I was just wondering... uhh... Why is HRG's death so important? Why did isaac paint his death? Why is it so important to stop HRG from dying?

I'm just saying. I don't want him to die, but they've killed off plenty of characters before now without warning, and now for some reason it is so important to keep HRG alive? I don't get it... why is he so important?

Just because Isaac paints it doesn't mean it's important to keep him alive. It could just be an pivotal moment in history in terms of Claire. I don't think he's going to die. I'm hoping it's Sylar Candace's ability to get to Claire by disguising himself as HRG like he did in the 5YG disguised as Nathan. We see Mohinder there and we know Sylar is looking for him so it could happen. I think at that point HRG will let the world think he's dead.

Not sure what the writers would need him for, other than he's Claire's adoptive father. Would sort of destroy Claire's storyline in the process if he does get offed
thrillho
it's important for him, because, like most people, he doesn't want to die.

also, it's bennet! HRG! he's an awesome character, and i would say the most interesting. he can't go, no!

I'm still not convinced that is HRG in the painting, and I don't know why Noah automatically jumped to the conclusion that it was him either. You can't see the face very well, the glasses are the only really reckonizable feature, and how many thousands of people wear glasses? Yes, with the cheerleader in the background, it does make it more likely that he would think it's him, but I'm still thinking that it is Bob who gets the bullet through the eye. The shirt the person in the painting is wearing is much more similiar to something Bob would wear, not HRG. Just my 2 cents. smile.gif

It doesn't make sense though... in any case, Isaac drew all those paintings BEFORE he died which took place well before the explosion and the events in Kirby Plaza. We see HRG alive in "5 Years Gone" which would mean, that HRG DID change his faith, which would pose 2 different questions:

Is it really HRG? And how did he alter his faith?
or
Is it someone else?

I know that we can change the future because they did stop the explosion in Kirby Plaza but would that make any sense? Or did Isaac draw all possible conclusions or possible events, even if they don't occur? Continuity seems to be off.

In what way does the painting indicate to you that it's important to stop HRG from dying? Did the painting of Kaito's death mean they had to prevent it from happening? Or the painting of Peter and Caitlin in Montreal? I've never seen any indication that Isaac paints only things which must be prevented from happening.

The company comes for Claire, tells her her blood can cure. HRG dies. You can guess what Claire will do next. Seems obvious to me, at least. The painting still comes true.
Ashen
As someone pointed out earlier: Isaac painting it does not mean it is very important. He painted a lot of pictures which were only neat side-dishes.
However, it is important to me as he is one of the characters I care most about and apart from that a major player.

As for people thinking it isnt HRG because its just some guy with glasses-- we really dont need to point out what kinda glasses they are much less what HRG stands for right?

But so far the only person really concerned about that painting is HRG himself. He thinks if he can change the background (Claire in a Cheerleader outfit kissing some guy in a room right next to a dead HRG o_O? ) then it wont happen, or he will know around when it happens. Claire being a cheerleader- and having a boyfriend now- sets up the scene of his death to happen any time now.

Now all he knows is he has to avoid people with guns... especially if one of them is Mohinder since one of the paintings shows him with a smoking gun- and the panel after that is of HRG dead...

As for the original question - HRG is important because hes one of the Key "non-special" characters whom has deep connections with some of the most important characters in the show. He's connected with Mohinder, Claire, Bob and the Company, and numerous other characters.

Noah is important because he's the "Noah" of the show. I think he's destined to guide specials through a coming "flood", to ensure their survival. That's pretty much what he was doing in 5YG.

I think it's all about Claire. He is trying so hard to keep her safe and you know she is the "key" for everything. dry.gif
