Elle is the most-appearing character in these lists.

I think most everyone (like myself) sees her as a stand-out from the majority of lesser characters introduced in Season 2. Plus, it's Kristen Bell, and she's quite hot.

Each season has a girl that everyone ends up loving. Seasons 1 and 2 were Candice and Elle, respectively, and we'll have to wait and see if someone more appealing than Daphne surfaces throughout s3.

Unfortunately, the female characters on this show just aren't take-the-lead kind of characters like the male ones, or else they don't last long enough. The one I'd think was the closest to being a "leading lady" (besides, arguably, Claire) is Niki/Jessica, and they kind of ruined her character in s2 then killed her off. So.. Elle it is.

(that's not to diss Elle. She was on my list too. I just wish we had more strong, leading women on the show. Maybe a female counterpart to Noah. )

Hana would have been the perfect "taking down the Company" partner for Noah, not Mohinder lol

And she was one of those girls that you're talking about.

It coulda been glorious. Or they coulda brought Donna Dunlap or Linda Tavara over from the GNs. Maybe Daphne will pan out. She seems kinda awesome. Maybe.

You should settle down before the GN haters plan a hit on you.

Unfortunately, she was dead and casual viewers wouldn't have remembered/recognized her.

This is off the top of my head, and my degree of preference for given characters shifts from episode to episode, so I reserve the right to change my choices. Also, I hope my nonconformity doesn't offend any of you.

P.S. Citizen, by "Jonathan," do you mean "Nathan"? Because that appears to be a picture of toddler-Nathan from the War Buddies GN.

Yeah, Hana touched my heart from the beginning with her backstory (as I'm also of Jewish origin), and her power was really neat, especially when she conversed with Micah in the ARG. I was hoping she'd get a bigger role in the first season, but sadly it did not happen.

But at least Elle is there. Kristen Bell can play strong women like no one's business.

1. Nathan Petrelli. Best actor among the main characters.

2. Linderman. Malcolm McDowell has been my favorite bada$$ since Clockwork Orange.

3. Bob. Another stand-out actor amongst the cast. I loved the dry manner in which he delivered his lines.

4. Adam Monroe. I always look forward to his scenes. Funny, but not in a slapstick manner.

5. Angela Petrelli. A really good actress and I think her story this season will determine if I continue watching the show.

6. Monica. The most likeable female character on the show. It didn't hurt that he actress is cute as a button.

7. Kaito Nakamura. His character had a purpose on the show, served it and then went away. I wish more characters on the show actually did the same.

8. Zach. He made Claire's story in S1 somewhat watchable. Heroes need more characters like Zach, and actors like Thomas Dekker . He's also great in Terminator. (As an aside, I watch Terminator right before Heroes, and it always feels like its a huge step down in terms of acting and writing. For the life of me, I can't understand why Hayden is so popular when Summer Glau proves every week that she's the best young actrees on TV, and also the most gorgeous.)

Everybody else kind of falls into the "blah" category for me. Peter was awesome in S1, but his character was irrevocably ruined by S2. Claire has always been whiney and annoying, plus Hayden has 0 acting range and still looks like she 14. You don't even want to know what I think of the others.

Yeah. That's just me butchering all the names for the lulz.

7)Ando- he and hiro provide such silliness on the show.

1-4 are my favorite favorites. The others are cool, but Sylar, Hiro, HRG, and Matt beat them by a long shot in my opinion.
Peter, Claire, and Mohinder kind of annoy me because they constantly make very dumb decisions, so they are not on my list. (I won't go into any more detail so as not to anger my fellow 9thers )

Harsh dude, but I know how it feels to be disillusioned by some of the characters. I've never liked Claire either (or Peter) and Mohinder is being slowly ruined for me. Matt and Nathan grew on my over time, and now I don't know what's going on with them.

I know it's harsh. That's because I hate what this show is becoming. S1 was astonishing. S2 was bad, but they had the excuse of the writer's strike and it always seemed like they could turn it around. This season..ughhhh..just utter let down. No story development, just twists and shocks for their own sake. Characters have become so muddled trying the blur the good/bad distinction that I just can't like any of them anymore.

Let me hit some of the characters/actors that annoy me most:

Hayden/Claire - 0 acting range. I cringe watching her in those future scenes. And in the present, she's written to be so whiney.
Milo/Peter - Why does Milo talk out of the side of his mouth all the time? It's so distracting! And, Peter killed people in S2, notably the security guards during the robbery. Its hard to like Peter when he constantly makes bad choices.
Hiro/Ando - These characters are written as racial stereotypes.
Sylar - I need to see him get his comeuppance ASAP. He should have died at the end of S1.
Mohinder - His usefullness ended a long time ago. He needs to go the way of Kaito.
Ali Larter - I wish they had just ended her story in S1. The whole Nikki/Jessica thing was written so sloppily that I just don't want to see her anymore.

I'm curious as to how many people liked Nathan before the finale. Even better, before the second half of Season 1.

I liked him at Season 1 episode 5 - The moment he took off and landed at the Diner. I hated him for a while for telling everyone about Peter being suicidal, but the moment he shot up just rocked! That part and his interactions with Hiro.

I remember hating Nathan for a while in s1 until Run!, when he visited Meredith and left her house in an emotional state.

Yeah... it's not like she has any reason to be upset lately. After all, nothing's happened to her at all.


It's called a physical disability. He has a form of Bell's Palsy.


Yeah... not so much.
If they were racial stereotypes, they'd be the evil geniuses.

Claire is getting on my nerves this season... not a fan at all.

Same case with me! Once he shot up like a rocket, I was just like, "You're forgiven Nathan, cuz those special effects were TOTALLY WICKED!!" And his stuff with Hiro just brought a smile to my face, and I realized, "There is humanity in him. Hmmmm." That just made Nathan such a deep, multi-layered, well-acted character. Thus the username.

This was the turning point for me too. I thought "so he's not a total [ ____ fill in the blanks _____ ]"

He didn't kill them. All he did was cover their shot with a truck.

And surely he didn't do that because he lost his memory and was a whole new person? Oh wait-he was.

She's always been whining. From "Homecoming" till now, she's been whining.


Seriously, I didn't know that. I almost feel bad. Almost...



Unless you prescribe to the same racial bias, it should be obvious.

Peter hit them directly. They didn't show the guards getting up. Then he left. Seems like he didn't care if they lived.

And, amnesia would not change someone's basic character or whether they cared about killing others. That kind of silly logic is what drags this show down.

Peter was desperate to know who he was. If you showed up in a shipping yard another country, with amnesia, wouldn't you take down a few security guards to find out who you are?

And it was Ricky and his gang who knocked out the guards.

I agree with nearly all of this. I don't find Hayden a particularly good actress, but I think she's competent, and she's also easy on the eyes, so I give her a free pass. And I don't know about Hiro and Ando being racial stereotypes. Hiro has a kind of general geekiness that I don't think you can chalk up to racism, and Ando is just too cool for school. But the rest - Peter, Sylar, Mohinder, Nikki - for real. I think ZQ does a great job as Sylar, but I would have been more than okay with Sylar dying from that stab wound in S1. The other three I don't think much of as actors or characters.

I don't mind Sylar much right now but it would have certainly been better for him to die in s1. But hey, we got Candice in s2

S1: Claire's a teenager- trying to be normal. Suddenlyshe finds out she's anything but. And her life goes to hell- literally. Serial killer attacks her, nearly kills her. Her dad turns out to be a ******- but not really. Yeah, I think you'd be whining a bit too.
S2: She's accepted she's different- and she's fine with that. Only, suddenly, she's no longer allowed to be who she is. Her dad gets killed right in front of her, but only after she's abducted. Her stalker-turned-boyfriend (which was bad writing, imho) decides to run like a coward. Her life goes to hell in a hurry. Not to mention it's been less than a year since the events of Homecoming. So, yeah, I think you'd be whining a bit too.
S3: Let's see... what possible reason could she have to be whining now? Oh... did her bio-dad just get murdered? Check. Was she assaulted in the most personal way imaginable? Check. Has it still been less than a year since the beginning of all this for her? CHeck
