Throughout the ENTIRE second season Claire believes Peter to be dead after the events of Kirby Plaza. Yet she behaves as if Peter had never died when she sees him on tv and after he saves her from the train. Something the writers forgot?
GoldSeven
Something the writers put into the unreleased footage of season two... and apparently forgot or didn't consider important anymore. :/

In a scene from ep. 2-12, Claire watches the footage from Odessa, sees Peter standing next to Nathan, and says, "Peter - you're alive?!" Of course, that was a press conference in which her bio-father did not get shot. wink.gif I assume the writers thought it would slow the scene down if there was first her shock that her uncle was alive and then the shock that her father was shot.

Still, considering she phoned Peter first thing it would have warranted a bit of an explanation... even more so if it was Nathan's number she called and Peter answered his phone (since Peter probably didn't have a cell phone of his own at the time).

Perhaps they meant to insert that 'deleted' scene of Claire noticing Peter on tv but forgot? They salvaged the scene with Angela's dream about the escapees.
GoldSeven
I don't think they forgot, but rather think they thought it would slow the whole thing down. Right now, the scene flows smoothly. Claire enters the room, sees the TV, sees her father down, and lunges for the telephone. If her surprise for Peter's survival had been left in, it would have had to be two scenes - Claire watches the press conference (presumably live, as the shooting would have been the big news and would have come first), sees Nathan talking, sees Peter standing next to him, and is shocked and delighted to see him alive. Then, Claire continuing to watch the press conference as the shots ring out, her shock that Nathan is hit, lunge for the phone. That would be a long shot of someone watching TV. wink.gif

I wish they'd put it in somewhere, in her conversation with fPeter on the phone, or when fPeter visits her in California.

That's actually something I wish she'd caught. Not only is the phone answered by a man she thought was dead, but he also knows she's in California! That was a dead giveaway and I thought it would make her wonder how Peter could know she was in California.

That's true and more confusing. How did Peter know where she was at? LOL. Maybe he has Molly's ability and used it without knowing it.
GoldSeven
fPeter probably has discovered that he has Molly's ability, yes.

But I think that fPeter didn't even need it in that situation - he probably knew that was where Claire was at the time of the press conference.

good observation! but i agree that the writers thought that it'll take a longer time to work on that, and anw. she could've assumed that he would heal with her powers? oh well. maybe noah told her! hahaha.

Present Peter didn't know about Costa Verde, but Future Peter obviously knew where Claire was living at the time. Claire must have assumed Nathan told him about her whereabouts.

Right!

I think we can chalk the surprise and finding outs to "It Happened, the camera/pencils just weren't there to capture it."

Exactly.

Heroes has a lot of that, you just need to use your imagination to fill in the blanks.

I was dissapointed...

I was really hoping for a adorable Peter/Claire moment when she realizes he`s alive...

But yea I was also wondering why Claire wasn`t all `WTF!` At Peter being alive...
oliveFoxx
Actually that's a clear mistake to me. I give them that in the first scene it really would have disturbed the dramaturgical flow, but later, when Peter and her are talking in California, the topic should have come up.

The funny thing is: I instantly wondered how he would know about her whereabouts (which was later explained when they showed it's fPeter) but the whole thing with her not being surprised that he's alife didn't occur to me until the next day, when I watched some scenes of the episode again.
