Anyone notice that he was able to freeze Daphne in time, too?
JazzG
Or maybe she can only move in normal speed when she is frozen when moving at super speed?
Biowesker
In my opinion, he could probably freeze her because she wasn't trying to move fast. Every other time I can remember, she was trying to run away when Hiro froze/slowed down time. She was moving at average speed when he stopped it, thus slowing her down to an almost still speed.
Rhysus
Others have already explained it. At regular speed, she's like everyone else. Freeze time when she's running, and she doesn't stop. She just slows down to a regular pace.

Either that, or she saw what was going on and chose not to show her hand.

That's possible, but I doubt that Daphne would be that crafty. On a similar note, there was an evolved power used in this week's episode... Peter was able to read Angela's mind using Matt's telepathy and see the image of Pinehearst. Peter had only heard thoughts before, never seen them.

thank u for the explanation coz i was having trouble digesting it smile.gif

No.

When Hiro totally freezes the time - Daphne cant move like everyone else
When Hiro slows the time down a lot but doesn't really freeze it completely - Daphne moves regularly

I always imagined it, which I think is what everyone else is getting at...

That when Hiro freezes time, he's actually just really putting himself into a frame of reference where the rest of the world looks like its standing totally still, whereas he can still move around...

When Daphne unfroze during his time-freeze, she was running away with the formula, and probably still accelerating at the time, because for a while she was still stuck like everyone else, before she could move normally again.

Which to me, makes me think that she inadvertently managed to accelerate herself into the same frame of reference as Hiro, and keep herself there, that was why they could then talk to each other...

Since she was standing at the bar, she didn't notice Hiro quickly froze time, because she wasn't expecting him to that, and therefore wasn't moving herself fast enough to include herself in the time-freeze. By the time he'd everything done, she'd not realised he'd ever left.

She certainly doesn't seem to be pretending to be totally freaked out, she actually is! She hasn't a clue that Hiro, for all intense purposes, managed to be faster than she was and pull a switcheroo laugh.gif

Is that what everyone else is thinking? huh.gif

Which is fine. Except Hiro never totally freezes time.

Hiro slows it down so much that it appears, to the normal person, to be frozen.

If Daphne's running (using her ability) she can counteract that. However, if she's not she can't.

If Hiro really froze time, then the air molecules would be frozen as well, preventing them from moving. Therefore, because the air around him couldn't move, it would be impossible for him to move, let alone move other objects.

that's something I don't quite get it then
remember the first time the two met?
Dahne had the slow/speed trail and she is able to move when Hiro caught her
but now...Hiro freezes time and Dahne is froze in time or maybe she is just pretending
the entire time and let Hiro to be the hero?

Well, remember the first time Hiro had enough time to follow Daphne's trail to her, before she started moving at "normal speed" in Hiro's "almost-stopped" time. Hiro didn't have time stopped that long this time before he teleported away. And also, Daphne wasn't in the process of speeding away when Hiro slowed down time this instance, but she was standing there like a normal person. Not in the process of using her superspeed. I imagine it would take her a certain amount of time to initiate and accelerate to superspeed from a motionless state, enough time for Hiro to have time stopped for at least as long as we did.

themightytruk,

I agree. Said another way, she was not "at speed" (she was standing still) and Hiro "nailed her down", teleported out and back (with Ando in tow) and then released her (without her ever being the wiser). Daphne is not Hiro's "Nemesis" (can not challenge his stop-time) until she's up to speed.

that's like saying it's impossible to people to have super powers.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought Hiro traveled to another time period, took care of the stuff, then traveled back to the exact moment he left. so for Daphne he may have phased out for half a nanosecond; it was never noticed.
