Why did Maury have one of the pictures with the Symbol on it when Matt and Nathan showed up at his apartment? Was he actually marked for death by Adam for not killing Angela as ordered? Or was it all a ruse and his fearful holding of the shotgun just a ploy to confuse Matt?

yeah it was to confuse them to think he had nothing to do with it

I always thought of it as him having a death threat just in case the authorities got to him.

Maury is a coward, so it is also possible he actually DID get the death threat, and he just pulled a wormtail and was like "I will serve you oh great Master!"

Maury's a rat. His sole reason for existence is to be used and then eliminated.

There was no death threat. When Nathan and Matt got out of their nightmares, they didn't find a Maury picture. They found Bob's.

Maury showed his symbol'd picture to Matt and Nathan before he nightmare'd them. And it felt great to prove Synch wrong.

Do you think Maury was in constant contact with Adam throughout his incarceration? I mean, for a guy that hadn't been outside in 30 years he sure landed on the ground at a dead run, scoring money, plane tickets, Locations of other Founders... Hard to imagine him accomplishing all that without help. Hard also to see how an experienced telepath could be surprised at his home.

I'm pretty sure it was just part of Maury's act to appear like he's some sort of victim, when in fact, he's been working with Adam.

Yeah, I took that as a way for him to gain trust, to show he was marked for death and avert suspicions. He knew they were coming after him.
