Was reading Beeman's blog today and in it he said that the destruction of Tokyo was from a Tsunami, WTF? Defiantely was not expecting that but then I thought of Jessie with the Sonic Scream. When I watched the episode I didn't see any water, did anyone else?

I didn't see any water, i thought i saw like..earth. But it was at night so who knows!

Didn't look like a Tsunami to me. Mix between a storm and an explosion.

I'm thinking super human battle of some sort ala Peter vs Sylar.

If that is so then the writers don't know the meaning of the word.

That's why I was thinking possibly Jessie with the scream, I'd imagine a powerful enough sonic emmission could trigger a tsunami, as to who he could be fighting, if the previews aren't misleading it could be sylar.

A black hole? But I suppose the car moving away from the explosion sort of pins a balloon in that idea. laugh.gif

Wow, I thought it was just the earth splitting in half. Good to see waterless tsunamis have that kind of power biggrin.gif

i heard somewhere that they were introducing a character soon that can control dark matter (i.e. make black holes)

I would have believed that more than a tsunami, i just didn't look like one, I have to go back and rewatch again, there has to be water somewhere that I missed

Jesse also came to my mind. He could have caused a huge Tsunami on the worlds' oceans - they travel until they can't anymore. sad.gif

maybe its a tsunami of LAVA!!!
lol like the picture the african dude drew...
ChaosTheory
It looked like the taller buildings were disintegrating and the debris was moving upwards through the air like a black hole or something was destroying crap.

I still think it was the Earth splitting in half, and that the Tsunami that strikes Toyko was just the first piece of the puzzle... I think Stargate Digital really missed out on getting to show us a really cool effect there of the Earth cracking... we may get to see it later. This felt almost like the Tokyo version of the NYC bomb, and I was hoping for more there...Though it was still amazing, I wanted more, and especially wanted a date of when the Tsunami occurred.

I don't think it was a tsunami...

Whatever it was, it was coming from underground -- the street was buckling and explosions in the buildings were likely from natural gas pipes breaking.

It leads me to think that it was internal or a shift in the tectonic plates, which Jesse could likely do with the sonic scream.

If Beeman says it's a tsunami... I'm inclined to believe him lol. Tho... it looked nothing like a tsunami while watching it live. It was more like things were disintegrating than water toppling over everything.

This image from Beeman's blog you can definitely make out water tho...

Ok, I can see the water but it definitely looks like there is some kind of air compression wave in front of the water wave as the car is flying before the water gets to it and the earth is cracking before the water gets to it (I don't know how the water could cause the cracking either.) Split earth earthquake and a tsunami would definitely go together though.
