Why does Adam not die when there's an eclipse? I'm sure this is not the first eclipse he's experienced. If they say each eclipse may have a different eclipse (may activate, may deactivate powers), I'm sure considering the seemingly abundance of eclipses in such a short interval in the heroverse that he's experienced A LOT. They have to explain why he does not die.

Well, you're making a pretty big assumption here, that all eclipses without exception affect people's powers. We don't really have any proof that this is the case. That being said, they still need to explain how an eclipse could affect that at all.

But maybe he does die. And comes back to life after the Eclipse is over.

This is so stupid... sigh

1. Not all cases Specials manifest during an eclipse. (Season 1 Six Months Ago)

2. Not every eclipse Specials lose powers. There is something particularly unique about this eclipse event that affects Special. Whether it is a direct cause, indirect cause (Say somebody manifesting a cancelling ability) or something unrelated we do not know.

The ones we know manifesting after an eclipse is only Hiro and Adam. What about what Peter said? Remember he only really saw Nathan fly after he tried to jump off a building. After the eclipse.

To him it is the first time Nathan flew. When in fact Nathan manifested after his father tried to have him killed six months before.

Well, yes. If it is coincidental how each affects their powers, I guess 400 years worth of eclipses is not enough odds for it to occur twice, yes.

We learned a very important fact though, that the eclipse both affects synthetic and natural abilities. Or is it just how "this eclipse" affects them? It is very confusing.

It is a bit confusing. But this is from the latest Behind the Eclipse:

QUOTE
“Per the preview for ‘The Eclipse Part 1,’ the company has been around for 40-something years. In that time, there have been a number of eclipses. If the eclipse is a kind of on/off switch, did the other eclipses have the same or similar effect? If so, what did The Company do in the meantime? If not, what's so special about the last two eclipses?”

The eclipse, as we understand it, always does something of note to our heroes, but the wild card is what that something is.

Nevertheless I already sent out my questions for next week's BtE asking about this, because of one thing in particular: Daphne saying "it's happening again," referring to her legs reverting to their crippled state. That suggests to me that there WAS a previous eclipse that did this. I also asked what the deal is with Peter saying Nathan first flew during an eclipse, though I'm sure a million others will bombard them with that same question.

According to the latest GN Daphne manifested her ability during the season 1 eclipse.

It has been around a year since she was disabled.

I'm assuming Daphne may've been talking about the pains in her legs that cause her to need crutches, not the fact that every eclipse had done this to her. As like the other heroes, I believe she manifested later in life.

Yeah, pretty sure she meant her legs.

Had an idea about how Adam might survive a power-removing eclipse and the Haitian. We know Adam's and Claire's blood has healing properties even removed from their bodies. So I was thinking that even if the power in Adam's brain was suppressed the healing properties of his blood kept him alive until the suppressing factor went away.

Then of course Claire got shot during the eclipse and that idea went down in flames. Santaangry.gif

The only sensical explation is that this eclipse was the only "de-activating" one to occur in the last 400+ years. Could have to do with the exact horizontal procession of the moon's shadow across the sun. Looks like Adam was a goner on March 28, 2007, Arthur or no Arthur. Considering that he attempted to release a deadly virus only eight days prior, it would have been appropriate for him to die in that his plans to rule the re-made world would have been foiled, though it would have been no consolation for the doomed 93% of the world population.
