I have to say that I'm a little disappointed that the was NO mention of what happened to Sylar in Four Months Ago. He's a popular character (one of my favorites) and he was left with quite the cliffhanger after seasone one ended. What the...well you know...?

I completely agree.. I mean, we spent all that time with Peter... Maybe a mention of Sylar would have been a little good?
The same with Matt, we just have to pretend like getting 5 bullets to the chest in nothing?

How did candice wind up in the sewer? Why did she drag him in there?
Very disappointed

The fact that they said "where did sylar go?" does make it pretty disappointing but he did say he was going to be working on star trek and wouldn't be in the scene as much.

I think we can all just safely assume Bob and Elle intercepted Sylar and the Haitian did the Vulcan mind trick on him while they exported him to Mexico. We didn't really need to see it, but it would have been better than seeing Niki's trip to LA.

When Sylar is with michelle she says that he went through a four operations to get him into his current state so im sure for the past four months the company kept him drugged up so his wounds could heal.

I'd rather have seen Sylar than Maya and Alejandro.
Seriously, I found next to no point to showing their backstory. She makes people die. He makes them un-die. I honestly don't care where or when exactly it started off, the point is that it was happening and they ran to get help. The graphic novels explain that the cops are after them, which isn't exactly a mystery either. The backstory was just as redundant as every other episode they've been in.

Nov 12 2007, 07:17 PM
I bet its a deleted scene, the episode got too long so they cute it because we have a general idea what he was up to (dragged off, healed, druged to be powerless), so it could be left off to make room for the others. For MAtt, I dount they planned that cbecause we do know what happened to him.

I think the Company should have just let him die - but then again, Heroes wouldn't be fun without him around. Well, unless Adam takes his place (or someone else does, for that matter).

So long as they do something really clever at the end like have Sylar meet whoever ordered candice to watch over him in the middle of nowhere, and at the same moment realize his powers are back =D I good "OMG" moment right before the "To be continued" season finale would be a nice way to start this extra long hiatus and the only reason I'd forgive them not explaining anything this episode.
I completely forgot about matt and his divorce, but I guess they've been making it subtely obvious throughout the season with them saying it wasn't his; figure he'd have no choice but to leave and start over?

Nov 12 2007, 07:20 PM
I guess I was assuming there was much more mystery to his disappearance from Kirby Plaza which would be at least partially revealed. I didn't really believe Candace dragged his bloody body into a sewer system all by herself. And after all the things Bob has mentioned about Sylar being a killer, it didn't seem like he had anything to do with his surgeries or leaving a valuable Company associate with a murderer in Mexico.

I wish I could be so casual about it. But this is SYLAR! One of their most popular characters, surrounded by a huge mystery at the end of last season's finale! I would have gladly cut all the Maya & Alejandro scenes to find out what happened to him. Worst of all was the preview specifically implying that we'd find out what happened, with the blood trail going into the drain, etc. Argh!! (there are many other exclamations I'd like to make at this point, but I want to keep it clean..)
It's been awhile since I can remember a show doing something this boneheaded. I seriously thought I missed a scene! I can't believe it! Such a huge flaw in an otherwise great episode. (Sigh!)
Looking forward to next week!

It's not so much that I want to know what he was doing; we all know what he was doing, he was out cold on a surgery table getting fixed up for four months. What I was interested in finally seeing is WHO gave the order to candice, who was behind the phone call checking up on him, who actually wants this mad man alive? Well... I do.. but who in the show I wonder..

During each commercial break I was yelling at the TV:
"WHAT HAPPENED TO SYLAR?"
Even if Quinto is filming Star Trek, one scene would have taken care of everyone's curiosity. They should have wrapped up Kirby plaza during the intro, or immediatly after. They were only there for 5 seconds before Peter and Nathan took off, I thought they would have shown more here.
The Maya and Alejandro story could have been shown in one scene. Maya kills everyone at the wedding, they get scared and run away. More than enough backstory for me. Instead it almost felt like they were killing time.
We've all been pretty patient so far. I hope the graphic novel tomorrow is Sylar's story.
mcb
Nov 12 2007, 07:48 PM
That is my hope too Slusho. Sylar's story is too much for a few little scenes and he needs his own GN to tell is story (here's to hoping). It might give a little incentive to those not reading the GNs to start in order find out all the background info on Sylar's last four months.

Pretty disappointing that they advertised addressing what happened to Sylar but didn't even have anything about it in the episode.
I guess we can kinda assume what happened to a degree. We know Candace rescued him and brought him to the Company. And over the course of 4 months performed surgery on his wound. Still don't know exactly why he was taken all the way to Mexico.
I'm guessing that they were using the same stuff used on Peter to suppress Sylar's powers. If that's the case it should take about 5 days until Sylar gets his powers back, as that's how long it took Peter. It's already been a few days, so it shouldn't be too long until his powers return. Next episode or 2 I would guess. Maya and Alejandro better be ready.

Was anybody else dissapointed that there was no Sylar in this episode?
I wish there could have been at lest one scene with him.
In saying this, I don't count the part with him, Maya and Alenjandro.
But it would have been so awesome to see Candice drag him down the manhole.
Althought Missy Peregyrm(sp?) is on Reaper now.. so that may be the reason.

That's a great possibility, hadn't even thought of it. It would be even more clever because the writers were hinting at when he'll get his powers back through peter saying how many days worth of doses he's skipped to get them back. I hope they aren't ready, I wanna see Sylar eat Alejandro's brain and Maya try to kill him with the Black Tears but it doesn't work >: D

i am so upset! they lied to us in the preview last week.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=X7eAvOnAwcA they clearly stated, you have questions, what happened after the bomb, where did sylar go, etc, now the wait is over, next monday, your questions will be answered. Yeah, the shouldn't have advertised about What happened to Sylar and then not show anything. But really, we kinda know already. Candice/Betty said she rescued him from Kirby Plaza and that he's had 4 surgeries to fix his injury, and is still recovering 4 months later. So we already know that. I agree about the twins, though it was a good scene, very emotional, but we already saw her kill so many people already. Are they just setting up a contrast of how Maya y Alejandro react to murdering people and how Sylar will react whenever he gets his powers back? He must have been on the suppressent. At first I thought it was a strain of the virus, since it also suppresses powers, but I guess it's just an inhibitor.

This question was already answered when we first see sylar in season 2, candice (michelle) tells him that she was the one who pulled him off kirby plaza. Then she goes on to say that after four operations the people she works for were able to get him into the condition he was in, in that episode. Based off that its pretty clear that Sylar spent a good portion of the last four months in a bed while being very drugged up to insure his wounds would heal faster.

Yeah the preview specifically said "What happened to Sylar?" or something to that effect. Either there were rewrites, or more likely NBC goofed when making the promo.
