What I don't get is how Parkman manipulated Knox into feeling the kill. Like, how did Knox feel Parkman die when no one was there? When Maury did it, there was Parkman and Nathan, but this episode it was sort of vague...

Is it just one of those things we're supposed to let go? =]
Alordo
It shows the level of control Matt has now. He can truly manipulate them into feeling everything. That was a brilliant ploy.
Faunus
Let it go..not important. I hate when people analyze these things too much. For all we know his ability includes the thought of feeling it too. Who cares.
Wanderlust
Eh, just curious.
He can do a lot of stuff now, if he can really control it that way.
Which is pretty cool. I hope the show utilizes it.

Well, Bob said in an episode of season two that Matt's ability, like his dad's, allowed him to manipulate anything related to the brain, so that means that he could potentially tap into the nervous system and manipulate a person's sensory perception, making anyone feel whatever he wants them to feel.

Agreed. It's TV. It's fiction.

You don't go to a movie theater and question every flaw in realism and logic in the movie.

...or maybe you do.

Seconded.

I wonder how long Knox will think his hands are bloody.

They got me, though. I thought they killed him off, and it would take an act of Hiro, going back to save Adam, to bring him back.

Who says Knox isn't in on it too? He was standing there with Daphne and Arthur when Daphne said there has to be another way. So maybe he didn't feel anything but was playing along for his good buddy Arthur.
RubberDucky
I don't understand how he did that. He appeared to have changed the environment similar to how Candice did before she died.
Alordo
It wasn't an illusion like Candace. You were seeing things as if your mind was affected by his powers and then he turned them off. I liked the puff of smoke effect.
Ard_Choille
He was only in the next room, he's gotten more skilled.

Remember, his dad left him and Nathan in a contrived environment while he left the building.

Worst. Episode. Ever. Everyone knows there is no sound in space.

But they weren't in space. They were in an apartment in New York City.

It wasn't an illusion like Candice. We were seeing the situation through Knox's eyes, when in all actuality there was absolutely nothing there. Daphne and Matt were in the next room. Matt got into his head and made him see want he wanted to see.

I loved that scene, really well done.

Knox was in on it. Daphne said she carried out the plan when on the phone with Arthur. Obviously Knox would be on it since he is a part of the team. Now whether or not it felt real is a different story. It is safe to assume it did indeed feel real. However, one only wonders why Maury didn't manipulate people to think they were shaking Linderman's hand or what not. We could speculate that Maury didn't know how to do this and his son has surpassed him , or believe Maury didn't feel the need to do so. The third possibility is that it was a different type of illusion than what Maury was using. What we do know is that Knox was indeed in on it.

I had forgotten the angle with Knox (possibly) being in on it. I had just assumed Matt was controlling his feelings too. But no, that one's better. Knox was in on it.
themightytruk
That was such an awesome use of his power by Matt! When it showed Knox kill Matt, I was like ohmy.gif sad.gif crying.gif "NOOOOoooooooooooooooooooo!!" Then I thought about it, and was like "This is Matt. He made Knox think he killed him. It didn't really happen." And then the show returned from commercials! Way to go Matt! But apparently this is working into Arthur's plans, so hmmm...
tickitytak
lolz Knox was obviously in on it because Daphne called and told Arthur that everything was going according to planned. if she really wanted to trick Knox, she wouldn't have called Arthur 'cause Knox would come back and say "yo Arthur.. i killed both of them." and they'd be found out.

so obviously Knox and Daphne were in on it and Daphne's affection is just a trick to get Matt to trust her. it's all part of Arthur's plan since he knows Daphne isn't a killer.

and truk, i had the exact same reaction! i was like "WHAT?! no!! matt!! oh wait... why would they kill him after building him up so much? it's a trick! matt is in his head!"

When knox punched through matt I actually stood up and yelled YES!!!!!

Then when the commercial was over I actually stood up and yelled NO!!!!

Aww, I was the exact opposite.

But really, I think the answer is just that since Matt can control all things in the brain, he created illusions in Knox's sensory cortex and audio cortex. And whatever other parts of the brain he manipulated.

People can see some pretty freaky stuff when their brain is messed up. Go read The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat.
