In the deleted scene his description sounds ALOT like F_Peter's description of Sylar's ability.
As I recall he describes his ability as being "able to see all the possible outcomes of a given situation", hence his success in the stock market.
If I'm remembering correctly then they do share qualities, only it would appear Kaito's version came without the ability-munchies.
This all just suddenly occurred to me right now so forgive my late noticing of this lol. ^^

The writers and Kaito said it was scratched which was why it's a deleted scene.

I agree, it was too similiar to IA to be used, plus in the show and GN, he seems to be fighter, not a calculator.

You've spoken to Kaito?

The way I've heard it described, it was the ability to know the probability of an outcome. So, more like being able to predict the future as to specific events with incredible (but not perfect) accuracy.
I also heard they were going to change it because it wasn't very exciting. All of this is what "they" say though.

Hey, if this is true do you think Kaito might be Sylar's biological father (since Angela and Kaito were having an affair?)

I wondered that when she told him she was his mother.

Maybe it IS IA, and IA doesn't come with a hunger or ability transfer capability unless it is absorbed and corrupted by an empath..?

Interesting thought, but I stand by what I believe to be a supported statement- Sylar is not a true empath. He can absorb empathically, but it is a branch of his IA, not an entirely different ability. (He uses his IA directly to study the power usage, or he uses it indirectly to understand the emotions of the HEB.)

I was under the impression that the writers said he IS an empath?
back in the day we always wondered how he actually adapted his own body to take the new abilities, which was why everyone thought he ingested the DNA.
Understanding how something works should not make it so.
It makes more sense to me that the IA is using a calculating, cold way of accessing Power Replication, where EM is using an emotional tie to activate Power Replication.
If the expression is all personality based (selfish Arthur, power theft; naive Peter, connecting to the *world* with his original EM, betrayed Peter, cooly taking one at a time, at touch by choice, and introverted, repressed gabriel, with his analytical mind, having to see to understand.
I would say all different expressions of the same base power.

Angela is not Gabriel's mother and therefore, not the love-child of Kaito and Angela. Gabriel is an EMpath. Kaito, obviously (to me anyway) was not.
