One of the big problem with Heroes is that the characters appear to have normal IQs and yet they do oh so many ridiculously stupid things to fit the plot. Flint doesn't suffer from that problem. He is portrayed as a mentally handicapped person so all of the stupid things he does will be accepted. Like starting a fire when there is a crap load of gas around.

I lol'd this time because it reminded me of Echo grabbing a guitar to harm the Constrictor.

I totally lol'd at this too.

Ha! Yeah, I don't know what I dislike more - people acting stupid for no reason (Mohinder for most of the show's entire run, Hiro for most of Season 3), or people acting that way with a reason (10-year-old Hiro, Flint the Redneck ******). Either way, it's pretty bad.

It makes me laugh that peter is smarter and tougher without his powers... Maybe when you get a power your brain can't handle the pressure and you lose I.Q. points, or in Claire's case, become moody and over-dramatic...

Flint is great though, no other peson on the show uses there power more directly then the person that can't think things through...

Flint's a nice addition to the comic relief squad, especially because he's not a hero like the rest of the whimsical characters, and his storyline isn't too tied up in theirs either.

I'm definitely entertained.

This reminded me of that old Robin Williams joke, "God gave men two heads and only enough blood flow to use one at a time." laugh.gif Does seem to be the case with our Heroes.

At least we see with Flint a little consistency: he's just always stupid. He thinks, and has always thought, that his power just makes him better than everyone else. He's never thought anything through.

Hahahahahaha... it's true. he's an idiot.
I actually commented to my mother in that scene, that, and I quote "That guys a moron." She laughed and agreed.

Although I'm not a fan of calling characters idiots, I lol'd very hard at this thread.

Flint is a very classic character. He's like the Rhino or Scorpion in Spider-Man. He doesn't look at the big picture, he's easily manipulated and works much better when being led than on his own. He's just a weapon you point and fire at your enemies.

Heh. Yeah, Peter should have the same IQ regardless of his power level. Making him non-stupid all of a sudden is weak writing. Which reminds me, again, that Flint should be the star of Heroes. He started out stupid and he'll always be stupid. If viewers can enjoy Forest Gump, they can enjoy 'Forest' on TV shooting fire from his hands. Stupid is as stupid does.

I agree, Flint is a great character because he's not too important to the overall plot and he's always incredibly entertaining to watch...

He's got no issues with "morality" that make some of our other characters seem to struggle with and neither does he veer into "morally grey" territory either.

He isn't bad, he isn't good. He just is. laugh.gif
