why introduce him now? is he supposed to be part of the 12 from level 5? if so, does that get our count for the escapees from level 5 at around 14 or 15 now?

I say the level he was on wasn't level 5, he didn't kill anyone and at that moment neither has Flint.
Whizzles
I must say though, he's got an epic power. Colossus ftw.
jasobres
I don't think he had an ability at all. He was just faking it. He had a miniature gun in his fingers. Besides, I did not see Sylar use that "ability" ever.

dude you are talking about trevor, this is Danny whose whole right arm turned into metal.
themightytruk
Not sure this guy was a Level 5 escapee. I think he was just a person who happened to be Meredith's first bag and tag mission. A very nifty power, though, being able to turn his skin into metal. Pretty cool one we haven't seen.
Begemot Geroi
Pyotr Rasputin! XD I love Colossus. But only because he's Russian. Turning to metal would be a pretty awesome power to have -- you'd be nearly indestructible.
prander
It seems that Danny probably still has feeling in his metallic arm / hand considering Meredith's fire hurt him. So, if you still have feeling, it could still hurt to hit things. I'd rather have no feeling whatsoever.

I think it's been fairly obvious that Sylar got the freezing power from James Walker...

I believe he took the power, and then froze the dead body.

there is still that guy he killed in the webcomic.

@prander

Yeah the people who create the abilities for the show seem to try to keep them far from X-men so Danny is like our favorite Russian but not.
RubberDucky
my friends comment that the abilities being so close to X-men is why they hate the show - my arguement is that X-men or Marvel and DC comics have covered all abilities over the past 6 decades. so I always ask them to think of soemthing new and they can't
spiderfrommars
I'm really hoping we see more of this person. As mentioned above, almost all powers have been covered by comic books already, and heroes does a pretty decent job of making their characters with the same powers very different than the previous x-man or whatever who originally had it. Although the colossus ability is a bit more signature than something as stock as flight or pyrokenisis, it's still something that I really hope they explore later on in the show just because of how cool both the power and the guy that they had using it seemed to be.
Trayton
he didnt go full metal though. I'd akin his power to Kevin Levin from Ben 10 tongue.gif

maybe he had a metal bracelet and turned his arm into metal as much as he had on him.

and i think that Merry heating up his metal hand hurt him inside, probably his skin turns to metal only.

The way I saw it, he was a guy who could turn himself in metal... and of course, if you wanted to attack somebody, there would be no logical point to turning your whole body into a big chunk of steel that would A)be heavy and cool.gif be stiff. His natural attack is to turn his arm metal first and take a lunge at somebody.

The extra-tough metal is obvoiusly tougher than skin, so he can punch through stuff and feel nothing.. the reason he got hurt wasnt because of the "fire," hurt, but because if you watched closely, Meredith used the heat to heat up his arm. It was actually glowing because she heated up his metal arm.. and THAT is what made him go into so much pain.

when elle accidentally released the prisoners.. before she blacked out.. after "peter/jesse" went to her... wasnt there a fat guy that was the last to come out of the prison... who looked at elle then left... i thought that could have been him...

No, that was Doyle, the puppet guy.

- the one you saw was doyle.
You can even see in his GN that he was caught by the laser guy but killed him and escaped at the end.

Rail24:
- no it wasn't obvious and we discussed about this the whole season 1 so it made more sense that sylar already had the cryokinesis before he went to walker.
He obviously froze him first so he can take care of his wife in the kitchen with tk before he can go back and kill him taking his ability while molly was hidden.

Yep!
Fire can either melt or overheat metal depending on the type of metal so painful for him for sure. happy.gif

I think zanes ability would come very handy against this guy. wink.gif
Jumper
It would be cool to see more of Danny Pine and his ability, I think he would make an interesting character.

Too bad (at least for the moment) sylar doesn't have zane's ability anymore, and I feel like that's an ability that's a little bit less stock and therefore is less likely to be repeated anytime soon on the show.

But either way, I definitely hope this isn't the last we see of Danny Pine.

I didn't think about that at the time, but that makes just as much sense.

Well, since often times they're immune to some aspect of their power (the "Rule of Ted"), it's possible that he'd be able to move his body just as normally when he turns it (or at least the skin, whichever it is) entirely to metal.

But I'd agree that, depending on how "evolved" (advanced, practiced, etc.) he is with his power, his first reaction would be to just turn his arm into metal and use that as a blunt force.

I bet that Colossus was on the Texas Level 2 facility. Level 3 if you wanna be special. All we've seen of the Texas Primatech facility is Level 2, so I'm gonna bet on that.

Same here! happy.gif
He would definately make a great character with a nice ability and he would also bring at least a little fresh breeze into the cast that tends to be filled with the "rich and the beautiful". tongue.gif

I almost feel like they actually might include him later, because this whole episode was just slamming it in our face really hard that everything now was connected with and set up since season 1, and to just throw in a random special without killing him would almost seem as a hint that we might see him later...

I hope that he comes back, too. I especially like the power and would love to see more done with it.

That said, they also slammed, as Level 5 villain escapees, Eric Doyle, Michael Fitzgerald and Tina Ramierez (these last two from the GNs) in our faces who have since been recaptured... I don't think we'll be seeing much (if any) more of them.

So it could be that he was just a random evolved human character that the plot needed.

FYI, I moved the posts relating to Trevor and the related discussion over here.

Danny certainly has a cool power. Colossus was always one of my favorite X-Men, both power and story wise. I wonder if he can transform his entire body, Colossus style? He's definitely a character I'd like to see again in the future.
Zik
Danny Pine? As in Pinehearst?
