Does this mean that there are only 3 episodes left? It seems like its wraping up too fast if thats the case. and I guess it also means the stike ffected the show?

Please tell me that the disease is not the end of the season.
SuperT
Vol. 2 was gonna end in eleven episodes either way, so the strike doesn't really have that much to do with it. The strike is affecting what happens after episode eleven.

The series was going to end in 11 eps? Hm. I wonder how Maya/Sylar will fit into the story, in 3 episodes? It seems the current virus story doesn't even need them...

I have answered this elsewhere, but I feel their story was never meant to jump in this quick. In a 23 episode season, they may have fit in perfect, but down to 11.. they will be cut short.

no u guys!, its the mid season break!

like last year, episode 11: fallout
when peter sees the vision of himself exploding. then we had tht long break.

No, the series was not ending in eleven episodes. Season two was going to be divided into two Volumes. Vol. 2 "Generations" which is what is airing right now, was originally set to go for eleven episodes. After the eleventh episode, the show was to go on hiatus for the holiday, then come back in January to start the second half of season 2 with Vol. 3 "Exodus." Because of the writers strike, the season is ending early at episode eleven, and we won't be get getting the second half of season two unless the writers strike ends sometime soon or over the holiday hiatus, which is unlikely.

no ur wrong actually. the strike (for now ) is not effecting heroes episodes. its supposed to have a break after episode 11.
same thing last year.

fallout-episode 11.

recall?

I thought volume 2 was originally suppose to be 13-14 episodes?
-DeMoN-
Anyone know what Exodus was supposed to be about?

As for this season, I agree that things are wrapping up too fast. But if this volume ties into Exodus, then I can see a big cliffhanger. If the strike continues and we don't get Exodus, we get some crappy thrown together Season 2 finale that somehow wraps up EVERYTHING.
yungeric
ok I say we all boycott NBC and all other affiliate networks until the writers get what they want.
hurrican5547
We'll most likely still see the second half of season two, even if it is marketed as Season 3

Sorry to inform you but since neither side is budging, the writer's will be striking for months, so don't expect anything past episode 11 this season.

Right. But unlike last year. They cant have a completed Vol 3 written or in production by the break due to the writers strike. Therefore Episode 11 was reshot to be a season ender. They said "if needed," but don't expect this to blow over in the next 3 weeks.

I'm member 73000 or something... which means we prolly have close to a hundred thousand members... if everyone throws in 10 bucks that'll be about a million, then we can all go to hollywood and pay them in cash. Or beat them into finsihing the season, etiher way

URAINAH
yeah..the season is getting cut short, and remember that wonderfully awesome Heroes:Origins we were supposed to get during the long break? Not happening either. That was one of the first victims of the strike. Do all of these writer's have a lot of savings or something? Or do they continue to get their residuals or whatever? Because the holidays are upon us and I know I'm always broke buying Christmas presents even when I'm working. Why won't the networks just give them what they want already!?!? They're losing more money otherwise.

WTF!?!? This season like, just started! It may not be so bad if they kinda did fewer and fewer episodes each season, so we'd get used to less episodes atleast. But I as expecting another 20-something episode season!

People, PAY ATTENTION. Volumes are not the same thing as seasons.

Season 1 = Volume 1
Season 2 = Volume 2 + Volume 3

Optimism or not, if the strike even goes a short time they would have to cut the season. It's not like you can just make an episode every week. Shows take time to film and edit (especially ones that use as much CGI as Heroes). If they can't film them, they won't be ready to air by then end of whatever hiatus would normally occur.

How about you pay attention. What we are talking about is how Volume 3 is going to be cut this season "most likely" because of the writer's strike. It is best to prepare yourself just in case.

They already have a few episodes, I think up to 14 or 15, so they have a little bit of padding.
odm
regardless of whether or not episode 11 was the last before the hiatus, the writers' strike has caused them to go back and re-do the ending of the episode as if it were the actual season finale. hopefully when the dvd set comes out they include the original version of the episode.
maz57
I'm guessing the re-shooting of ep 11 happened a while ago and the news of it just came out as the strike was close to happening. I would assume the re-shoot took some writing, so we know that it wasn't just a last minute idea. Or if it was, then I would expect a crappy quickly edited episode to clean everything up.

Hopefully they prepared for the strike at the beginning of season 2 and planned on doing 2 different ep. 11's all along so the writing for both would be on par with each other and each ending setting up the next Volume well.

This sounds like good news to me...

'Heroes' Saved: Writers' Strike Won't Put Superheroes Show In A Bind

Actually, the article says what we've already known. The season two is in two volumes (Vol 2 and Vol 3). If the writer's strike continues, then they reshot episode 11 to go from a Season 2, Volume 2 ending (preparing for Season 2, Volume 3 beginning) to a Season 2 ending period. Volume 3 would then be Season 3 in the fall instead of the second part of Season 2.

From the article:
If the writers' strike continues long enough to be disruptive to air the second story arc, "Powerless" can become the season finale, and the second self-contained arc, "Volume III," could kick off season three.
kiblerfaeri
OK, so let's recap to see if we got this straight:

Season 2 was originally intended to be split into Volumes 2 and 3.

Episode 2x11 was originally intended to close Volume 2, leading into mid-season break.

Writers' strike begins.

Parts of episode 2x11 are being re-shot to possibly serve as a season finale.

If writers' strike continues into early December, the re-shot episode will air.

Volume 3 will be pushed back to season 3, instead of airing as the second half of seaon 2.

Everyone ok with this?
