Right Now Peter had Sylar's ability. But what if Peter let Sylar examine his brain. He should be about to survive the process, especially since he has Claire's ability to regenerate. Sylar wouldn't then need to go cutting up people's brain for power. And since Sylar actually seems to be the more intelligent one, he'd be able to use Peter's powers of absorption more effectively.

Peter, unfortunately can't do this right now, because of what his father did to him, but what if this occurred at some point in the time line, it would definitely be more interesting. Rehabilitated Sylar is much more interesting and dynamic, then psycho serial murderer Sylar. On the other end, I personally think Peter character is really getting old. He is very one dimensional - too irrational, too emotional. If the brother's get over their rivalry, and work together against there dad, it would be much more interesting.

It would have to be a point in time when Peter regains his abilities, if that happens. If not, then Gabe or Pete won't benefit much from the encounter.
