Here are my thoughts: child actors don't automatically age when the writer writes them in a future episode.

It's probably not that big of a deal really (especially considering the logistics of filming and casting). I once had a classmate who looked like a twelve year old all the way until he turned 20...

I know a 13-14 year old girl who looks 11 or 12.
