Full Version: How old is Hiro?

How old is Hiro in linear time? We know from Six Months Ago and the Saving Charlie book that he stayed in the past with Charlie for a few months. Eventually he teleports to Japan and his powers don't work and he has to take a plane and later a bus to get to the diner to meet back up with Ando. This means that Hiro is a few months older than he is in actual time since he was born. He lived a few months twice.

We also know he went back for a time last week and was knocked unconscious. It was longer than a minute. So he lived that time twice.

He also spent some time with Ando following Sylar around when Sylar killed his mom.

The 4 months with Kensei don't matter because he returned home 4 months after Kirby Plaza so that didn't affect his age.

Also, he has frozen time a bunch, and while frozen his heart is beating and he is breathing so he must be aging while time is frozen to us. If he freezes time for 10 minutes and is moving around and exploring he must be aging 10 minutes.

Anybody want to help with the calculating? I didn't read saving Charlie but he said he travelled forward and backward and couldn't save her. Any idea how long he was back there? He may have relived many weeks with her over and over.

Is this worthy of a post? I think it would be funny on the show if he starts aging physically and getting gray hair because he's lived an additional ten years during his freezes and reliving of months and minutes and seconds. For all we know he could be going back and looking at dinosaurs and the Kennedy assassination and just not telling Ando.

I'd say about 7 months older than he should be, without including the "traveling forward and backward" he did while attempting to rescue Charlie from her doomed fate.

About the idea you mentioned about him being physically older, I think it'd be funnier if he left for a while and returned with huge differences biggrin.gif

well we don't know how old he was when the series started, so it's impossible to calculate his age.
(or was his age announced?)

but 26 comes to mind.

I know. He could be sitting next to Ando and suddenly have grey hair and be 40 pound heavier. Ando would ask him what happened. He could say "I was bored with our conversation and I went back to the past and experienced opening night of Star Wars again. I then went to Comicon 1995, then I shacked up with a girl I met there for 5 years and it didn't work out."

He said it was 24 in his blog when the series started.

If I caught it right, Ando said he was 27 in the bowling alley on tonight's episode.

That takes away the doubt I had about Kaito saying he'd hoped for Hiro to ascend for close to 30 years while we were given another age (24) on his blog.

Didn't he say he had waited 30 years for a Nakamura to ascend? Maybe his sister is older.

It was actually

Perhaps they are not referring to Hiro alone. Perhaps there are cousins, and of course his sister. Also, in "Saving Charlie", they say that Hiro is 24.

That works with my new theory. When Hiro found out about Charlie's medical condition he went back further in time to go to medical school for four years until he realized he couldn't help her and came back. He's four years older than he was when he arrived at the diner. laugh.gif

Well, I wouldn't hold it against Aury Wallington, as Hiro's blog was the only canon source that had provided us with an age. Guess I'll have to brush it away when I get my copy soon.
