line (heh). And then he steeled himself and crossed it, knowing there was no going back.

Further, the music stopped. You will note that there is almost always music in the background, very subtle most of the time, but it's there. They also often have music for scene changes. In this case, though, by the time he'd fired, the music had stopped entirely, and we faded to black in silence.

Very Powerful. It left me stunned, and somewhat disquieted, which I am sure was the intent.
MisterCyotie
My favourite line actually goes to West for this one

"I can fly. It kills the whole parental-Issue"

Somthing like that. Made me giggle.

Worst scene:
The prank by Claire and West. Graphic was awful. Especially when claire dropped on the stairs. Disappointing...
gadgetfusion
This is definitely one of the best episodes of Season 2. I might be hated for this, but I actually liked it better than Cautionary Tales. Six times during this episode, I cheered:

1. Mohinder stands up to Bob
2. Claire and West get revenge on Debbie
3. Hiro kisses Yaeko
4. Sylar's speech to Alejandro
5. HRG shoots Ivan
6. Peter and Caitlin teleport to the future

All of the characters were so awesome in this episode. Every storyline just seemed more interesting. I hated Hiro and Yaeko together, but that kiss just seemed so right for some reason. I hated Claire and West together, but it was great seeing some excellent and hilarious revenge. I hated Maya and Alejandro, but Sylar made it so much better. I hated Mohinder's moral confusions, but it was cool to see him saving Monica. I hated Peter and Caitlin together, but seeing them land in the future reminded me of Five Years Gone, which is my favorite episode ever. HRG and The Haitian were already awesome, so this just made them even cooler. I don't know why, but this episode seemed to be moving things along so well.
