I was wondering how / where Heroes Wiki would fit in with this forum? Since it's now endorsed by / partnered with / recognized by NBC, should it get some sort of recognition by / on this forum?

I'm not necessarily trying to suggest anything specific, but just wondering. It is, of course, one of the best "Heroes" resources. It's one that would be of benefit to this forum if it were somehow recognized.

But to get specific, could it be considered an "Evolutions" type of site, perhaps as a "NBC.com/Heroes, and Other Heroes Evolutions Sites" sub-forum? If MySpace pages have a sub-forum, couldn't this site?

Do we know if it is wholly maintained by NBC or if it is a fan/NBC collaboration? I mean how definitive are their definitions? Can we take what appears on the Heroes Wiki as "cannon"?

Citizen
It's not an Evolutions site, as it takes no part in the ARG. I'm guessing you want something like this, but frankly I can't see any use for a forum like that.

My understanding is that it's a pure fan creation that has since been officially endorsed by / partnered with / recognized by NBC. They have no other "involvement," however.

I'd say that that's an official recognition of its accuracy, quality, reliability, etc.

If I'm mistaken, someone please correct me.

Yeah, I understand that. That makes sense to me.

And I'm not trying to suggest anything specific, just throwing it out there.

I don't see a specific sub-forum or something being all that necessary, myself. But I'd thought I'd throw it out, even if just to figure what current forum / sub-forum to post in about it.

There's already a link at the top of every page (underneath "News, "Interviews," etc. where there's a link for "Heroes Fan Art" and "Fan Theories" - there's also a link to "Heroes Wiki"). This link is visible no matter where on the forum you are.

I'm not sure what else we could do to recognize the site or make it more accessible.

Ah, of course! I hadn't realized that it linked you to the fan wiki. Nice catch, LTB.

Yeah, NBC corrected all their redirects after the deal with HeroesWiki, from what I understood.

Just found this thread, sorry. To answer the questions:

* We are officially partnered with NBC. I setup the site and still completely own it. All of the contributions are made by fans (though we've had some of the cast and crew update their own information pages).

* Since it's not proofread by writers, there may be mistakes... however with so many eyes on it the hope is, like Wikipedia, that mistakes get caught more quickly and easily. It's not a canonical source, but it is indeed a good source. Santasmile.gif

* The definitions are likely to be close and in many cases correct, however they don't release concise information all the time that is documentable so we try to do the best we can with what we're given. Their goal is to make an entertaining show and our goal is consise documentation of it. Often the goals overlap, but sometimes they don't. Santasmile.gif

* NBC links to us on a number of their pages and even has direct links to some of our information portal pages at http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/evolutions The portals are a neat graphical organization of the information. They're also currently including links in the Heroes Interactive sessions that accompany each new episode.

* They repointed the old NBC Heroes Wiki to heroeswiki.com, so all the old links should go to the right place now even if the link is still originally to NBC's old wiki.

* Heroes Evolutions is a broad term used to describe all of the content they're promoting outside of the show itself. So in a sense it could be considered part of Evolutions, though I personally don't call it part of Evolutions since all of the other material is written by the writers.
