yea, i think the future is changed. i guess caitlin is in some alternate univese somewhere.

One of two things has happened.

She has been blinked out of existance, by changing the space time continium.

Bases on M-Theory/Superstring therory, She resides in a parallel universe, and unless someone has the ability to sift through these universes then she is gone either way.

Peter is far from bright on thinking this one through.

The writers dont have much ryhme or reason to what they come up with at times, so who knows what they will come up with for her.

I'm sure the writers will come up with some crap that when the next volume picks up a year later, in March 2008, that Caitlin will mysteriously just appear then in the new timeline.

Or, Peter goes back in time to right before he and Caitlin go to the future, and he then takes Caitlin back to his future, so that she never goes to the future with him. With the way the show is heading, nothing is implausible.

I heard somewhere that they were changing there veiw of time travel to a more back to the future type idea. I would imagine that Caitlin would be dead, but I heard now the future is going to ochange around her, and she'll be ok. When it changes around her I don't know. Maybe right when Peter went back in time, so she'll still be in NY, or maybe she'll be 80 on her death bed. Better yet, maybe she'll shift into the current time line after she contracts the virus, and then the world will still be doomed.

Caitlin is still in the future timeline Peter left her in. She will give birth to their son and their son will go back in time to save the world.

Hiro could get her.

Two things.

1) I personally believe that she cannot possibly be trapped because she would exist in a universe that doesn't resonate with her own. That being said, the universe has a way of righting itself in those situations. In theory anyway.

2) Who says the virus is completely gone. There were several strains created and they are all over the place. That virus could be reengineered if it wasn't replicated when they claimed it was the only sample.

Oh crap.

3) It looked to me that Peter absorbed the dust from the dead virus. Dead viruses have a tendancy to live again given proper circumstances. That being said, Peter may very well have acidentally started the whole thing in the first place by doing what he did. I would have teleported to a volcano personally.

I hope she just gets written off, simply with the excuse that she can't be stuck in a future that does not exist.

The show got much better after she left. She was such an annoying character.

No one's more annoying than Maya.

Consider how Peter feels -- if he likes a girl, she dies (or ceases to exist) because of him -- third time's the charm?

Anyway, I only recently started wondering about Caitlin; do ya think tptb'll give us an answer about her in (or outside of) the show?!? Or will this just be somethin' to speculate about?

I think the show will just move on and won't revisit what happened to Caitlin. Just leave us to assume she was "lost in time". Maybe Caitlin will be addressed in some online content, but I wouldn't expect anything beyond that.

If that's the case, I wonder if Pete'll return to his "emo"-ishness pining over the gal that got away. That's gotta take a toll on a guy - first Simone was killed, and now Caitlin's gone? Maybe he will become someone Elle can pick on...

This really confuses me too, because wasn't one of the main reasons Pete was helping Adam was to save Caitlin? Maybe she got teleported back to her bar but stuck halfway in a wall? Maybe she never existed and all memories of her have been erased from Peter's mind. Whatever it is, I doubt we'll see the character again, which really just makes Peter more of a jerk, because he's just going to leave little miss irish.
