i think the box was ricky's. the passport, plane ticket was given to peter by adam oustide the hospital. peter already had the photo that he got from nathan's room in the hospital as well. they were already on him when the haitian put him on the container. ricky found all these on him and put it in the box.

ricky did say "in this box is every thing that was found on you", something like that, so the box was most likely ricky's and he just put everything in it himself
