even has the corny lines down - "keep it up and you will be a gun slinger in no time" - wow really

okay, seriously though how could she say to Sylar that nobody has ever helped her before when just a couple hours earlier Claire did everything for her.
aulduron
Maybe she meant "before today, nobody..."?

ill admit this episode is really goooooooood compared to the others, it is keeping me interested.

I like Elle's character. She's a bit crazy but really has a good heart deep down. I wanna see her as a regular - she's awesome.

The Elle transformation happened a little fast for me, I have to admit. "You killed my father" ... "please kill me, end the pain" and then, suddenly, "I've forgiven myself, let me show you how to hold your hands."

Still, I thought the scenes were done really well. They were intense, beautifully shot, and very emotional. So if I just give them a little slack, because this is Heroes, they did a good job with this. I don't think taking it more slowly would have improved the quality of the transformation. It would have bored me and we'd all be complaining about how "predictable" it was.

Yeah, a lot of development for Elle this episode, along with Gabriel/Sylar. Pretty intense how the whole Gabriel/Elle scenes were played out. Who would have thought the serial killer we saw in season one would wind up the one to bring someone like Elle from a dark spot and show her a "light"? Gabriel and Elle have had a pretty crazy history.
byerly724
she did let all of her emotions go through he zapping sylar. Alot of times when someone has bottled up anger for long enough it would only take a small push to bring them back to some terms with what has bothered them. Her "killing" sylar over and over would have surely helped her mentally with the depression and the angst she had with sylar.

Not to mention she knows first hand that he is a victim of his own hunger. She saved him from it once and that was from only killing one person. She must feel some remorse for pushing him to kill again. Its like realizing that she is responsible for her own fathers death in a strange way.

No one, because it's not good drama. It's the writers throwing the Sylar/Elle crowd a bone.

EDIT: Post #200, hip hip hooray.

It's a TV show. Are they supposed to have scenes with Elle and Sylar in that cell for the next 5 episodes? Obviously things have to move at a quicker pace in a serial TV show.

Read the GNs. Elle's been working on her daddy issues since, in the GNs, Claude told her that her power control problems were related to her dad. Between the GNs and her visit to Claire, Elle has been working through her issues. Sylar just gave her the final outlet to release her remaining pent up anger. Also, as we saw in last week's episode, Elle blames herself for Sylar becoming a monster. She helped create him. Anytime there was a Sylar reference for her character in past shows or GNs, there was always something going on there were Elle had some sort of extra incentive to catch Sylar and now we know why. So while she blamed Sylar for killing her Dad, she also blamed herself for her role in it by helping create Sylar. I thought the Elle/Sylar scenes were the best of the episode. If you are finding flaw with those scenes, you're really nit-picking and probably shouldn't watch any TV because nothing on TV will satisfy you.

Yeah, it was a bit fast...but I prefer that over the old "Hiro in Feudal Japan" dilemma.

The only complaint I have is that the damn lighting was so dark I couldn't see anything, really. I don't care if they were trying to create an atmosphere, I want to see the character's emotions on their faces!

Jim3772 - They're not supposed to have scenes with Elle and Sylar in a cell at all if they're going to end with, "Oh, we're best buds now even though I was trying to kill you a minute ago, and after that I pleaded with you to kill me, but that's okay because we can both shoot electricity now and soon you'll be a gunslinger like meee!"

I don't read the GNs - I think the TV show should present its characters believably without the help of the online graphic novel. It did in the first two seasons. (I might start reading them, though - are all 100+ of them still available on NBC.com, or do they take them down after a few weeks? I don't want to be late to the party if it means paying for what was once free.)

And thanks for telling me I shouldn't watch any TV because nothing will satisfy me. You know a show's in crisis whenever everybody whips out the "take it or leave it" mentality to defend the show. Outstanding.

He wasn't even speaking to you directly, why the hostility? Are you looking for a reason to vent at someone, jeez

Of the two or three people in this thread who have anything negative to say about these scenes, I am the most recent poster, and the most outspoken one. If Jim3772 wasn't talking directly to me, then my comment certainly influenced his decision to tell someone here that they should just stop watching TV since they're so critical.

EDIT: If I took the word "outstanding" off the end of my post, would that make it seem less hostile? Because if that's what you're gunning for, I'll do it.

First off, I'm not gunning for anything. Your post came off hostile to a comment that didn't seem directed to you so I said something about it. Most of your posts seem either negative or hostile and your added reply to me has the same tone so I'll figure your just not a happy person and move on.

Cheers

I definitely enjoyed the scenes with Sylar and Elle. Anyone who has dealt with major issues can understand how the scene wasn't "played out fast" and actually made sense regardless of reading the graphic novels.

If you thought it was too hokey, then apparently you've never felt an emotion so strong.

Not to mention, Arthur Petrelli put him in there for the specific reason of learning an ability through empathy instead of killing. Why is that fact being lost in this discussion?
