I tried changing my avatar when I was using Firefox. It would not change. Then I was using Safari and the avatar I tried to change it to was showing up. Now I'm using Firefox again and I still see the first avatar. I have no idea what's going on ...

perhaps this will be worhtless information, but it may be necessary to purge your private data.

in firefox, go to tools--clear private data

that's the only thing i can think of. perhaps firefox is still indexing your previous file.

Phantom avatar, won't go away!

I have an avatar that always comes back no matter what avatar I upload. I want to get rid of it PERMANTENTLY! As in, be able to get rid of it, upload a new avatar and use the one I just uploaded. NOT the one that I just deleted.

Has anyone else had this problem? And how do I fix it?

I removed my avatar last night, and put in another one (briefly). Seemed to work ok.

Is this issue fixed now? I notice you don't have the "blue" one anymore.

Had the same problem. Solution: if using IE 7, Delete some of your temporary internet files and/or cookies that have to do with 9th Wonders and all will be well.

What is IE 7 ? Umm, I'm not sure what else to do. I deleted cookies, logged in and out, but as soon as I try to update to a new avatar it defalts back to my old one. It is like the site is remembering it, even when my cookies are deleted. I can remove the avatar altogether, but I just can't change it.

IE 7 = Internet Explorer 7. try deleting all of your temporary internet files

edit: from this end, you have no avatar.

I'm using Safari.

Deleted cookies and all. I can upload a new avatar from the pre-made gallery thing on this site, but as soon as I want to upload from my computer, it messes up. Like, in "My avatar settings" it says my current avatar is the one I just uploaded. But when you click on my profile and look at any other of my posts it has my old avatar.

Everyone's (uploaded) avatar has the same filename format "av-#.jpg" where # is your member number.

eg.

Yours looks ok to me. (Not the blue one.)

My God! I went onto my dad's account on my computer, and changed it. And it worked! But then I went back to my log in account and it still shows the same one! I'm terrified! WTF!

Try deleting your cached files, then refreshing the page.

Avatar, ok, slap me and call me stupid

I cannot download my avatar! I did it before! Do I have to save it to my computer, and then put it up there? because I tried that, and it didn't work. And I can't put in the link from photobucket either...

To update your avatar:

1. Click on My Controls.
2. Click on Edit Avatar Settings.
3. Click on the [Browse...] button to choose the location on your computer where your avatar image resides. It must be 35k or less.
4. Click on [Update Avatar]
5. The page should reload and show you your chosen avatar. Press F5 to refresh the page if it does not.

If you still have issues seeing an old avatar, delete your cached files.

I'm not having problems seeing an old avatar, I'm having problems getting it up there... maybe it's to big...

Help with Avatars and Personal Photo, Need a little assistance

I've been trying to change my personal photo and avatar with new ones, but every time I go to update, I get the same pictures I've been trying to get rid of (they're just a little more fuzzy). My signature picture is fine. The other two pics are trippin. Can someone help me?

Try refreshing the page, I have that problem sometimes. But I just refresh the page and it comes up fine. I hope this helps!

Hi. Whenever I tired to change my personal picture & my avatar it keeps on going back to the picture I've had before. I really like to change my picture someyime so is there anything I can do?

just go to a page with the picture you wanna change on it and hit the f5 button.

I can't correctly load an image. I sent Idallia an e-mail about this and still haven't gotten a reply. You can see how screwy it came out if you go to "Heroes" Viewing Parties.

Also I meant to post this at "Heroes" Events as a New Topic. But it says only the Moderators can Post there. I keep getting an Error message. This is confusing since it gives all these rules for posting and then you can't.

An avatar is the image that appears under your name in all your posts. The "screwy" image you attached to your "Heroes" Viewing Parties thread is exactly how attachments should appear.
