Full Version: The Curvy Dagger

Just got done with the final episode of Season 2 and something caught my eye. This might actually lead to a 'Speculation' discussion (so feel free to move it if you must) but I thought I'd share it here.

When the whole ordeal with the safe and the virus was going on, I took special note of all the little artifacts locked away, there were 3 queen cards, a brain, a key, a black pyramid, and a Shingy squigly dagger. The dagger in particular caught my eye, but I thought nothing of it. (I also wonder what the hell everything else is)

Then comes the scene where Monica almost gets burned to death, when they show a close up of the burning comic, you see the hero on the cover (assumed to be Monica) holding a squigly blade.

Anyone else catch this? What do you think it means? Do you think there is a connection? Or is it just a dead end the writers are trying to lead us on? Are they the same blade or no?

Ahh, I didn't notice that at all, good eye. I bet that is her dagger. It would be interesting to see how she gets it. I also wonder about the brain and the trojan horse in the cases. There was a weird key in the same box as the virus too I noticed. Well hopefully we'll see more of some of these things, it would be much fun.

good catch

Definately an interesting assortment of items. I wonder if the playing cards belong to Gambit? wink.gif

Wow, you have a really good eye, as well as memory. I did notice the dagger but I didn't notice St. Joan holding it.

The key probably opens Adam's former jail cell. Remember how Kaito told the guards to "throw away the key"? The vault is where the Company keeps things (i.e. the virus) that really should be thrown away. Maybe that's Uluru's brain? (j/k with the last part.)
brent2mnen
You didn't recognize the key as the one that opens Pandora's Box?
ortizmj12
Good eye catching that kris!

I thought the same thing when I saw the cards laugh.gif

I DONT THINK THE KEY WAS WITH THE VIRUS. IT WAS WHAT ADAM WAS GOING FOR AFTER HE GOT THE VIRUS.
Agent42
Does anyone have more pictures of the Vault items? I posted a request in the screenshots topic, but I thought I might get a better response here.

Frankly, I think the knife is just a prop and they had Monica (off screen) model with it so they could draw the comic cover. Then they threw it in the Vault because it's a creepy cool prop. But they might write it in as something significant in future eps.

The Golden Key though...that was interesting! I doubt it's the key that opens "Pandora's Box," but it certainly is impressive and one wonder's why it was the first (second?) thing Adam went after!
eradium
It's probably just an artefact inside Primatech.

I put some up in there of the cards, brain, weird metal thing, pyramid, key, dagger, and the horse.
TheMad
I can see:

* 3 Queens, missing the clubs one
* a brain
* the holder for a vial, maybe the one that was holding the Shanti Virus
* a black pyramid
* a Golden Key, which Adam was trying to get
* some kind of horse toy/statue, seems wood
* the dagger
* one box was apparently empty

Other boxes wasn't in glass, so wasn't possible to look inside wink.gif

Yes, I saw exactly what you saw and thought exactly the same thing. That dagger is going to belong to St. Joan some day . . . we will just have to speculate on how she will get possession of it.

I noticed the same thing..

By the way it's called a Kriss bladed dagger or a Kriss Dagger for short.

I deffinatly noticed that, did anyone notice a Schwastica on the vault door, tiny, on the pin that locked the vault, right after Peter Prys it open, it focuses in on a shiny metal bar thats notched at the end, it looked like a schwastica, or 3/4 of one with the Helix/Flying serpant symbol?

um. i think when angela referred to pandora's box, she was being figurative.
OldBlue
My opinion is that the vault contains a lot of items and artifacts that belonged to malicious supers ("villains") that the company dealt with in the past. It will probably be explored again next season.

I thought there might be something there.. My Tv isn't that great so I couldn't tell what it was..
EdensDemise
Excellent catch!

I would have never noticed that.

I think it's safe to assume that all of these items are potentially very dangerous. They were locked up in the same vault as the virus that could kill the entire population.

I wonder if that key was to the "prison" in which Kaito locked Adam up in 30 years ago. Remember Kaito said they locked Adam up and threw away the key.

You have great eyes!
I noticed the Dagger[now referred to as Kriss dagger],but didnt notice it in the vault,[mainly due to Pasdar! smile.gif ,He is So cool when hes on screen that you cant spare any more attention! cool.gif ]

Hmm,Might be true!
But,I really dunno what a pack of Cards is doing alongside a 93%killer virus!
Unless ,of course it belonged to Gambit... laugh.gif

* 3 Queens, missing the clubs one

I had hoped to see these tied to Arthur Petrelli; there are a couple of queens in some of the frames of the graphic novel War Buddies 2, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. /sigh
NinjaCat542
What would be really great is if those were all items from the miniseries The Lost Room. Tying that in with Heroes would be so freakin rad. It would actually make a whole lot of sense too. The Company, founded and controlled by Supers, would almost certainly want to capture and lock away any supernatural weapons and items that could be used by "Normals" to level the playing field. I know it's silly of me to want this to happen, but man would that be cool.

Why else would Immortal Evil Adam be so interested in a simple Key?
CrewWolf
I think it's a coincidence. Perhaps the artists and set designers just like the look of squiggly daggers.

perhaps the golden key was the key to Adam's cell, but it was gold - possibly from Bob the golden man?

the brain made me, for some reason, think of Sylar - perhaps the answer to how he gains powers from the brain?

I, too, thought of Gambit - unlikely, though...

the kris knife does look a lot like the one in the comic...

no idea about the pyramid or trojan horse, though... nice little geek candy they tossed to the rabid fans smile.gif

cross thread post, but I think Ma Petrelli meant a figurative 'oh crap' - Peter being PO at the company? look freaking out!
iCollectPowers
Ya the cards are what caught my eye and I thought of Gambit just like everyone else.

But nice catch man i wanna see what they do with the story of the items
URAINAH
Maybe Sylar left that brain in there for a mid-afternoon snack! laugh.gif Cool items though. Must be important somehow to be locked up so securely..
LamaSu
I mentioned this in another thread, but I think the brain in the vault is Isaac's. Locked away for later study into how he was able to see the future.

how would they get that though? all of sylar's victims end up with brainless heads.

I'm just glad that I wasnt the only one to notice

We need to get Bridget Bailey over there to do an inventory for us wink.gif

or perhaps they locked up a brain that they didn't want Sylar to ever find? He can absorb powers from a dead hero from their brain... who is to say it wasn't Hiro's dad's brain or someone equally powerful that they didn't want Sylar to ever discover and cannibalize? Or, thinking even more outrageously, perhaps there is / was another out there with Sylar's... ah... brain fixation?

or maybe they are just studying a hero brain to see what they can gather from it, ie. how Sylar does his trick. *shrug*

it will most likely become a geek frenzy plot element that they leave behind forever...
DaGiNoBinO
I don't think it was a coincidence, guys.
Don't forget that Isaac 'wrote' 9th wonders.
And painted all the pictures.
Aerishka
Oh man! You beat me to it! I watched the finale a bit late because of my hectic schedule and I only had the time to post today! But yeah, I noticed the dagger too! I scared the crap out of my sister too! There we were watching Heroes quietly and when we got to the vault scene, I grabbed her and started yelling at her: "OMG that's the dagger St. Joan was holding in the comic book! That's going to be Monica's weapon!" LOL! Sometimes I get too carried away when watching these damn TV shows! laugh.gif
themightytruk
That's an awesome find! I wonder how and why Monica will end up with the dagger. And why was it in the vault in the first place. What importance does it hold?
