This question may have been asked but I couldn't find the thread in my search. Why hasn't The Haitian wiped the memories of the Level 5 crew to control them? They were doing it so often with the others for their catch and release. Why wouldn't he do it with these ones? Things that make you say hmmm.

Cause that would be too smart laugh.gif

Honestly i guess the answer would be, they were contained due to their destructive powers themselve, Mind wipes still wouldn't mean that their powers wouldn't be used again for evil purposes.

A full mind wipe however is like death, if these people are so dangerous why not put a bullet in them? i dunno where the logic is, casue Thompson, claude, linderman, bob, and HRG have all said that they kill them sometimes. I guess maybe these powers were being studied or something. i dunno, just grabbing staws i guess.. ermm.gif

Well, this is level 5 only. Maybe only those at Level 6 or under get Death Sentence!

I mean, Death Sentence, quite a dark area, I guess they try to avoid that if possible, by a sentence of Jail for Life instead of Death Sentence.

except they have done death sentences before, Claude mentioned it, and Bennet performed it on Sylar "I want him continued to be studied even if you have to kill him and revive him again"

Hmm... My memory his bad, but I don't remember Claude's mentionning that! And even if they did back then, they changed administration since! Yet it's true that those criminals are in there since maybe quite a long time... But again, as I said, maybe real death sentence applied only to Level 6 criminals!

As for the ''kill him and revive him again'' thing, I don't consider it a death sentence, because if they want to revive him, it's because they don't want him death... yet! To me it was more like ''if he happens to die from those experiments, well, don't let him die, bring him back''... More like a sentence to live as a guinea pig here! laugh.gif

I also think if you look at Sylar (granted he is a unique case because his mommy is in charge now), you can see the Copmany is not above releasing or using its own inmates if it suits them. You never know when you'll need a specific ability. There's that, and then the experimentation deal too.

Claude mentioned vivesections (sp).

Plus perhaps they subscribe to the theory that certain people are destined to be a certain way. Just cause you erase a killer's memory, doesn't mean he'll for sure just stop being a killer.

I'm sure that The Company wants to learn as much as possible about each ability and find a way to utilize it for themselves whenever possible. As long as there is the potential for The Company to become bigger/better/stronger by weilding an ability to suit their purpose... what's stopping them? Whether they hold a "special" captive for years, or find a way to extract the ability they want, nothing matters as long as they're in control. It's as good a reason as any to keep potentially dangerous individuals with abilities alive, but contained.

The mind wipe might work to rid the Level 5 prisoners of their past evil deeds/memories, but would it completely modify their personalities? Or would they only be the same bad individuals with the same dangerous abilities, only with a clean slate?

I can see why the company wouldn't put a bullet in each of the Level 5s. But I definitely understand why they keep them locked down for study/future use.

Well I hope they show they tried it at least once and what the results were when they did.
