Did anyone catch the part when Nathan was speaking to the press about the explosion and said, "The first lady and I mourn this tremendous loss". This was 4 years into the future. I forgot, what happened to his wife Linderman healed?
Gorbeh
She turned into a man!! Lol idk. A lot can happen in four years.

She left Nathan in SSN2 because of his drinking etc... It would be such a twist if the first lady was Barbara and not Tracy.

It could even be Niki back from the dead. Nathan loves them all.

I'm not a fan of the of this pairing, it seemed as Tracey gave in too quickly (though she did almost commit suicide, what else is there to lose?) I just hope the writers develop the relationship well.

There's hardly a chance, if any, for ships and shippers in this show, since the characters are all always so busy trying to save (or blow up) the world. But hey, in my confessed and embarrassed shipper opinion, Nathan and Tracey/Niki/Barbara make THE Couple, they should definetely be togheter! Tracey and Nathan really seem to match
GoldSeven
Actually, I'm fairly sure that it was not Tracy but Barbara.

Would he have said "the first lady" if the writers hadn't been trying to keep her name hidden? It seems more natural that he would have used her name.

More importantly, in the future fPeter came from and took pPeter to, Nathan hadn't met Tracy - at least not under the circumstances under which they'd met in the present timeline. Nathan was never shot, never miraculously healed, never held his speech in the church and never came to this sort of attention to the senator and Tracy. In the present timeline, they picked him because of his religious statements. In the timeline fPeter came from, Nathan had just made his abilities public. They wouldn't have picked him as junior senator because he could fly. I imagine he achieved his position by a different road, because with the truth known about abilities, people wanted someone in control who knew more about those specials than the general population, but was still perceived as integer (which fNathan struck me as).

Hm, do you think? The most typical wording I can think of would be "My wife and I ..." and this wouldn't give away her name either.

It's an already changed timeline - it featured the mutated Mohinder and Daphne's death. Just like in FYG it has to be similar to the former one, but it definitely has been changed.
GoldSeven
Well, Daphne died because present Peter was there - it would never have happened. It didn't have anything to do with the shooting of Nathan.

And it seemed to me that the Mohinder storyline was completely isolated from the rest, and would have happened like this in any case.

So you think Nathan was the same Nathan who was revived after being shot by fPeter?

EDIT: I assumed that fPeter was under the impression that the time they'd taken pPeter to was exactly the time he had come from. He didn't comment on any changes, and seemed to feel completely at home there. Or was the just because the disclosure of the formula the Company was trying to hide resulted in pretty much exactly the same future that Nathan's disclosing of abilities did?

After fPeter sent Parkman to Africa, the African painter commented that the future was changed and is not how he painted it anymore. Afterwards he destroyed the painting of Matt and Daphne as a happy couple and painted Daphne's death instead. That was before pPeter went to the future.

You are right that Daphne's death is a result of pPeter's presence in the future but it was fPeter who brought him there. So still all this stuff is the fault of fPeter's trying to change the past.

I'm puzzled about this, too. On the one hand fPeter says this was the future he was trying to prevent, on the other he admits to have already stepped on too many butterflies and explains that all this is due to the formula getting public in the past - but this doesn't have anything to do with the original reason for the future being a mess, as that was Nathan's speech.

My guess: after shooting Nathan fPeter has already "checked" if things have changed for the better so he was familiar with that future.

Must-get-rid-of-mental-image-of-Peter-tap-dancing-on-butterflies.

I never looked it it that way, but if it's true, then I would have expected Claire and Nathan to act differently. Especially Claire. She knew it was Future Peter whose fault it was that Sylar had got to her. Even if she was willing to overlook that and was willing to use any version of Peter for revenge, I'd have expected her to comment on her not being able to feel pain (through his fault) while putting him through quite a lot of the same...

It would fit that she would want to exact revenge on Peter in the future where he doesn't feel anything, but I'm sort of disappointed that we still don't know what caused the Claire from fPeter's future to turn out the way she did.
