Is it odd to admit that I'm wanting a replica of Sylar's wristwatch? blink.gif I've been a little fixated on it lately. Seems like a cool little Heroes item. So, I started searching for replicas. While Googling, I came across this on heroeswiki:

"Recently, a limited run of replica Sylar watches were made available through eBay. While unofficial, these are identical to Sylar's watch in the show. As described above, they are customized Field Mechanicals. Only ten of these were ever made, making them an extremely limited edition."

Can I just say...? I want one!

Of course, this must have been a while ago because I searched for any information on the eBay seller (or the replica maker) and couldn't find what I was looking for. (Which is probably best, since a kind member informed me that this eBay seller had been scamming buyers...)

If only NBC would release a replica watch... That would be cool.

I think there was a guy advertising on here a while ago that he was selling actual Sylar watch replicas for about $200 Euros or something like that -- it was pretty high-quality stuff. Not sure where that thread went, though. I think it may have been reported as a scam, even though it wasn't. He did manage to sell quite a few of them.

Edit: And I just now realised after posting this that you linked to his ebay account. As far as I know, he's the only guy who makes the actual watch replicas.

Except that the one on the Heroes store has Hiro's face superimposed on it.

Now you mention it, I've looked at the site and even that one isn't available anymore

I noticed that, as well, the last time that I was on the NBC store site. Their version featured the comic-book Hiro face. But it's no longer available. (Which is fine, because I'd rather have a replica more like the prop used in the television show.) smile.gif

The search continues...

See... there's the confusing part. laugh.gif A few people have messaged to tell me that it was a scam. A few other people insist that this guy made a limited edition of 10 watches by converting another similar brand to the 'Sylar brand', but sold the original 10 and hasn't been heard from since. blink.gif

You'd think that *some* intelligent company or individual would have caught on to the Heroes craze and started manufacturing these watches already! That is... if they could strike a deal with NBC for the rights. Maybe that's why you can't find any replicas out there?

IIRC, though I might be incorrect, it was more that he was advertising, which goes against the rules.

And he made the watches from the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Watch, as stated in the ebay description, yet when he was posting here, he never showed the watch with the customized Sylar face...

I know that he did post some of the replicas on the Sylar's Army forums a little while ago, but he hasn't been heard from since on 9th or the SArmy boards. I think what he did was took a watch and reworked it, then put the Sylar face on it -- but they're good, high-quality pieces.

I guess you can form your own conclusions, however, after some checkin', I'd be wary of any of uklegacy/legasafe's future SYLAR Watch auctions. You can check out his few non-deleted posts in two threads here, and in the most recent thread he states that all of the watches were sold. OT, but I thought it was interesting that his Heroclix thread was closed and not just moved to the appropriate forum... huh.gif

Anyway, if the 10 watches were sold, then why was he advertising them at the unofficial heroeswiki (you can see where he added the url to his ebay auction referenced above)? Also, by the pictures in the ebay auction, I don't see the modified "SYLAR" name on the face of a watch that looks like it works (the hands are missing).

Hi,

I was one of the unfortunate individuals who "purchased" one of the 10 watches from uklegacy/legasafe, however I never received my watch and never heard from him again. I worked with my bank to get my money back as it was PayPal transaction.

Since that time, I have determined the exact model of Hamilton brand watch that was used. I've worked with a graphic designer to create customized watch dials with the Sylar logo. I'm just waiting for the watch to get shipped back to me with the new dial and I will post pictures.

My plan is to try listing the first one on Ebay and maybe make a few more. It's been a bit of an investment so far and the watches aren't cheap to begin with, but I will have an almost exact replica of the Sylar watch from the TV show that I can share with others.

Stay tuned. biggrin.gif

Hi All,

After some trials and tribulations, I got the Sylar watch project done. Here are some pictures and a movie file. I'm considering making a few more if people are interested. They are not cheap to build. The original watch it's based on is about $300 just by itself and adding the dial customization, watchmaker fees to disassemble and re-assemble the watch, it gets up there.

Here's a flash movie if the link works:
