I just got the new Disturbed album; 'Indestructible', and I can't help but think of Sylar when listening to the title track.
Here, listen!Especially the lines:
Another reason
Another cause for me to fight
Another fuse uncovered
Now, for me to light
new powers!
and:
No explanation
Will matter after we begin
Another dark destroyer that's buried within
My true vocation
and in the chorus:
A terror to behold
Annihilation will be unavoidable
Every broken enemy will know
That their opponent had to be invincible
Take a last look around while you're alive
I'm an indestructible master of war

That maybe the song that Sylar plays in his head. But it may not be his theme.
A theme for a character in film reflects who he is to the audience, not to himself. Unless you're trying to show his state of mind.
Here's a few songs I think that equally apply to Sylar depending if its how he thinks of himself or how other's might see him.
"Wicked Game"
"The Man in the Long Black Coat" obviously
"The Big Hush"
"Eye in the Sky"
"Dead Man's Party"
"Superman" theme
"Lost in the Shadows"
"Woke Up This Morning"
...more to come as I think of them...

I always pictured Sylar listening to All-Star by Smashmouth. If he isn't an All Star, who is?

I'd have to say Hysteria by Muse is a perfect Sylar song. Along with Somewhere A Clock Is Ticking by Snow Patrol.

The chorus of another song, 'Divide' on the same album is very Sylar-esque.
I just wanna be the last man standing now,
And though you'll try you'll never find a way to break me
I've always been sick of being lost in the crowd,
I hear the sirens but they're never gonna take me

One of a Kind by Breaking Point fits Sylar like a glove...
I've got that feeling deep inside
Well what it is I don't know
My vengeance starts to change
My mind gets filled with rage
I raise my fists up to the sky
Whatdaya see?
The fear I see when I look in your eyes
Makes you believe I'm one of a kind (one of a kind)
The fear I leave in the back of your mind
Makes you believe I'm
One of a kind
Hey, Hey, Hey, One of a Kind
Hey, Hey, Hey, One of a Kind
And Now I feel like I'm alive
Don't know just how I got so low
These voices in my mind
Tell me it's killing time
It is a thrill I can't describe
Whatdaya see?
The fear I see when I look in your eyes
Makes you believe I'm one of a kind (one of a kind)
The fear I leave in the back of your mind
Makes you believe I'm
One of a kind
Hey, Hey, Hey, One of a Kind
Hey, Hey, Hey, One of a Kind
Hey, Hey, Hey, One of a Kind
Hey, Hey, Hey, One of a Kind
The fear I see when I look in your eyes
Makes you believe, makes you believe
The fear that I see in the back of your mind
Makes you believe, makes you believe
The fear I see when I look in your eyes
Makes you believe I'm one of a kind (one of a kind)
The fear I leave in the back of your mind
Makes you believe, makes you believe
The fear I see when I look in your eyes
Makes you believe I'm one of a kind (one of a kind)
The fear I leave in the back of your mind
Makes you believe I'm one of a kind

Updated my Sig to incorporate the lyrics for 'Indestructible'. I think it suits Sylar really well.

I think Dir en Grey's "Cleaver Sleazoid" or "Grief" would fit nicely. I would type down the lyrics, but they are quite explict..

I maintain that Snow Patrol's "Somewhere a Clock is Ticking" is the most resonant to Sylar's character.
Before "The Second Coming" I would have also said "Climbing Up the Walls" by Radiohead (though it may still work because Sylar has a very profound psychological effect on the people he meets).

I always find that :
Papercut - Linkin Park
reminds me of Sylar...
when it talks about voices ... and watching everything..
Like a whirlwind inside of my head, like i cant stop what i hear within...
Oh well...thats my opinion...
