Am I the only one who thinks that West is cute? He has nice eyes and great lips.

I dont like him, he has an annoying attitude and a very annoying character, I swear I could easily hit him if I knew him in person

I'm interested if they decide to turn his character into a main evil hero later in the series (see my thread titled West is a bad guy.)

I think the main dislike has more to do with his personality than his looks. His character first started out as creepy, stalker-guy. I mean, who stands at the window of someone they barely know and just watch? And this episode he convinced Claire to do something that she knows she shouldn't be doing. Now I won't pin that on him since she's responsible for her own actions. (That's like a parent blaming his child's best friend for his child drinking alcohol just because the friend had it first.) But you've got to admit they're playing him off as a bit creepy. (Well I guess you don't have to... but seems so to me.)

I like his character a bit if only because he is so strange. I'm intrigued to see how they develop that, particularly considering the parent comment.

He makes claire a bit more alive and that's exactly what she were missing her whole live.
Being real, being alive! That's why she goes over her limits sometimes trying to live her life a little as a teenager should do.

By that I don't mean doing bad things and to be honest even they scared debby a bit, they didn't put themselves in real danger (except if someone else would had seen what happened) since Debby was drunk anyway.

I can't say that she didn't deserved the lesson.
On the other hand, HRG is talking about "Trust" and no more secrets in the family and than he still keeps lying to claire the whole way so, I don't feel sorry for him when she does the same to him.

Of course we could say that she should be better than he is in that case but don't you think that you were feed up if your dear father would lie to you, your whole life and dissappoint you the whole line?

To me it doesn't seem that he does everything for the family like he says. He just using it as an excuse to justify his evil doings.

I did think he was super annoying/dumb with his whole "Are you an alien or a robot?" ice breaker, but he has been growing on me. Claire, however has been doing just the opposite. The more I like him the less I like Claire.

This is sort of shallow, but I actually think he's really unattractive. And I thought he's not good-looking enough for Claire! That, and well, I'm really fond of stalkers. Especially ones that can fly.

i think he's an OK character. I think I like him more because the people that dislike him are annoying and it makes me happy to ****** them off.

I have to say I don't give a crap about how any character on T.V. looks first off. Is he a good looking young man? Sure. Why would laire bother with an ugly guy? Should he be trusted by the fans? No way! In the most recent episode we got to see a fun super-powered version of the movie "Heathers" for a sec. West seems to be that Christian Slater "bad guy" right now. From what we know of him though, we have no total right to hate him because he was screwed up by the Company. In time we will discover the depths of West and I think it will be very interesting.

Now that you mention it I think that's why I like Caitlin so much. I mean yeah she's an irish girl and that's great, but it really makes me happy to see all the Peter fanboys/girls ****** off about her and Peter.

I'm a recent arrival here, so haven't read a lot of what other people are saying, but I like her. I liked her brother too, and wasn't happy to see him roasted by Veronica Mars, of all people.

Anyway, this is the West thread, and I personally can't stand him, they have to be writing him that annoying on purpose, and I think it's a weak decision. I think he brings the show down, annoying dialogue, unconvincing delivery... Hell, the 2 kids (Micah and Molly) are far better actors than he is. So far I've pretty much loathed all the scenes he's been in, with the exception of where he's talking about H.R.G/Noah.

Claire is actually getting annoying now too lol. She was critical to the development of the first season, but now I find myself pretty uninterested in her and more interested in the plot about her father. I'm just rambling now, lol, but I do find her "arc" this year to be tedious.

If I had to pick a new favorite character this year, it would be Monica. Shes cute, shes convincing, and her character has one of the coolest powers ever.

I think West could have been OK ... but we are getting hints and clues along the way that he is leaning towards the 'dark side'. He has a superiority complex, does not respect authority, is manupulative and uses his powers for his own selfish reasons. He has the classic makings of a 'bad guy'. I could go on.

He is not a sweet kid and is bad news. The foreshadowing is quite obvious. He is a bad influence for Claire, and she will not be a hero at all if she continues to be swayed by West. Faking a death to traumatize a cheerleader in order to support lying to her father. Heroic? I think not. That was the last straw for me. West is on my bad list officially.

Personally I'm hoping that HRG lays a beatdown on him.

At first, I was defending the guy. Saying he's just misunderstood and all...but the more I get to know him, the more I dislike him. First thing, he looks too old to be playing a highschool student (In fact he IS too old to be a highschool student). Second, he's not a bad looking guy but not good-looking enough to make girls swoon. He just doesn't have that certain something that makes fangirls go gaga. I mean, Peter makes me giggle like a schoolgirl, even Sylar has a certain hotness. But West? nothing...He's just...blank. His eyes look empty as if there's no soul in there or something. And the whole 'Heathers' moment...As fun as it was to watch, it just didn't feel right for Claire to do something like that. And it got me thinking that West really is bad news! And don't you find it suspicious that he always avoid the 'parents' topic? He's just too shady for my liking.

I'm a West fan. I've been one from the beginning. He's such a lively character and it's such a breath of fresh air to see someone enjoying his power.

I never know what he's going to do next, that's what makes him interesting to me.

EXACTLY. everyone else on the show. is "I have a power. interesting" and then would go about their daily lives (maybe except peter last season). West is like "i have a power? Awesome!" *flies away*

I totally second that, it is nice to see a character that isn't a recluse about his/her power. West's to me actually reacting pretty much like any kid his age would to the fact that could fly.

Seriously, if I could fly I probably wouldn't be walking around all the time- why it may not be the smartest thing to do I would still do it anyways.

Sure his personality a bit off the beaten path when comes to the super hero spectrum, but that only makes it better.

"it's such a breath of fresh air" is an excellent way to descirbe what West has added to show whether you like him or not is up to your own opinion.

I don't like his hair. And I think he's a bit too old for Claire. Isn't he 27 or something .. and she's still a teen?

Oh, and he's a bit too tall for her also. He has to bend his back to talk to her.
