Where did Arthur find Daphne? Maybe the Guantanamo-like place mentioned in the spoilers for Volume 4? Could be an interesting lead-in, if we find out that that's what has her so terrified.

Good theory and your the first person I noticed who brought up this line.

I always assumed Daphne was protecting someone, but that line says that she is trying to get a way from somewhere. It would be a good lead-in. Maybe she and Matt eventually get captured since we know Matt is one of the fugitives.

I'm interested in this as well. We honestly havent heard about much Daphne backstory. They could go almost anywhere with this, but I think the answer to this question is Season-Impacting.

I think it's more a predicament then a place.

I meant bring it up in a big way. Obviously, it was mentioned in passing.

That's what I thought too. To me the worst thing a speedster like Daphne would hate is to be mobile; so I'm guessing she was either a paraplegic, in a coma or polio (or some type of walking disability).

I think it's something more then just a predicament:

Didn't Greg Grunberg say in a recent interview that the thing being held over Daphne's head forcing her to work for Pinehearst was big?

A predicament can be anything from being homeless in the streets to being in a wheel chair.

She was recruited by Dr. Livitz (Arthur's doctor) in Paris to steal the formula, in the 2-part graphic novel, Our Lady of Blessed Acceleration.

And I assume "Right back where I found you" is a life of meaningless, un-special thievery in Paris, possibly even in the hands of authorities or something connected to what Greg told us.

It's funny but when i heard this line the first thing i thought of was back in the ground. Like he brought her back from the dead. She is afraid they will kill her Arthur threatens to put her back where he found her. I think it is similar to the way hiro threatened to put adam back in his grave.

Back from the dead? Via Samedi?? I wouldn't be too upset with that I suppose.

I definitely wouldn't think he meant her life before she was hired for the formula, because i don't think such a prospective fate would have such a strong impact on daphne. I'd never thought of the paralyzed idea, though I like that, and I could see that as a tie-in of linderman's involvement with arthur back when he was alive.

Though when I saw the episode my mind went strait to something like the Guantanamo-like place mentioned above, or in some other sort of dire situation where having super speed doesn't do anything to help her.. perhaps even from an alternate future or even past of somewhat dystopian nature...

To be honest, if you go with the theory that abilities are in some cases, tied to the personality of the person, that would fit with what we've seen of Daphne so far this season.

Superspeed definitely fits with a person who deep down is desperate to run away...

That it what I thought also, It sounded like a death threat. Maybe thats how Nathan came back from the dead. There might be a resurrecter.

Good theories.

I must be pretty simple cause though I wondered what he really meant by that statement, I still just assumed that she had been given her power synthetically (like she was a nobody before, or has known him since childhood and had been given her ability like Nathan) and that he meant he would take her power.

For me to be justified in assuming this I would need to know how old Daphne is...anyone know?
