The other Heroes is a game that was started in Got-Heroes.com, due to the lack of people there, and the fact that some of the players were interested in keeping the story going, we've decided to move the story here. It will start fresh, but the events that happened in the other site will become part of the back stories of returning characters.

You don't need any previous info to join the game though. For returning players, there's something you need to fill at the end of your character sheet. Just so the new players know with whom that character has had a previous relationship with.


About the game

The Other Heroes, is a free style game. Meaning that there's no set plot for it. There's a beginning, and the players along with the GM, sort of just take the game from there. The GM has little idea of the direction the game will take because the players have as much impact in the game as he does.

Of course, the GM would set some initial rules, that the players can't cross, but usually there's a good reason for those rules, in other for the game to reach a nice long life.

The game is intended so that players are not paused by the absence of the GM or other players, they can keep gaming at a normal rate with players that are here, and keep playing with others when the others are around, so hopefully, unless every person involved in the game is not in here the game will be fluid enough.


THE SETTING

People all over the world start realizing they are different from the rest of humanity. And some events out there make some of them realize they might not be alone.

Some weeks ago, Ex-congress man Nathan Petrelli started giving a speech that ended up with him getting shot, and announcing that he will be running for Senator. For almost everyone, Nathan's speech was just another inspiring speech, but for a microscopic part of the population, they simply knew what he was about to say. He was like them.

Special people found other special people like them and they might be more inter related than they know.

THE RULES

I know this is a free-style game but there has to be some rules in order for one player to not have too much power over others and to keep the game peaceful and in order.

1. No canon characters. (There might be presence of canon characters, and if a player has a good idea of how to tie a character to the game it can be done, but since I want this game to be parallel to season 3 having canon characters would be troublesome).

2. No Godmodding. (Respect the other players, it's not nice to make their characters do something without their permission)

3. Be creative. (Even if it's free-style I'll reserve the right to not admit someone using a character that wouldn't fit with the Heroes mythos or that is simply too noobish, I can however give recommendations on how to improve this).

4. Again! Be creative! (If you have a cool idea you want to try, don't be afraid to let me know and implement it, just be careful about how you implement it, because it's not nice to affect too much other players)

5. Respect the GM (Even if I'm not required for the game to move forward, I'll act as a moderator checking that everything's in order).

6. 4 character limit. (Any player can have 4 characters at any given time, I put a rule not to have more than that because it can become really confusing with more characters per player).

7. No multiple powers, with the exception of players pre-approved by the GM, trying to limit it to one or two at the same time.

MY CHARACTERS

Name: Zoey Lindstrom

Special Ability: Limited time manipulation. She can slow time giving the impression that she goes super fast, or completely stop time. However she can create time warps meaning that she can freeze time in one area while other area keeps going according to normal.

History: During her childhood, Zoey was a really active girl, she used to be involved in a lot of activities, she had a lot of friends and had a happy family life, she had good notes and had learned to play the guitar at a 11. However when she was 13, Zoey's mother and sister died in an accident while going to pick her up at Zoey's guitar classes.

A truck had collapsed against their car killing her sister instantly and leaving her mother suffering for a couple of days before she also died. The moment Zoey heard her mother had also died a burst of anger filler her body and the room she was slowed in time, giving the impression to everyone nearby that she went super fast.

Her father had taken care of her since then, and even though he didn't blame her for anything, Zoey never was the same, she started distancing herself from the world little by little. And destroyed her guitar, only listening to piano music since then. She spends a lot amount of time with her father doing family activities or just watching tv, She is unaware of her powers as of now and her life goals are to just pass through life unnoticed.

Special ability: Remote Memory Access. By proximity his mind can access information and memory data bases nearby, being electronic or organic. This doesn't mean that he can intercept signals, it only means that he can hijack memory data. (example: being near an ipod he could play the songs inside his head, being near someone he could see their memories, being near a cell phone he could access the missing calls list, etc.)

Brief History: Rob was raised and born in NY, his goal in life was to become a detective for the NY police force, but during the time when he was in the academy, he got caught in the middle of a gang war, he was framed by some of the members, which happened to be his old friends from highschool and was forced to spend a couple of years in jail.

After getting out of jail and realizing all his dreams were dead, he started carving new dreams and made a name for himself as a private detective. After discovering his ability, he has used it to his advantage and is now recognized as some of the best detectives in the city. However, having a grudge against the police now, he sometimes takes shady cases in which his clients are not exactly innocent.

During his life, Rob has been involved in many investigations, some of them a bit super natural, like when FBI Detective Audrey Hanson hired him to find the trail of a superpowered serial killer that went by the alias of Sylar. Rob never found him, but after investigating a bit on him he is glad he was never around him. His investigation of Sylar led him to also dig some information in a really shady paper company that oddly enough also had a research facility. Why would a paper company needed a research facility as big as their factory? was the first question that Rob asked himself in the series of questions he was about to form in his mind.

Brief History: Ángel has lived in Guatemala for about 10 years, before his family decided to move to the United States. When he was in High School, his ability manifested. He got scared and everything suffered becaused of his fear of himself and others. Due to this, he never finished High School. At the age of 23, he decided to create his own, by now famous, hot dog stand. First at 5th Av, now on Times Square. He always thought he was born for so much more, but his catholic family always suppressed his dreams.

One day, Ángel's life changed abruptly. An explosion in the Underground, an eclipse and villains turned his world upside down. But that gave him the chance to be a true hero, a chance he never had gotten before. He took it, and saved lives at Pinehearst.

He knew his time had come, and died a hero. That's all he ever wanted.

Brief History: Gareth had a decent childhood, without any problems. Right after he finished high school, he sought and found a job. Up till now, he's been working as a kindergarten assistant. His ability helps him to determine what's wrong with children that come to him crying. Gareth's ability manifested three years ago, and he thinks it's an incredible gift. He only wants to do good with it. He's helped a few people with their problems, and helped the local police catch some criminals.

Special ability: Intimidation - by simply being in the immediate area, the user sends subliminal signals to people and animals around which sends chills down their spine. Due to the nature of this ability, the user is extremely ruthless, seemingly unafraid and not easily psyched-out.

It takes an extremely iron-willed mind to overcome this ability.

Brief History:
[classified] was born to a family in Wales. After his adolescence, his ability manifested as his mother, [classified], was quoted saying "you scare the hell out of me" before turning around and running away - never to be seen again. His father, [classified] with the ability of [classified], a strong-willed person, resisted his son's ability but kicked him out of the house.

Ever since [classified] is wandering around, stealing and murdering. Company agents had tracked him down to Japan, but failed to bag him due to [classified].
He was bagged later, in the United States, living in a Level 5 cell for five years. Many company agents quit in fear.

Due to events, [classified] is now on the loose, and his current whereabouts are unknown.

Special ability: Eve can manipulate her skin to have the physical and chemical properties of any solid she touches. When her skin is changed to whatever she's touched her joints are her weakest points because they maintain their flexibility.

Brief History:

When Eve was seven her parents divorced, and her mother left her with her dad. He received a job offering in London, so they two of them relocated. Two years later, when Eve was nine, she was playing in her father's office at their home. She knew that as a lawyer everything he kept in the office was important, therefore messing around in the room was clearly forbidden, but she did it anyways. When her father suddenly opened the door and walked into the room Eve fell backwards in surprise. She collided with a heavy oak desk. She tried to stammer out an apology, but her dad wasn't hearing her. Instead, his eyes were on Eve's left arm.

Looking down, she discovered that her arm matched the exact color and texture of the wood desk.

After the manifestation of her ability Eve's father, an avid amateur magician, began exploiting it. He started performing at birthday parties, then schools, and then for big crowds, all the while making money off the claim that he could transform the little girl's skin into any material he wished. At first Eve wasn't bothered by it, but with age came experience, and she realized what her father was doing. After graduating high school she left London in search of her mom.

The quest landed her in New York City, where her mom, feeling real remorse for the divorce 11 years before, allowed her daughter to stay with her. Two years later, when Eve was 20, she received a letter telling her that her father had mugged and beaten to death back in London. As it turns out, he'd left her his entire small fortune from the well-received magic shows and his work as a lawyer.

Eve used the money to buy a small two story building, converted the bottom floor into a cafeteria, filled the top floor with beds, and opened up a shelter for the homeless. The money her dad left her is beginning to run extremely low, and she's currently been trying to get donations from local companies.

Eve's ability had become just another part of her. She was curious of course, but she chalked it up to some sort of mutation or anomaly, and let the issue lie. Until she heard Nathan Petrelli's speech before being shot. Suddenly she wasn't sure if she was the only person with a power, thus began her search for more like her.

Personality: Usually mellow, relaxed and carefree; unusual for a person his age. He’s somehow introverted, tends to speak only when spoken to and is very measured when it comes to words, always thinking before speaking and saying only exactly what he means to say. He tends to be rather absentminded on occasion, which may be mistaken with dimwittedness, but he’s actually very perceptive and insightful. Not a fighter by nature, he tends to avoid confrontation when possible; this, however, does not mean that he’s a coward. If forced, he’s quite capable of defending himself and more, much more…

Special ability: Necrokinesis. Alex possesses one of the rarest and most dangerous Aptitudes ever recorded; it grants him absolute control over two biological processes: Necrobiosis (Cellular degeneration and death caused by natural body aging) and Necrosis (Cellular degeneration and death as a result of damage or disease), and it also allows him to manipulate tissue that has been affected by either-or. He hasn’t had any contact with the outside world in almost two decades; however he hasn’t made any attempts to change his situation. He was offered a position several times by High Ranking members of the Company, but he’s refused them all repeatedly.

Only until the recent incident during which several prisoners of the facility were accidentally released and subsequently escaped, he was able to step out of his containment unit and make contact with the outside world once again.

And yeah Mewt... I used her in another game with that power and the GM was kind enough to let me know that stopping the atoms of something would cause the object to reach the absolute zero of temperature rather than be froze in time.

So... since I don't enjoy any scientifically unaccuracies I decided to change her power, I'm sorry

But! with time manipulation affecting only a small area or something, she could very well, make something age really fast, so most of the aggressive stuff Zoey did with her ability could be re-done...

But yeah now that you're here I'll include that Al and Zoey know each other. I doubt Catalyst will come here, which is a shame. But at least we have a couple of new players.

If it's cool, I'm going to change Eve's ability from just changing the epidermis to all layers of the skin. The epidermis would be to thin I believe.

Special ability: Probability Alteration – The ability to alter probability. He is able to cause unlikely things to happen and likely things not to happen. Nath can manipulate probabilities regarding to himself (e.g. make unlikely moves as a back salto to escape an attack or cause his atoms to stay longer in air when he jumps as normally possible, so that he seems to levitate). He also can manipulate and alter probabilities regarding to other persons, from this it follows that he can manipulate the acting of the chosen persons. However they still have the facility to act in another way, because the probability that he can influence a person's decision lies with 97%.

History: Nathaniel grew up in a poor family and had to live in the ghettos of New York. He always was a happy child and seemed to have normal problems and a rather very normal life. He often got hit by his father when he was drunk and his mother tends to prostitute herself when Nathaniel’s father used to be in a crappy bar drinking himself to death.

On his sixteenth birthday Nathaniel had to watch out for his little siblings, as his parents were out prostituting and drinking. Nathaniel did not want to invite any friends, because he was ashamed of the circumstances he lived in. The nearly saddest day in his life had just begun. When Nathaniel wanted to leave at the evening his father just arrived from his crappy bar and hit Nathaniel again. At this point his anger rose to full extent and after his green eyes turned ice-blue for a few seconds an old locker fell down from the wall and this caused a series of reactions. A pot from the locker fell on his father’s feat. Screaming he jumped back and his right hand landed in the basin of the kitchen. The following event was the most formative event in Nathaniel’s life. A broken outlet caused a lightning that switched over to Nathaniel’s father. Because of the high amperage his father fell down to the ground and died within a few seconds.

After this moment, in which Nathaniel did not know whether he’d be glad or sad, he decided to leave his family as long as he could.

After a few days out on New York’s streets Nathaniel used, without knowing, his power again. He was so desperate to have some money to live a completely normal life that his eyes turned ice-blue for another moment, and the following moment he was shown on a display panel which announced that this person was the winner of 1000000$. This showed him, that he was different. Quickly he got used to his ability and used it often to reach his aims.

Today he is a well known manager and has a lot of money. Most of it he gained through hard work, but just in conjunction with his ability to alter probabilities.

Brief History:

When Fleur was eight her mother died in a car crash and her father was killed by an unknown person. From this moment on the young girl lived at her granny’s house. She lived in Paris in France and paid special attention to a religious education. That was the reason why Fleur had to visit a religious school on which only girls were allowed. Fleur did not realize what happened, neither the death of her parents, nor why her grandmother wanted her to visit such a strange school. However she did not dare to argue because she had too much respect.

As she turned sixteen her grandmother told her about the way her mother and father died. It all was a lie. Her mother died during a bank robbery. She wanted to help those people but could not. Something or someone was blocking her ability of cooling down atoms. As Fleur heard that she did not know whether her granny was kind of insane or she was telling the truth. As she told Fleur that she had ability, too, Fleur just shook her head and wanted to leave. [classified]

Fleur did not believe what her granny told her and decided to leave the house. But as she left she was captured by an older man and a young, blond woman who threw a fire ball out of her blank hand. She did not understand what this all should mean and the two agents explained the same her granny did. Without having done anything wrong Fleur was brought to America where she was locked away in a cell in the so called “Level 5”.

As the young blond woman, called Elle, overdrove the electronics in Level 5 she was able to flee with all those other Godsends. Fleur had not the opportunity to deal with her ability, so she never used it before. [classified]

Now she is alone out there on the streets of New York. She is not dangerous for human beings but for the rivaling companies. Why? Because she can change [classified] of the companies heads.

Special ability: Heat Generation – Alexa possesses the ability to generate a heat inside her body that comes to an extent of 1000°C. She can canalize this heat into heat blasts and hurl them at opponents. When she hurls those blasts at rocks or metal it melts and she can telekinetically hurl those molten objects at opponents. If she holds something in her hand and canalize her generated heat into her hand she can create “Magma-Balls” she can throw. Canalizing all the heat that is generated from her body to one hand she can create fire out of nowhere and an intense shining light. A nice side-effect of her ability is invulnerability to harm from heat and fire and from being blinded by intense light.

Brief History:
Alexa Catherina de Santana was born in Brazil, but before she even turned one year old her parents decided to move to America. Because of that Alexa grew up in Los Angeles and missed learining Portuguese. She always knew how to behave and because of her friendly and always correct behavior Alexa never had any problems finding friends. Because of her amazing beauty a lot of boys had fallen in love with her, however she never had a boyfriend before.

As she turned fifth teen Alexa discovered that she was different. She never recognized that she never shivered in winter or that she felt any cold around her. Everyone was talking of an comfortable heat that surrounds the girl. But one day, just before she wanted to kiss a boy the first time in her life, her emotions got out of control and suddenly things around her began to melt. She boy who wanted to touch her burned his hand immediately and ran away. Alexa discovered that this “comfortable heat” was not normal. It was extraordinary and she was capable of a lot more.

At this day she decided to leave her parents and searched people who needed help. She wanted to help. She wanted to fight for “the greater good”. Because of her amazing ability Alexa was always welcome by the dipshits. She learned to canalize her ability and used it to spark a fire that usually burned much longer as any fire they had seen before.

As she heard of Petrelli’s speech and that he had been shot down, she knew that this guy had to be different too. And there had to be so much more people like her outside. She had to find them and fight with them together for the “greater good”. But she did not know that this “greater good” was not so good at all.  

I'm thinking about joining in with a third character. Just fitting the pieces together now, the sheet should be ready later.

I'm fluent on Spanish and English, and I know a good deal of french. Which might not be enough to write anything but I've managed to held conversations with francoparlants...

On dit francophones, ami French is supposed to be my second language . I speak Dutch, English and French fluently, Spanish quite decent I guess (I'm studying Spanish at the university), and German also.. decent. Or something.

Brief History:

-Erased information- aka The Fixer was born in London in 1970. At a young age his abilities manifested, causing the -Classified information-.

After passing through several foster homes where he never stayed more than sic months due to the nature of his ability, he finally turned 18, although he had serious depression problems, and other psychological issues.

Around the age of 20 he captured the attention of the company who brought him in to be bagged and tagged, however -Classified information-. After some months he earned himself the nickname of Fixer, mainly because he showed intense signs of aggression whenever someone called him by his real name.

He helped resolve some issues around -Classified information-. And eventually he was forced to retire by the higher ranks. He moved to Africa where his ability wouldn't cause problems and has stayed there ever since, his where abouts are only exactly known by the higher ranks of the company though seeing as he made some sort of deal with them.

Recently he received a visit by a couple of agents and -Classified information-.

He reminds me of Gollem. And Sneep.

Mhm, yeah I was just kicking around a couple of ideas for characters, trying to decide which one I want before I posted a character sheet. Ahh decisions...

Ok, the game is almost up, but I realized we needed more female characters since there's only Zoey and Eve right now, so I'm bringing someone else to the game I created her yesterday and I'm in love with her .

Also there's a couple of people that have showed interest and might join, so!! We might have a good amount of players, that's always nice.

Remember that if you have any plots you wanna do you're completely free to do them, if you want some help developing them or whatever you may need don't doubt to call me.



Name: Jennifer Diane Banks

Special ability: Precognition.

Brief History:

Jennifer comes from a religious family, although she herself isn't very religious, or at least that's what she thinks. She had a typical childhood full of toys, friends, school, and TV. However it all turned wrong when she turned twelve and she had her first vision.

She saw her dad working on the roof, and falling, landing in some branches, getting perforated by them and bleeding to death, meanwhile she was there watching him all along. She couldn't understand why she wasn't helping him, but she knew that there must be a good reason. Some days after the vision and thinking it all had been a bad dream, she was seeing her dad work on the roof top, she had tried to say something to him, but then discarded the idea. He fall to his death, and during the minutes it took him to bleed to death, he kept yelling at Jennifer and wondering why she wasn't doing anything, Jennifer just stood there, she knew how it all ended.

Since then, not only did she did anything at her next visions, like a classmate walking in front of a car, but sometimes she started having visions that wouldn't happen unless she did something, like pushing one of her friends from a 5 story building. She let her visions rule her life, knowing that everything she sees must happen because everything happens for a reason.

She was sent by her mother to see several psychiatrists, all of them who diagnosed her with strong psychiatric problems, one of them actually interning her in the psych ward of a hospital. The doctors said that even though most of the time Jennifer was a completely normal person, she had this "episodes" where she wouldn't stop until what she said happened on her "visions" occurred, which most of the time included people getting hurt or dying.

Jennifer ended up using her visions to tell her instructions of how to get out of the place, something that she accomplished by faking that she took her meds and using one leg of her bed to break the jaw of the guy in charge of her room and leaving.

The little summary I put up is just so that in case that you wanted to know what happened in GH you know, but it doesn't affect your character in any way, the only thing different is that Zoey already knows Al a little and that Che has been enlightened about the future.

Hello All. I've been rping for a while now, so I decided to try and join one on 9th Wonders, and this one looks awesome.

Name: Prudence Barrett Thornton

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Current Location: New York, New York

Appearance(Pic or description): Prudence has an old soul look about her. She does have modern hair though, shot and choppy with slight bangs. Her skin is a bit ruddy with a yellow undertone. Her lips are long and somewhat plump and her eyes are large and dark brown. She's often seen wearing 'classy' pieces, favoring clothing based of the Victorian era. Small amounts of lace, long coats with double breasted buttons and black flats adorn her wardrobe.


Special ability: Prudence's ability is her natural intuition. Her IQ is 194, it's a factor in her ability. She can learn, retain and know almost anything she reads or hears about. She has an innate comprehnsion of the natural world around her. For example, if she read one page on a book about Deep Sea Fish, she would immediately have all known knowledge about that topic. This knowledge is limited to facts, not people, s she couldn't give you a total backgrond on a person but could recite the capitals of every country and city and name the population and breakdown off the top of her head.

Brief History: Prudence was born in Albany, New York to an english major and a history professor at the local University. Her middle name was taken from her mother's favorite poet, Elizabeth Barrett Browning. She was an early learner, learning to speak at 3 and read at four. Her power manifested at the age of 7 while her mother was reading Keats, Prudence took a gander at it and began to recite small bits and pieces of it, and aftera while of searching through the multitude of book cases in their home, Prudence could recite Shelly, Shakespeare and Whitman perfectly. Of course her parents were amazed and took her to be tested . It turned out she had an off the charts IQ and was coddled and her genius was nurtured through home-schooling. As always, Prudence being 'gifted' she never developed proper communication skills or social skills in general. As she grew older, she began to exhibit signs of Agoraphobia and Social Anxiety Disorder, afraid to leave her home and face any social situation besides her parents conversations.
Pru eventually somewhat conquered her fears and moved to New York City to go to University for English Literature ajor with a minor in Art History.
She's often seen in the evenings at small coffee shops writing in a journal daily emotions and feelings, often being a cliche misunderstood introvert, sipping tea and embracing her Night Owl tendencies. She has no friends currently, attends early morning classes to avoid people and often has melancholic episodes, but usually has a sunny disposition.

I had a bad history of 'flaking' at GH, but I left most the Rps suddenly due to Hospital stays and Rl ****** hitting the fan. let's just say my mental health wasn't so healthy at that time, and I apologize. and Yes, If I flake, thunder will strike me and I will drop dead!

Anyway, on to another matters!!. I has this ideas but I wanted to discuss them with you. Obviously to keep the game interesting and to have a cool background we need some events or something that move the story along, if you were in GH you'll remember the Dark Future part of the game. That was specially fun.

SOOOO I wanted to try something similar, since the game is happening simultaneously with S3 the eclipse is bound to happen whether we like it or not since it's a global event in the Heroes universe.

We could have a lot of fun with the eclipse coming, so if I wanted to see if you had any more ideas like maybe a fire, or a terrorist attack, or some of your characters losing control and generating disaster or something.

I could have The Fixer causing havoc like bringing an airplane down, or causing a big metro explosion or something of the sorts for our characters to have some interaction and stuff. But I want to hear y'all's opinions.

Just so you know, taking a peek inside Al's head might not be such a good idea. For starters, he's far older than he seems, so he's met more than a few Evolved Humans in his lifetime and knows how to deal with nosy Telepaths, but more importantly, there are some things in Al's head that could easily drive a person mad. Many memories that are not all that nice... >.>

Cool, so maybe Al just prevented him from seeing too much, you know like Angela with Matt.

Oh, I just thought of something cool for the Metro idea, so... as soon as I get a Che post I'll start implementing the idea.

And in my opinion such a character was missing. She is a bit similiar to Hiro, because she is searching for the greater god and want to be THE hero. :]
