We didn't get too see too much of Hiro this episode, but it seems like he's on a new goose hunt now. As an audience, we know it's too late to recover the formula, but Hiro doesn't know that. I just found it kind of odd that as a LAST WISH from his dead father, he kind of gave up on it.

Well, that's not exactly it: He knows the bad boss, whoever he his, as both part of the formula and that's why he, sorta, ''joined'' the bad guys! But Daphne refused to bring him to her boss, so he has to do something to get closer to Arthur, which is, helping him! Once this was done, Hiro could hope to be closer to his enemy.
However, ''African Isaac'' gived him an interesting path to follow: To know the past of his enemies! So he's following that path for now!

Season 1 he told himself, sorta, to save the cheerleader and then because of Isaac he saw he stabs Sylar so was set out to do that. Thus he pretty much was told what to do. Season 2 in old Japan he knew what to do by fulfilling the legends of Kensei and then later on was just trying to avenge his father which happened to be the person trying to destroy the world.
So far this season Hiro seems to be on a 'domino' path.
- Protect formula - stolen
- Catch thief - captured by Primatech.
- Primtech tells him to get Adam - Adam kidnapped.
- Join kidnappers - Take African Isaac.
Then African Isaac asks him to chose between his own path or one layed out before him.
I am hoping it is not gonna be; Hiro sees painting of villains, teleports to villains, kills villains. Hiro saves world again. I would like to see him wrapped into the characters more. He has ties to Peter, Nathan, Sylar, and now Angela but just on the side and not an important role. Season 1 and 2 he was off in his own world basically doing his own thing and showed up at the end to play a key role. So I hope in the next episode will give him the knowledge to get more into the plot.

Well, Hiro's still trying to figure out what path he should take. He isn't ready to go after the formula yet. We was thinking his best option was to get recruited to get closer to it, to stop these villains, which has lead him to where he is now with Usutu. Have patience.
Anyways, Hiro probably has enough common sense to know that once someone has a hold of the formula, taking a piece or both pieces of it from that person probably won't do much good. Such a villain would likely be smart enough to not just rely on two pieces of paper. He would have created duplicates such as a soft copy version of it, as we saw Arthur did.

Defeat enemy get formula back. I don't see any lazy writing.
