Full Version: I miss Peter from Season One

Something happened to Peter after Season One and I haven't liked him as much since. I miss his bangs, I miss the calm demeanor he used to have. He so anxious all the time now and he doesn't seem to be capable of using his brain anymore. If he held back from doing things in season one, it was because he was being cautious. Ever since season two, though, he seems to have gotten a terminal case of the stupids. I miss the heart to heart talks he used to have with Nathan, Claire, even his mother. I miss the wonder we got at watching him learn how to use his new abilities.

I really want Peter to go back to be the hero I loved to root for in season one. The one who I had no doubt would end up saving the world instead of destroying it with his bad choices.
AnimeGoddess
Agree completely. I need his positive moral compass guiding the show again.

We saved Nathan with a fan campaign. I say now it's time to save Peter.
Thief
I agree mostly, except I was happy when the bangs left and also I think for the most part he wasn't calm.

Calm demeanor? When?
He spent the entire S1 panicking and worrying.
dcg
I miss season 1's Peter too.

Season one Peter won't be back, he's had too many things happen to him to change him. But if we're about to start a campaign for him to change in a way that makes him strong and responsible in the long run, count me on board. wink.gif

Been wondering, pikachu - did you mean the whole of season one? For me, what I miss most is Peter of the first few episodes, probably right up to "Fallout" where he has the dream of him exploding for the first time. Until then, he still had faith in his life turning out fine even with these powers, and he really changes after that (all that "whiny" stuff that so many people complain about), when he realises that he's just not in control of anything anymore. I still think there's hope of him getting a grip on life again. Aside from saving the world, it seems like it should be a major thing on his to do list this season, although it's probably not got any easier with the side effects of IA...

I so hope he'll catch himself, and I do hope that'll finally shut up all those Peter haters. rolleyes.gif

Wow, I was just thinking about this recently!
I really miss the cute/puppy dog Peter! (and of course his hair; lol).
I think that Peter's just been a little messed up considering how he was captured after he blew up and then forgot who he was and then Nathan got shot and then got dumped into another person's body and now he has some power "hungry" (pun intended ;]) issues.

But in the season 2 episode "Four Months Ago", I thought when Milo was doing the scene with Nathan in the air before he exploded and right when he woke up and was with Elle and Bob was when he had the personality of "season one Peter". It must have been the hair =]

Tell me about it!

I adored Peter's character in season one, he was much easier to relate too. His character was likable, he's the sort of person who would go back in time to save the dinosaurs because he'd feel sorry for them. (Disregarding the huge effect it would have on history) He was the sort of guy who cared about other people, though a bit too much of wanting to be a hero at times but still he was a kinda of naively genuine guy. Plus he wore other colours than black back then to boot, I just wish the Peter nowadays would add a bit of colour to his wardrobe at times.

Also, his inability to control his powers was an interesting plot point- it gave him something to work for. Though he whined about it for a long time, but realistically what would anyone else do?

I just hope he takes some time to reflect and to see what he's becoming, and whether or not he wants to go down in history like F!Peter. (Though now this 'hunger' has kinda put in a wrench in that).

It is the hair! Shame we can't really convince Milo to grow it out again.

Curse Elle for cutting it off. ohmy.gif

I totally get where your going, but on TV characters need to grow. This is a terrible life and it changes people. I don't think Peter will ever become the future Peter we saw. I think present Peter will even himself at some point. After all he is the good one. All the things Angela calls him in the past. And everything Angela called him in the present. smile.gif

Agreed.

I like how Peter is going. I don't like what is happening to him on a physical/emotional/psychological level, I don't like seeing him blown up, captured, beaten, pushed into another person's body, etc...

But I do have faith that he will always be Puppy. Maybe not the same Peter we had in S1, but he will always be Peter.

Let's also note Angela doesn't like the person Peter is going toward being.

Hey. Photo from last week, courtesy of Jesse Alexander's facebook.

Check the hair.

They're filming 312-313 right now.

I don't particularly want Peter to revert to Season One Mode, I just wish he hadn't taken on the hunger to the effect of, "I can has Nathan's brain?"

Looks like the emo is back in full force. biggrin.gif

But I do share the worries of some of you that they pushed the envelope too far with Peter killing fNathan.
GoldSeven
Thanks, Twin!

One of these days I'm hoping for someone to explain to me what an emo is and how it relates to Peter though...

Hah, I actually meant to say the emo "hair" and I thought that this was the official fandom term for Peter's season 1 hair. wink.gif

Basically someone who keeps very in touch with their emotional side...sometimes a little too much wink.gif
Some guys who are "emo" are seen with long hair that gets in their face; which is why people refer to his hair as "emo bangs".
I thought they were adorable wub.gif
