This has been the third time in two days that a "Stand up to cancer" add completely froze my browser. The other ads seem to be fine, but three times now, after reloading 9th, everything froze, and the last thing I saw was a cancer ad, so I suppose they're what causes it. Does anyone else experience this? Can anything be done about it?

What ads?
Firefox +
AdBlock +
NoScript add on worked for me! I know it says that NoScript doesn't work with Windows, but I have it on my Firefox and it works fine. I'm running on Vista Home Premium.
I'm running on IE on my work computer right now, so I get all of the ads, but when I go home -- none. It's quite nice.

I'm running Firefox, and it happened twice again this afternoon- both times with the cancer ads. They're not popups, but embedded... Are those programmes I have to install?
Still, it's odd that this sort of ads crash a browser, isn't it?

Yeah, if you install AdBlock and the NoScript plugins/addons, you can block the incoming ads by server, and NoScript will take care of all of the embedded Javascript ads (unless you put them on your "ALLOW" list). I haven't had a problem with my browser crashing or lagging at all since I put those on there -- and it usually crashed with IE, but that's just because IE sucks.
I think FF has only crashed on me twice in the several months I've been using it.
If you need help figuring out how to use either of those addons, just let me know. Sometimes it can be a little confusing trying to figure out what to block and what not to block -- took me some trial and error.

How morbidly humorous...I guess you really ARE going to have to stand up to cancer, else your browser will get it

Yeah, it's sort of like "Stand up to cancer... or else." O.o
But I JUST got the ad for the first time and I'm able to post... weird. Maybe it works now?
