So Elle said she set a house on fire when she was six...could this have a connection to the fire Claire was in or did Meredith confirm that she started the fire?

She looks to be about the same age as Claire. She'd have to have been very young at the time.

Elle said she was 25. Claire is no more than 17.

I think Claire is 17 (18?) in the show. Elle said last night that she was 24 years old. So there's about a six year difference between them. If indeed Elle did set the fire, Claire would have had to have been a year old or thereabouts.

I'm not sure if it was confirmed that Meredith set the fire -- didn't Elle say she set fire to her grandmother's house?

Interesting. Could point to some additional family connections (as many have speculated); the Heroes family tree is starting to look like it came straight out of a soap opera.

that makes a lot of sense! plus elle apparently has ties with claire and hrg so its highly possible

what 'apparent' ties? i'm not aware of any such thing.

also, she started a fire on peter's back when he got shocked. lightning can set trees on fire. therefore, this probably shouldn't be looked too far into other than a case of her being out of control of her powers and one of her sparks setting something on fire.

But still, Claire was an infant, so Elle was only 6 or 7. That's pretty young for powers, unless she started it in a more mundane way.

Though, maybe the two are half sisters. Bob may have had a little fun with Meredith, too. That may be why she's been in hiding for so long. I hope she comes back, I'd like to see Meredith, again.

I thought about this as well and automatically assumed that yes she is related to Claire on the maternal side, but didn't want to say anything because I don't like spoiling myself or others.

She set a fire at her grandmother's house when she was six, thus possibly making her Meredith's biological sister or neice (Claire's biological aunt or cousin), and thus the kiss between Peter and her would not be incestous, since the creators would definitely never go that route. All they need to do is somehow relate Niki to Claire, Meredith and Elle...finally explaining why are so many blond women on this show.

Of course, innocent until proven guilty.

I'm pretty sure that Claire's had her powers since birth -- though maybe she's only had hers since birth since what she does is more of an inherent thing that doesn't really require any focusing of thought. Elle may have also had her power from birth but figured out it existed and/or how to use it very early on in life.

I'm not sure if this was in the GN or the show, but I remember in the scene when Kaito was handing over Claire to HRG, someone said that they were doing a bag-n-tag on Meredith and then she set fire to the house. Which is why they had Claire.

They've led us to believe that Claire didn't realize her powers until she became a cheerleader. We've been led to believe the Company didn't know her power when they gave her to Noah. Kaito used the word "if". That leads me to assume that Claire was not burned in the fire, and didn't use her advanced regeneration at that time.

Of course, we don't know what happened the time her mom mentioned she was sick, as an infant.

I doubt that Claire and Elle are half sisters. Meredith was pretty young when she had Claire. I doubt that she would have had another child 6 years earlier, but the writers seem to have lost all semblance of trying to make sense out of things and who knows what they'll say next.

Elle has certainly nothing to do with the fire which Claire was rescued from. I just looked the GN over again, and it is not even a house, but a hotel room.

Claire's 16. And not even halfway to 17.

The fact that she specifically mentions she burned the house down when she was eight and that she's now 24(meaning she burned the house down 16 years ago) is telling to me. This corresponds too closely with the Claire house fire, since Claire was a baby around a year old at the time she was in her house fire and is now about 17(also 16 years ago). I doubt it was just thrown in there by coincidence. I would bet money Elle turns out to have burned down baby Claire's house.

what if claire + ellie shared the same mom, because claire's mom (fire woman) looks similar to ellie. maybe their grandma was also in the house when it got burnt down. i bet they're sisters, ellie + claire. i don't think Nathan is Claire's biological father as they claim. he can't be, they look nothing alike, and that other guy who can fly who's dating claire, looks more like nathan's kid. and if ellie + claire are related somehow, then that makes the ellie + peter kiss incestuous, and frankly i lovvvveee the peter/ellie combo..

I don't think that is true, because I believe it was clearly established last year that Claire's biological mother accidentally set the fire with her power to create fire.

Um, where? A lot of fans have speculated over time that she started the fire, but I'm very certain there's been nothing on the show to indicate this to be the case. In fact, all Claire's mother herself actually says about it, I believe, is that someone was out to get her, not that she started the fire herself.

too young for powers?

how old is molly?
JackManic
you are correct that it doesnt mention it in the show but it does in the GN. She said someone was after her because there was. The company was after her HRG and Claude were sent to bag and tag her but she must have heard claude when he tried to tranquilize her because she blew up. Claire never got burnt because HRG was there to scoop her up and carry her out upon claudes order.

so this whole claire/elle relation thing is not right. I think the relation that is being referred to is that elle was an adoptive daughter to bob like claire is to HRG. Nothing more then that.

I think this is far more likely, in fact I would put money on it... since it doesnt take much to figure out plotlines any more. Why, because Claire can't be related to Elle at all thats just gross.
Elles upbringing can be a direct parallel to Claire and her upbringing, I don't think Bob is her bio dad, just the company dad. Claires seemingly (grain of salt) mature approach to life with powers an opposite to Elle who knew about her powers early on utilising them, or misusing them as some cases maybe...
