Maya...
How come she believed every word Sylar told her?
How come she didn't listen to her dear brother but Sylar?
Was it because she was too innocent to see the truth or worse she has already fallen in love with Sylar and too blind to see his evilness?
I have a feeling she is going to turn evil because of Sylar in the future.

Maybe because she hasn't seen any harm/evil in Sylar...yet.

I think it's kind of similar to Stockholm Syndrome. Maya is on the run, desperate for answers as to why she can do these things and what is happening to her. Bear in mind Alejandro is as in the dark about it as she is. All of a sudden, she meets a stranger who not only knows what's going on but is willing to help her find someone who can fix it. She's caught up in the moment and is too blinded by relief and gratitude that she isn't paying attention to who the guy actually is.
Edit: Here's a hypothetical situation to emphasise my point. You're lost in the desert, and you've just run out of water. The sun's beating down on you, your lips are cracked and parched with thirst, and you're at your wits' end. Suddenly a man appears as if from nowhere carrying a huge axe, and he tells you that there's water not far from where you are. Now you're not going to think "I'm not going to trust this guy, he's probably just going to chop me up into tiny bits!" you're probably going to think "Wow, what a nice man, to help me find water! I'd better get there quickly before I die of thirst!" and even though you're probably going to end up being chopped into tiny bits, you wouldn't have considered that at the time.

yeah i agree with trihan...
she is just so desperate for help and answers she doesn't see what's really going on here. that and the fact that sylar is an extremely manipulative person.

Does it say something about me that I would follow the guy but still not trust him?
On topic though, Maya seems to be a very religious person and finding a person in the middle of the desert, named Gabriel, who just happens to know the guy they are trying to find and used to have powers... She probably thinks he's an angel or some such nonsense.

Especially since that's what she called him when they first met...
I think a lot of people confuse desperation with stupidity. I do wish she'd shut her mouth tho. She tells him too much, and I have a bad feeling Alejandro's going to pay the price for it.
I don't think Maya will die by Sylar's hand, however.

You see, but that's just because you see the side of Sylar that Maya isn't seeing. How is she supposed to know that he's a bad guy?
Sylar has never given her a reason to not trust him. He found out she was a "murderer" and helped her get away, he empathized with her on her dilenma. And now, he risks his life for her to get out of the grasps of the border control? Her trust in him is full.

We're a little too biased to understand Maya. We know what Sylar can do, and we know his personality. Maya sees in him the angel that was put on her way to help her with her powers. She doesn't know about anything he's done, or how he really is.
But geez, that look on his eyes would have freaked me out. It freaked me out from home, darn, why does Zach has to be such a great actor?

Yeah, I have to say that it's nothing like Stockholm Syndrome or following an ax murderer in the desert (though let me tell you, I've been there...I was in Ireland and went up to these cliffs in the middle of a hailstorm, and then walked about 8 miles in the rain trying to get back to town, which was very far, and was ready to fall over and pass out on the road, and some guy pulled up in a really shady looking pickup truck and asked if I wanted a lift back to town, and I jumped right in, actually thinking to myself 'he's probably a killer, but who cares'...as it happens, he was the nephew of the woman running the B&B I was staying at, and drove me straight to the front door lol).
But back on topic...I don't think it's really desperation in Maya's case so much as the religious aspect. I mean sure, they are desperate - both of them are. But Alejandro does not seem so affected by faith as Maya. He's logical about it - "get my sister to the US, to Dr. Suresh, and find a cure". Maya, however, is constantly praying to god, constantly looking for signs, miracles, etc. and then they come across a man in the middle of nowhere who just happens to be going home to NYC, who also happens to have not only read the book but know the author of it, who isn't afraid of their abilities but is trying to help them (all in her eyes, of course)...well yeah, why wouldn't she trust him? She's got the hardcore faith thing going on, and considers him something of a miracle. Which makes it just that much cooler, really excited to see where it goes :*)

And if she saw that look in her eyes, she prolly would've melted, just like I did...

Heroes - Angels - Maya & Sylar
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwaM1e29yGcThis video is great! The lyrics is a perfect match to the future relationship between Maya and Sylar.
Sylar: If I couldn't get my powers back; it wouldn't be a totally loss. Maya is a quick learner; she is a new shiny toy and she's all mine!
The words Sylar said to Ale seems foreshadowing something is going to happen between Maya and Sylar.

Funnily, that would be the very thing to arouse my suspicion.

So its not out of line for me to write a fan fiction where Sylar's actually interested in boinking Maya and not just she in him. I'm not saying he's in love but he seems definitelyin lust...or they both are. Or is he only interested in manipulating Maya's feelings for him to use her power at HIS will?

I think she just sees something that we don't.

It's simple. Maya is very religious, and in the writers' view (and the view of most in Hollyweird) religious=stupid. She believes in signs and trusts in God so she needs to be shown to be a fool in order to justify their worldview.
