I think Arthur didn't take sylars ability to avoid the hunger. And the reason why Future Peter didn't told him why he needed sylars ability was that PresentPeter won't trust him, or belive him that he needed to defeat his father getting new powers from killing people ( like sylar).

We were all speculating the other week about if Peter had taken Sylar's ability already and if it was possible to take it or if you needed to be taught it. Would be interesting if the same was true for Arthur and the only ability he couldn't take from Peter was Sylar's IA.
This could be why fPeter told him to take Sylar's ability, because he knew his father would take away all of his at some point. Then again if he didn't have 'the hunger' would the events have ended up with him taking out Sylar and storming into Pinehearst like that?

I'd love it if Peter taking Sylar's IA was really part of a much larger plan, but right now, I think all fPeter wanted was to give pPeter an ability that would help him use his other abilities, mainly time travel, more wisely. But I sure wonder if Arthur and IA/the Hunger are going to be addressed. Or if Peter can get rid of IA in this way.

Seems like he already has a mild form of the hunger judging by his thirst for power and powers. Not quite the same as Sylar's but it would make sense if he passed it down to him in a slightly different form.
We'll have to wait and see if Arthur took the IA from Peter as well

i was hoping that arthur had taken the hunger away from peter so that peter would go back to sylar and they could team up...kinda.
it would be very interesting to find out why fsylar and fpeter wanted him to have ia...possibly because arthur doesnt have the capacity to understand it at all? and thats how to bring him down?

IA was never meant as a weapon against Arthur. It's possible that it becomes one in whatever way, but fPeter never even knew that his father was still alive, or that he was behind the development of the formula. He meant for pPeter to have IA in order to be able to time-travel without screwing up.
