In this episode, when Hiro goes back to the 70's to witness that facility-lockdown scene, after the security guards took adam away, kaito went in and victoria said "adam had help, kaito. it's the only way he'd know what to look for".. who was it?

I would guess he may have been working with Maury way back then.

IDK... Doesn't really matter does it?
But if I were to guess, probably Maury because he could just pick out the location of the virus from Victoria's head without her even knowing it...

Maybe its Linderman?

If Adam was partnered up, based on the "rules", it would have been with a non-special. Otherwise what we saw may have been the reason for the one special one non-special rule we are so familiar with now.

i would guess that non special is probably dead. i doubt they will mention any partner at all anyways

That is, to say, if that Special/Non Special rule was in effect back then.
And Linderman wasn't Adams disciple, I don't think. Wasn't Adam Lindermans disciple?

It's soo easy to get them mixed up.
And Jay, I think you're right, now that I think back on it.

Yeah. Linderman was Adam's disciple. It wouldn't make sense to me for the 300+ year old dude to be a disciple to someone about a tenth of his age.

They didn't know who his co conspirator was. If it was a company partner, they would have known who it was.

I'm going to speculate that his partner was Angela.

I'm going to say his partner would have been Starsky. Ohhh. I thought you meant if the show was filmed in the '70's.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this but "What about Bob?"
In my experience in watching TV shows, everything they say is for a reason.
"He had help Kato", may be suggesting a link with Bob and he may even still be working with Adam. Which would also explain why he put Peter in the cell next to him.

So why the theatrics for holding him for the 30 years

Adam, most likely, had no partner. As Beez points out, he was not part of the 'bag and tag' team plus he was the driving force behind the creation of the Company (at least GN#61 suggest this).
Now, we also know from the GN's that Linderman recruited Arthur. And, I'd imagine that it was Adam that recruited Linderman. Adam was developing a following (disciples). So, as the 'alpha dog', he would stand apart from all others, I would think.
