I've only seen it once so far, but was that a girl calling him, or was it Peter using telepathy?

think it was a girl calling the officer, unless Pete absorbed some ventriloquism

Talking of Jedi, did anyone hear the distant voice of dead Obi-Wan Kanobi calling for young Luke to use his powers in this episode?

"Come on Luke, use the force!"

Here, as Adam from the next cell:

"Come on Peter, you can do it, use your powers!"

Maybe it was just me.

I would love to know how Peter knew to use DL's power to phase through the walls of the cell when he never even knew of the man who used this power or that this power even existed..

Or did I miss a scene somewhere? I know they were in Kirby Plaza together, but Peter was pretty busy fighting Sylar and trying not to explode, and DL was shot... and I don't remember Peter phasing during that fight.

That's what I was wondering, unless he accidently phased at sometime that we didn't see he wouldn't know he could do that.

It's his mom's power

obviously if he has other people's abilities who he's hung around, he definately has his mother's..no secret here, just using his mom's mental powers




They did show this in the first episode this season...he phased through the handcuffs and was all surprised afterwards that he did it, so thats how he knew he had that ability

This episode is four months before that scene ever happened. The reason he was surprised is because he had no memory of what he was able to do.

How he knew how to use it in this episode? - I don't really know about that...

He put his hands on the walls like he knew he was able to phase, even though we have NEVER seen him use the power before now, and he apparently was having his powers suppressed ever since joining up with the Company.

As just_a_fan stated, the handcuffs scene was further in the future. Timeline wise, this is the first time we saw Peter phase...

Adam told Peter to do it. Adam knew Peter could do it because Elle had told Adam about what happened to Linderman and how - and the events in Kirby Plaza.

Adam knew to touch Peter to get out and piggy back along. This info emerged from the security tapes at Linderman's office. You will note that Peter never told Adam to do that nor did he grab his hand. Adam knew that it would work and what he had to do in order to make it work.

For a guy in a cell for 30 years, he's awfully well informed. And with a fresh "open" plane ticket too.

I had though the traitor was Bob. On relfection, another poster has suggested Elle is the traitor who has been working for Adam to put his plan in motion. This makes more sense to me and I am buying into that one.

You might be right Steel_Wind. I don't remember Adam telling Peter to phase through the wall, but I might have missed that line of dialogue. That, or he told Peter about it off-screen.

What I'm wondering now is, if Adam is truly bad, Peter should be able to read is thoughts and tell...

good point, I forgot that it happened after and not before..Perhaps it was just instinct, like the first time he used TK when Claude was attacking him with the metal pipe thing

on the premise that Peter has absorbed DL's power while in Kirby Plaza, thus being able to move through the cell wall, it would seem reasonable to assume that he also absorbed Mica's power too while in Kirby Plaza, although this was not confirmed in this episode, it would explain how he came by tickets/passport/cash so easily.

He 'phased' out of the ropes when he was tied down to the chair back in Cork.

That's what he means by "handcuffs", and it happened after he escaped from the Company.

I just watched it again, finally. The cop was approaching Peter to question him, Peter looked past the cop, a voice said "officer, officer, I need your help", the cop turned to exactly where Peter was looking and found nobody there calling him. As soon as the cop turned to look, Peter turned around and invisible, and walked away.

I say Peter used Matts telepathy to project a thought into the cops mind, in order to distract him for a second.

I am aware of this. The ropes escape was in the future, relative to what we saw Peter do in "4 Months Ago".

I thought a nurse shouted the police officer. It was definately a womans voice that was heard.

Yes, it was a womans voice, but he turned around to look, and found nobody.

Maybe she was asking for help, and the cop was turning around to say something like, " I'll deal with you later." or something, and he was then gone. Also, had Peter been anywhere near Candice at that time, because if he had he could have absorbed her ability and then maybe created the nurse using an illusion.
