Could those whose memory has been wiped by the Haitian regain their lost memories if they received a transfusion of blood from Adam(/Claire/Peter? etc)?

Cellular regeneration of tissue is automatic based on DNA (to grossly oversimplify), Peter needed to focus to regain his memories, but still, it didn't seem all that much of a stretch.

Also, how does this relate to the Haitian's little drawing of pulling strands out of the mind in the GN? Was that just a bit of expressionism on his part, or did he and perhaps does he still, not quite understand how his own power works? I know the GNs aren't top level canon, but I feel it has been implied in the show itself that he draws the memories out and they're gone forever.

There is the strong implication that this is true.

The only thing that goes against this is the fact that Peter had to focus/localize his healing ability to heal the damaged area of his brain. We don't know if the person receiving the blood could also focus/localize the ability. We don't know if they even have to. Peter is a little different than Claire and Adam, and we don't know if Claire or Adam would similarly need to focus/localize the ability.

In the end, we won't know for certain until someone on the show tries it, but the signs point toward yes.

I thought more immediately of Sandra Bennet and her condition after being repeatedly mind-wiped by the Haitian. The doctors said that a particular part of Sandra's brain had been damaged (did they say it was hemorrhaging?). That made it clear that the Haitian's ability involved causing damage to his target's brain.

The worms picture is just how the Haitian views his power working. It may be literally what he is seeing when he does his thing or not, however, it's clear something else physically is happening to his targets.

johnnygriff,

Great observation and question. I believe that the Haitian draws the memories out and they are gone forever as far as the Haitian himself retrieving or returning them is concerned.

THink of it like this, when a person creates a memory or learns something, various physical pathways are developed in the brain for that specific memory. This occurs at an alarming rate in infant - toddler stage which is why so many people talk about the learning environment of a child when they're at that stage (I know that was extra info..but the more we learn haha).

Well, the Haitian's ability probably works by cutting those pathways to where the memories have been stored. So, when Peter needed to remember, he had to rebuild the "roads" that were destroyed by the Haitian.

His mind was damaged through the mind wipe. Simple as that.

Great observation, I am usually on the ball, but I totally missed that one.
