Has anyone else listened to the interview with Adam Armus and Kay Foster (two of the writers) linked <a href="<A href='http://www.thestream.tv/watch.php?v=764">herehttp://www.thestream.tv/watch.php?v=764">here</a>? It's pretty long (about 45 minutes), but it's very interesting. They talk a lot about the writing process, and the different projects they've done, but they mostly talk about Heroes.

I really enjoyed the interview, but there was one thing they said that really upset me: they said they might bring Caitlin back. Just...no. Please, no. I love Peter, but I was frankly pretty annoyed at the shoddy storyline they gave him in the first half of Volume 2, and Caitlin as a love interest was about as interesting as watching paint dry. The actress (IMO) couldn't act, and if I have to listen to the "Irish" accents again I will go nuts.

What astonishes me is that they have a direct comparison between Peter/Elle and Peter/Caitlin in Season 2, and for me, there's just no competition. On the one hand, you have a pair that both have personalities and storylines outside their relationship, all sorts of possibilities for tension and antagonism as well as connections due to their ties to the Company (they're both children of the Company! Come on, there's so much potential there!), and have simply terrific onscreen chemistry. On the other hand, you have a ship where the girl feels like The Girl, as if she was written just to be The Love Interest, with little personality of her own. It's a no-brainer (if they can get Kristen Bell back.)

I guess the only thing I can do is to cross my fingers and hope like hell that they don't bring Caitlin back. Gah. Please don't do it!

Apart from that, the interview is totally awesome. Funny, informative...there really aren't spoilers for Volume 3, just spoilery stuff. If you're really spoiler-phobic, you might want to avoid. Other stuff that was mentioned:

* Heroes: Origins is still on hold. It was shut down because of the writers' strike, and there are currently no plans for it to begin again.

* Kay Foster said that her favorite characters to write are Claire and her dad, and the Petrelli brothers.

* Adam Armus was the one who came up with "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World." He wasn't the scriptwriter for that episode, though! biggrin.gif

* The writers were asked to name their favorite episode. They mentioned the Pilot first, then Five Years Gone, then Six Months Ago, then Company Man.

* There are going to be lots of extras on the DVD set for Season 2. Specifically, there will be a lot of stuff (including extra footage!) that was supposed to be in the second half of Season 2 but wasn't shown because of the writers' strike.
